Bought mine 19 years ago as a 40th present to myself. A perfect balance of tool watch with good looks. It will always be my favourite watch, with perfect legibility for my older eyesight 😂, and never to be sold. One day I'll gift it to my son. Pure class.
I bought one of these 24 years ago specifically for scuba diving. It's been all over the world with me and has never let me down. I can wear it on a dive and then to dinner with a tux and it still works. I get it pressure tested once a year and it's good to go. It's going to my son in a few years when he graduates college.
@@thisiskian5904 I dont find it too blingy at all. It obviously grabs a bit more attentoin than a colored bezel, but still extreamly wearable in my opinion
Couldn’t agree more. Bought this exact watch as a 30th birthday present to myself back in 2001! I love it and still wear it and it is still in great condition. I wear it with the Omega Bond nato strap and it rocks. I don’t see many around either which is even better.
I have this one and the Electric Blue (2255.80) and I would not wear anything else !!! I think that you convinced me to it through your older video on this watch.
I love this variation. You get a lot for your money, and you get a nice combination of modern and vintage looks. The midsize 36mm is also a great choice if you like that sizing better! Happy St Patty's Day everybody!

This watch has been on my wish list for years and I just found one in mint condition with box and papers! First watch I got on the secondary market and am so happy. I’ve spent years looking and sometimes buying new watches that were close to this but after watching this video, I resolved to just get the perfect watch, even if it is 20 years old.
Auntie Britt!! Thanks for the awesome video of one of my favorite watches. the 2254 is definitely a watch that could occupy room next to my Tudors. But the 2254 does compete in my heart with the 2201.50 Plant Ocean. Your non-pretentious use of a technical term has me thinking of taking a week of from work, re-watching all your previous videos and authoring the unofficial Britt's technical watch dictionary. I totally get this! Couple of weeks ago I had a new green, black and summer blue SMP in front of me but there was something about them to not buy one. But this neo vintage one just has more character and soul and I love that. Same as a 5 digit GMT Master… 🤩 Cheers Britt, hope you’re having a great weekend 🥳
Gah! You said it perfectly! It’s the CHARACTER! 😍 this is exactly it - 5 digit GMTs…. So freaking good! I’d absolutely love to buy one one day! If everything can just go really really well in the finances department! 😜💕
This watch! I have had mine for a year now and was originally bought to see if I would like this style on my 6,5” wrist, as kind of a “warm up” to when/if I some day could afford a Submariner. I got it. Have not looked back since - dont need the Sub anymore 😊
I'm really happy to see how much people are enthusiastic with this particular model, One could think that modern seamaster models can be better but 225450 is just a proper gem. I almost reach a year with mine and I'm totally agree with you, its a fantastic watch.
Yes totally agree with most of your points on this reference Omega , I own the GMT version similar specs, size , case, hands , colour etc. Minus the helium escape valve. Absolutely love my watch
I love this watch as well, Britt ! Its my everyday watch. Great proportions, good looking , easy to reed dial, and not so flashy. I can use it every place I go. 😊
How is this video even related to Rolex 🥱 Seems like u r trying to convince urself that u made the right choice to buy an Omega instead of saving for Rolex 🙄

well, I wish omega did the 39mm casing, OMEGA DOESNT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER, LONGINES MAKES 39MM HYDROCONQUEST, TUDOR DOES THE 39 MM.PELAGOS, WHY CANT OMEGA CO LISTEN TO ME????
I have this watch. I bought it new for $2,000 CAD in 2000. I was just about to sell it to buy a Tag Heuer AquaRacer. I am now going to now keep my 2254! Thanks!!!
This, the blue one, the white gold bezel one, the titanium, America's cup, 150th anniversary. Such an amazingly underrated (although prices have creeped up) group of neo vintage Omegas. They actually wear smaller than 41 in my opinion. The ultimate perfection is achieved once you mod the bracelet by adding an on the fly adjustable Omega clasp. Double chef's kiss.
