A whole segment discussing the price differences of cars with different Carfax histories. Clean, minor accident, salvage titles. I posit that cars that have minor repairs can be a great value, as any bad history in the Carfax can disproportionately reduce the purchase price.
Did you ever look at, or have any thoughts, on the previous model? I am looking at a C63 AMG Edition from 2014 . As the last even performance N/A engine it looks very popular. Cheers Ade
That is exactly right. I just purchased a 2020 C63S, because after a lot of research, people are pissed there will no longer be a V8 engine. So in time, when people want to look to buy a C63, the 2020 model will be the last one with that beastly V8 Engine.
@@davidmakary772 david do you think that e63 will be as popular? im thinking about buying it since its a bit faster but maybe its not as popular as the c class (c63) which is more nimble?
@@davidmakary772 the 2020 and 2019 engines aren’t as good as the 2016-2018 models due to the exhaust note being tanned due to the regulations in the EU. Hence why I downgraded from my 2020 model back to my edition 1 coupe which sounds 110% times better
Nobody with any sense buys a gemran car new and then expects it to not depreciate. Also depreciation depends on location and supply and demand. I bought an almost fully loaded 2017 C63s coupe w/ 18k miles in Jan 2020 for $57k and in my area the car now costs more to buy than paid for it, so it actually appreciated a bit
Times are much different now. 2019 through 2022 are the Facelifted models. 2022 only produced a few due to covid. 2023 will be a 4 cylinder/electric car and they will likely loose all mopar type clients they have had over the years. Which means the 2019 through 2022 cars will likely start to hold value better and be somewhat sought after over previous 2018/older and 2023/newer. I recently bough a 2021 used with the most options I could find. So I guess ill find out in a few years....lol
So if I understand correctly purchasing a C63s around 3 years old is probably the best bet if you want a car under factory warranty and possibly with a CPO warranty for an additional year? For example, purchase a 2019 in late 2021 or early 2022?
Wow! The most data driven analysis I have ever come across. You sure know your subject. Am tempted to ask if I can use your method to work out the depreciation of my girlfriend?
The facelift version >2019 actually appreciated in value. Probably due to covid and the new model announced being a 4L hybrid, but I was in the market of buying one of these and I am looking at some pretty crazy prices. Like under a 20k km with a decent spec starts a 90k EUR. :( If you bought one of these before 2020 you could actually sell it for a profit right now assuming you kept in decent shape. Not sure if this is a spike or that the market will correct itself during the course of the year or these will actually continue to hold decent value.
*Let me know which car you would like to see analysed next*

Good point. I forgot to mention that in the video.

Another great video! Can’t wait to see the BMW M4/M3 and Audi RS5 analysis for comparison.
This video was actually suppose to be about the M3, but the data quality for that car was terrible. I need a bit more time to sort that out.

Is she the ASS version, or Base?
They age like milk
Why did you stop at 2014 since the model originated in 2008?
