    Hey there!
Thank you very much for the great responses!
What Henning says at 4:40 is very important. I have noticed the problem and will correct this point shortly in the instruction manual, which you can find on the FZG Parts website.
Always check that there is enough space between your trem block and the bolt of the Tremolo Switch to be abele to adjust the stop screw properly!

Interesting, so it's a little bit of a guesstimation and tedious install, and involves putting a hole in the small space between your springs with not much room to correct a mistake if you make one.

for those who wonder how to adjust a floyd rose in any tuning you want in less than 5 minutes here is my tip:
1.block the trem (best tremblock against the body) that your trem is in perfect perpendicular position to the body
    2. loosen the 3 locking screws on the nut
    3. tune down in whatever tuning you want (the trem shouldnt move … if it does move thighten the claw in the back so the springs are pulling the block
4.if your guitar has the desired tuning lock the 3 screws and pull out the block
    5. now everything is out of tune .. dont worry just tune back to pitch with the screws in the back (trem cavity)
boom 5 minutes and everything in tune

  • @AaronConlon-er2pg

just installed, and can confirm: the install is unnecessarily difficult, and the bolt should absolutely be a knurled flat thumb-adjustable screw instead. For $100, they should either have that front screw mount offset or allow the piston piece to be removed during install, and include a proper way to adjust. Yes, I say "proper" because the one that they include is just about as incorrect as it gets.

They stay in tune like a champ, they are not super fun to intonate but don't really have to do that but once in a blue moon. IF you break a string live, ur fked but i can't even recall the last time i broke a string and i pick with a 2mm heavy hand and play thrash and death metal.

    Hey Henning (and viewers),
I got a concept for a floatig trem that will stay in tune, regardless of string tension (string gauge, breaks, bends, tuning), but I've come to realize that the manufacturing precision needed for smooth operation is beyond good and evil. That means the prize will easily be 200€ per trem, unless they are manufactured in large quantities.
Do you think there is a market for this? I will build a prototype during the winter, but I'd like to get your thoughts anyways :D Keep up the great work!

Where I'm sitting its a another solution to a nonexistent problem. I just unscrew my Strats whammy bar and enjoy the natural reverb. I guess if you're playing live going OoT would be a problem, but the traditional getting a wedge shaped Cedar Shingle and tapping it between the whammy block and the wood seems much easier and definitely cheaper.

Nice idea & this is the second channel where i have seen it in action, good idea and it seems to work- BUT (isnt there always a but? lol), it will cost 65 euro!?(kickstarter price) Seriously?
Imho, thats at least 10 euro too expensive & although there are around 30 free places left where you can pledge & pick it up for 50 euro on Kickstarter, maybe the price ought to be rethought, especially as it will not be suitable for all FR type trems- just a suggestion, not trolling.

    • @fzg-parts
      @fzg-parts 2 года назад

      Hi,
      thanks for the comment.
I could now explain how the price comes about, but I can also understand that the customers don't care anyway. What counts for you is what you have to pay and that's Ok.
But I just want to say this: I don't have a big company behind me. I founded FZG Parts as a one man company a few weeks ago. I have to set up a sales structure and bear all the costs alone for prototyping, building the homepage, pay for marketing things. If Kickstarter fails, I will have thrown a few thousand euros down the drain. I have developed the Tremolo Switch primarily for myself and want to give you the opportunity to buy it so you can use it yourself. That's all. Hope it's Ok for you.

I just got my first floating trem guitar (G&L Comanche Tribute). Since it's an s-style guitar I wanted to try out tuning in E flat. I'm now just realizing why it took so long to do, and then why it took so long to tune back up to E natural. I'd maybe spend $30 on this for the convenience, but not 80 Euro. Just think of the relative price to the guitar... on my Comanche it's about 10% the price of the guitar.... on a $400 Mexican fender, it'd be like 20% the price of the damn guitar.

For the love of f I wish someone would make one that keeps the trem from going FLAT. We've seen like 5 devices that keep a bar from pull up. Who cares? When is that ever the issue? The biggest problem players have is that double-stop bending ruins everything when you have bridge that rocks forward. And we need something that can be switched on the fly. Tremelno started the idea but it failed pretty horribly. I wish they'd reengineer it, because they were onto something.