I have two variants of this watch, the 2534.50 Seamaster 300m GMT and the 2231.80 Titanium version. The GMT version has a white border around the date window, a bi-coloured 24hr rotating bezel and NO helium escape valve. The 2231.80 is all titanium, including bracelet. These however come with an electric blue sunburst wave dial. All the titanium case and bracelet is brushed so no attention grabbing polished surfaces and it weighs in a tiny 100g. The 2254.50 "Peter Blake" has really skyrocket in value in 2024 but you can still get great examples of the other two references for around the $2-3k USD range from Japan. FUN FACT: the neo-vintage Seamasters in the 41mm cases like this one can fit the current model SMP300's Omega rubber strap if you install it with curved spring bars. Perfect fit. Put a 2254.50 on a 2024 Omega black rubber strap if you want to see something truly special.
Seamasters are my number one most favorite watch. You can have an entire collection of just new and vintage seamasters and have so much diversity! I have the 2534.50 Seamaster 300 and the 2511.21 Seamaster 150.
Britt, I'm sorry but that absolutely works on your wrist, dive watches do have that smaller dial to bezel ratio which helps, and also more importantly the lug to lug doesn't extend beyond the flat of your wrist so actually looks good, but just my opinion. Imagine a re-issue with all the lovely modern specs but with that lovely design, we can hope!
Great video Britt! Can’t believe you didn’t mention the date window color difference too though. The black background on the 2254.50 is so much nicer than the bond variants with white background imo.
I have the same one that is in fact my first luxury watch that I bought in 2007. I still love it like I did from the day one and I think this is the best Seamaster ever produced. 🤩
The Sword hands and thinner case definitely make this one better to wear over the newer iterations. My 2255.80 Electric blue is a stunner on my 8" wrist and one that will likely always be in my collection! Solid caseback for the win!!
The 165.024 is my favorite vintage Omega diver with the 2254.50 coming in a close second. Omega needs to make both versions (modern recreations) even if they are limited editions! Omega………I’m waiting!😎
This Seamaster Diver 300 reference has a character all its own - the markers and hands are much better in terms of size/shape in providing good lume at night. And this watch at 36mm, just manufique!! Omega needs to bring back a sub-40mm Seamaster 300 - lots of folks would prefer that sizing and buy a SMP who otherwise might not.
Salty! YES! This is the perfect word for it - CHARACTER! 😍👏🏻 it’s just so dang good!!! I completely agree re: omega bringing back the sub 40mm sizing. I really think they’re missing a trick here! Especially with the success of Tudor and the BB54. There’s an audiance for this!
Bought one 2 years ago and wore it almost everyday since then. Even this year that I got speedmaster added to my collection, still wearing it so often.
I have this watch! I don't normally like watches this large for my modest 6 and 3/4 inch wrist but this one wears great! I love the thinness of this model.
This is definitely my favorite Seamaster variant for all the reasons you stated. I will say that I would put up with a bit of thickness if we got a new one with a co-axial movement. The Born Slippy bezel is probably my biggest issue with the line, but at the same time I am not one to mess with the bezel often. Thanks for taking a look at this watch. I definitely think you need to treat yourself with a 2262.50!
This comment is a 'bit late to the party' but I only discovered BP recently whilst looking to justify my purchase of a BB54. Agree with all her opinions, but Britt failed to mention that this was one of the last Seamasters with a quartz movement for those of us who wanted it as our daily 'beater'- also it was marketed as Pierce Brosnan & Sir Peter Blake's preferred dial - after 18 years think mine is a keeper!
Great video!I've had mine from new as my first luxury watch. The bracelet always seemed a bit too narrow so it's currently on an adapted 22mm tropic strap that works for me. The lume is still amazing 20 years on .
I do love this watch too… have been considering the quartz version as a set and forget holiday beater for a while now… you might have just pushed me over the edge!
