      @montys8th 8 дней назад +37

      These are an end of model life cycle transitionary model. It makes no sense to run Seamasters in two seperate case sizes this close to the end of life cycle. The new Seamasters are coming next year. These new 42mm models are to maintain interest in a product line until the new models are released. The new one will come with different case size options, a new redesigned tapering bracelet and a date or no date model. Expect it second half of 2025.

      Exactly the way I see it. I'm painfully underwhelmed. I'm afraid Omega has been reduced to cashing in on the enormous strength of their name, raising prices but churning out inferior quality under the cover of "vintage". I find myself really getting into the microbrands, especially Christopher Ward. Excellent video though for sure.

      The black dial is a 'vintage inspired model' hence the aluminium bezel, while the steel on steel is a 'modern take that uses new technology and materials" when really its just had a nekton bezel bolted on and they've found excess material left over from the brushed steel dials on the recently discontinued Railmasters.

    I agree. This is the closest thingI’ve seen to timeless perfection from omega, apart from the moonwatch. I think it would look stellar on an orange nato or rubber strap (yellow, too). I also think it’s an excellent vacation watch (Who cares about two time zones when you’re on vacation?) bc of the strap versatility. I will get one on the mesh and a bunch of straps to go with it.

    Another super video Adrian - thank you!
    As much as I have always loved the Seamaster series, I will pass on this variant. They lost me with the Aluminum bezel and dial. While the dial might be ok for a long while, we all know what the aluminum bezel inset will look like after a few years. Aluminum is a downgrade - no doubt about it, and I hope this wasn’t done to cut costs.
    Also, they have to do something about the thickness of the piece, in this regard and this regard only, they are almost like Invicta watches that became so popular in the 2000’s. I know the Coaxial movements are the culprit here but the thickness has to addressed.

    • @gomw_84
      @gomw_84 8 дней назад +1

      I don't think they introduced the aluminum bezel to cut costs, also because they increased the price on these models. Plus you can find ceramic bezels on a 1500€ Longines hydro conquest. I think it's a design choice I personally don't agree with, they could have used other materials and achieve the same result

    Hi Adrian and hi everyone!
    I'm super happy with the release of this "full silver" version with the engraved titanium bezel 🔥
    I was planning to make one in this spirit by mixing a white dial with the Nekton bezel !!
    In short, I love this piece, it reminds me of the 007 Platinum Aston Martin 5 pieces limited to the world
    In terms of comfort, I would rather wear it on the "normal" steel bracelet because the mesh is very beautiful but a little uncomfortable and above all I don't like the gap between the lugs which also makes the bezel seem too big ( on small wrist )
    Have you the same feeling ???
    In short, while waiting for the return of a 2254 bracelet with on-the-fly adjustment which would make this piece ideal, it's a future purchase !
    This pieces could be even more cool in a full Titanium version !!

    Really into the black version. I think they've fixed almost every issue I have with the regular Diver 300; I nearly bought a ceramic Diver 300 but the shininess of the bezel and face of the watch, combined with how deeply recessed the date window had to be, made me hesitate. Omega has taken the best features of the 60th anniversary Bond Seamaster but replaced the lollipop hand and novelty caseback. The only criticism I have is that they don't offer this on the standard Seamaster bracelet, which I happen to love. Anyway, the black one on the rubber strap might even be my next watch purchase. I'll need to try it on first, but I feel this inhabiting the same place in my mind aesthetically as a Rolex Sub, whereas the ceramic Diver 300's couldn't quite get there.