I'm on my 3rd - the others in the past have been sold to fund other watches, but this one now has been with me for more than a decade, and was originally purchased by the previous owner from an AD in my home city of Nottingham - so that is an extra special part of my ownership. It is a 2010 watch, and it went for its first full service just a short time ago, and came back looking like new - although it now has some desk diving marks again on the clasp 😉 I can safely say it is a firm favourite in my collection and one of a trio of Seamasters I have. It will still with me unless the smelly stuff hits the air conditioning in a major fashion financially. I've found over the years that I NEED a date display on my watch, which is why I sold my Rolex no-date Submariner to fund the purchase all those years ago.
I bought mine following your first video. Awesome watch, best of the best Seamasters - from someone that have the modern ones. The smaller model you told about it is a quartz BTW.
Ahhhh only the REAL ONES have seen the first 2254.50 video! 😜 and big congrats on owning this one! And YES! You’re sooo right! The specific reference I showed is the quartz model! But I’m so so sure it is available in mechanical as well!
I did too. I believe that was about two years ago. I did not regret it. It addresses all the things I do not like on all the other SMP models. To me it is a plus to use a higher grade ETA movement over the Co-Axial. Easier to service and thinner.
Britt you know your stuff and 99% agree with you and Omega watches. BUT as an old gezzer with over 500 scuba dives (Lost count) years ago. My favourite is still Citizen Aqualand, However the second go to dive watch I own and love. Omega 2123.04 I have taken it to silly limits, like 50 m on air Bashed it on obstacles in limited time wreck dives etc etc .I agree with your comments. Its just better than a Submariner 🙂
Agreed. That era of the Seamaster gave us the best watches. I wish they re-issued this design and size... problem with that would be a price of 7k+.... just buy an old one and get it serviced. Done
I have the 2541 Bond and the 2264 (the best of both worlds). This design of Omega is superb - maybe the best dive/sports watch ever. At least equally as iconic as the Rolex Sub. I like the HEV - I'll never use it, but it is a functional device and adds a bit of extra 'interest' to the watch.
Been saving up for this watch for a while now and finally got it about a month ago, and I absolutely love it! The only flaw I have personally is that there's no micro adjustment on the clasp, other than that i love every bit of it!
My 81 year old mum commandeered my 5450 a decade ago when discovering the joys of self winding as a loaner sue to hers having a did battery. She absolutely pulls off the 41mm, tou can too. There's an old webpage comparing the swordhanded to the submariner of the same era. Dully believe this watch is the reason Rolex had to up their game (because it isn't anything with skeleton hands that got them off their butts.)
Great review. There was a time when this was my only watch…I’ve also reviewed it on my channel, but I found more faults with it. One of the biggest gripes is the unbalanced layout of the dial text…they should have put at the least the “Seamaster” name on the top half. I also didn’t care for the non-tapered bracelet. But I love how thin it was and I had no issues with the bezel. Thank you!
The 2254 has been my daily go-to watch for nearly 20 years. It really is perfectly proportioned. Omega should re-release it with an updated movement with longer power reserve. That would be a license to print money.
Had this exact model years ago and sold it for a brief Planet Ocean distraction. Now have the white gold bezel model and all I need now is a blue one to match it!
Britt, I only say this because I love you but this has litteraly bothered me in almost every video ......but alot of the watches you say "are to big for me" litteraly arnt! This Omega looks great on your wrist. I'm not trying to tell you what you prefer but if you truly want too wear these pieces than please wear them! Your being hyper self conscious! Thank you for this channel! Congrats on the baby!
Gringa you are almost right. The GMT is the best and is only let down by the bezel insert which does look a bit dated. Change that though and you get a completely different aesthetic, particularly as it doesn’t have the helium escape valve.
I just looked at my wrist wearing an Omega Seamaster 300 Chronograph in Stainless Steel with 18k Sedna Gold, black dial on rubber strap... and thought, nah... I still love you 😂😂😂😂
I always like this particular seamaster model. It's the closest looking to some of those vintage military MOD Omega models. I wish they would make more of this particular style in the modern model line.
Great review that sent me on an unexpected detour in pursuit of my next watch… just scored a near mint condition “Schwerty” “Peter Blake” 2254.50 on Chrono24! Surprised how elegant and tooly it is at the same time! Honeymooning…
Bought mine in 2003 wouldn’t trade it. Wish the bezel was a tad more grippy somehow but otherwise could not ask for anything more. As to HEV never a thing for me sometimes someone will ask about it, so something to discuss. Really enjoy your thoughts and opinions here.
Bought mine 19 years ago as a 40th present to myself. A perfect balance of tool watch with good looks.
It will always be my favourite watch, with perfect legibility for my older eyesight 😂, and never to be sold. One day I'll gift it to my son.

It is a 2010 watch, and it went for its first full service just a short time ago, and came back looking like new - although it now has some desk diving marks again on the clasp 😉
I can safely say it is a firm favourite in my collection and one of a trio of Seamasters I have. It will still with me unless the smelly stuff hits the air conditioning in a major fashion financially. I've found over the years that I NEED a date display on my watch, which is why I sold my Rolex no-date Submariner to fund the purchase all those years ago.
The SMP 300 is addicting.
I have a 2255.80 with the electric blue dial, a watch that is perfect for any occasions.
The blue bezel Omega 2265.80 also comes with a quartz version, and it's also awesome to look at! 😊
My favorite too, still looks like a tool watch and I far prefer the bracelet on these models, not to mention the embossed case back.
Most beautiful watch ever made. Yes, I own one and absolutely treasure it. Love to hear others so enthusiastic about the 2254.50
Agreed. That era of the Seamaster gave us the best watches. I wish they re-issued this design and size... problem with that would be a price of 7k+.... just buy an old one and get it serviced. Done
Love the vintage omega seamaster, I have the 2541.80 and it's ridiculously cool
What a fantastic watch too!
This and 16710 makes pretty much perfect two watch collection of the era :)
This is the creator in me, but whoever manages your music selection and placement deserves a raise! Great video!
She does deserve a raise! She does everything herself. 🙌🏽🙌🏽
I bought this as a tour present in 2003 when I came back from Afghanistan.
💪🏽
Great coverage on this model, I have to agree. I just picked up the Bond 60; it is nicely refined and wort your review.
Thank you!
Love it, love it, love it. I bought one about 2 months ago and I sleep with it on. Enough said.
The 2254 has been my daily go-to watch for nearly 20 years. It really is perfectly proportioned. Omega should re-release it with an updated movement with longer power reserve. That would be a license to print money.
Another banger Gringa. Thank you for the content. Shouts to Popi
Since I watched Ray Donovan I fall in love with this Seamaster!
This one is particularly nice on the Omega rubber strap that was available for it at the time it came out.
Spot on! Mine just came back from service. My precious!
The PERFECT Omega. Love mine.
I think the main advantage to this model is the solid hands. The skeletonised hands can be hard to read in low light due to poor contrast.
I love Neo vintage reviews! you do a great job :)
This is the best looking Omega IMHO. I just wish it was a GMT and a 40 or 39.
Great review that sent me on an unexpected detour in pursuit of my next watch… just scored a near mint condition “Schwerty” “Peter Blake” 2254.50 on Chrono24! Surprised how elegant and tooly it is at the same time! Honeymooning…
I thought all the omega and rolex videos were burning you out Britt?? The swatch video was a pleasant surprise. Have a beautiful day
Bought mine in 2003 wouldn’t trade it. Wish the bezel was a tad more grippy somehow but otherwise could not ask for anything more. As to HEV never a thing for me sometimes someone will ask about it, so something to discuss. Really enjoy your thoughts and opinions here.
