Scottish C63 owner here. Love my car, had it over 4 years now…the longest I’ve owned a car. Sounds great, love the style, smooth runner and a solid build. Don’t see me selling it any time soon.
@@theessexdon Hi Mark, no I bought second hand from MB. I still think it's a great buy as had 25k on the clock and paid £29k for it. I've only just replaced all pads and discs, only other outlay has been servicing, MOT, road tax, insurance, tyres and fuel! The latter two can be hefty if you have a hefty right foot! However, it has never stopped me enjoying the power and sound that the car delivers. Plenty good quality aftermarket mods if you find the interior a bit dull. The exterior looks great to me, stout muscle car sharp looks rather than curve soft edged newer models. Once my kids grow up I'll probably buy the coupe 😄
Just sold mine after a year and a half of ownership for a 6k profit ! Great cars obviously heavy on fuel consumption and repairs can be expensive. Still have a set of winter tyres and alloys wheels if anyone’s interested in them 😃
I had two issues with my 2014 C204 C63: 1. Two cracked wheels. Apparently the factory tyres were run flat, so they stood no chance in the UK with all our pot holes and the tiny profile of the wheel. 2. Leaky / Cracked left hand side cam shaft cover. Replaced both of them. Oil was seeping onto the manifold and made a bit of mess over time!

My dad has one of these C63s and we love it but what it does have is a LSD which is really good so thank you for brining it up because its important and great video
The headbolt issue is greatly overstated. All the cars that suffered from this have either been fixed or are not a problem. This only happened to a very few amount of cars. Probably less than 1% of cars.
You gotta love the W204 C63 especially the Edition 507, it is one of the best cars AMG has ever made. Super car performance with everyday practicality. Last of the 6.2 litre V8 Future classic. Too bad they are so rare.
If you’re in the market for one, there’s one for sale in Los Angeles and also one for sale in Vancouver Canada. They’re both incredibly well taken care of and solid prices, I’m local to the one in Vancouver and it’s heavily tempting haha.
I average 11mpg to 14mpg around town. About 24 to 27mpg on a run. 260miles is the best ive had to a full tank 160 miles is the worst to a full tank! £105. They only run on Super, and ive found Tesco 99 is the best for mine, makes the throttle feel sharper, feels keener to pull in gears. Fabulous cars, get one now, because they will only go up in value, and we wont see a car like it ever again, with 6.2 V8.😎
Hey by any chance may I ask you opinion on the different models with the same engine like the g63 CLS63 cl63 clk63 ML63 are they better or any difference at all been keen on one
@@Janawhitej1 I couldn't really say, as I've only driven the W204 and W205. The 6.2 w204 engine makes the car and whole experience, but the W205 is just a much better car all round. @@Janawhitej1 You'll be used to shit fuel economy, with a V8 M3!😉 But the E92 is like a scaple to drive compared to the W204, which is more like a sledge hammer. Test drive them both, but I'd say the w205 would win you over, as its a great all rounder, and you are used to a much better chassis than the W204.
Post facelift also had high engine oil temps in water climates, as the oil cooler was not upto scratch cooling the oil. These run alot of negative camber, so even though at first glance the tires may look ok (on the rear), but dont be surprised if they are completely bald on the inside :) Post face lift with the black plastic head covers are prone to cracking and leaking oil. Not expensive, but a PITA to change.

You for got a few things like cam shaft adjuster, intake manifold, motor mounts, pulley failure due to them being plastic. From 40k miles to 75k I spent $25k in repairs (on 1 car) not maintenance. Another thing is must do oil changes every 2500 to 3000 mile these engines are very moody with oil. My advice comes from experience and help from my master AMG tech and engine builder with 30 years in the game + SLR training). He has built a few AMGs for me starting with my C43 20 years ago. I highly recommend getting warranty which you can get even if the car is 10 years old, it’s worth it to spend the $5k get 5 years of warranty. However don’t let this scare you I have three these cars (11’ ML63, CLKBS, 11’ C63) and it is unlikely I would sell them, ever.
Nice, I'm gonna go check out a 2010 c63 amg with 90k miles for 20k really want it but dont want it if theres problems, any other tips that you would have to look out for when test driving and looking at the car
Since it’s not a 2011 or newer I wouldn’t buy it unless the head bolts been replaced also $20K is extremely cheap for one of these cars which means you’re gonna put probably a good $10k
Firstly what a great video one of the best! Engine and transmission wise I've been lucky with mine only bills ive had aside regular servicing was for normal wear and tear failed items in the suspension. Only major expense an electric tailgate mechanism (lock) failure this year at around £800.

I don't know if the C63 is affected but W204s in general suffer from corrosion in the rear subframe. In the UK Mercedes is replacing them under warranty but this is a decision for the warranty department so it can be pot luck. Fortunately my 2009 C200 will have the rear subframe replaced under warranty but the subframe is currently on back order with no specific timescales.
Whilst working for Mercedes I drove everything they made at the time. The car that stands out and most memorable is the original C63 an awesome engine and chassis, will bit back in the wet so be warned.

I have a C63 year2014 my mechanics cannot get my full head lights to work I only have low beams full time what is the matter or what do I need to Change??
Why not talk about the common MOST expensive issues with the M156 engine? 1 . +50k milage CAM Adjuster LOBS start to fail so when you start the car up you get a load of clacking = £4k plus bill 2. The magnesium intake tends to rot down the bottom so ill need to be replaced = £2k plus bill worth getting the Vacuume ACV valve replaced at the same time as this also fails 3. REPLACE all the Injectors if they've never been replaced due to issues with them failing and hydro locking the engine with petrol - £800 or a new engine 4. Plastic timing chain guides needs replacing for high milage cars due to them chipping and ending up in the oil pickup potentially staving the engine of oil - there's plenty of videos on RUclips for this so don't get caught with a bad engine !!!
Great video. It might have useful to cover ownership costs, i.e. servicing, and fuel usage. I've known many that bought them and thought they would make good commuting cars, usually failing to see anything more than 20mpg.
Great video buddy. I really miss my 2013 C63 but wow did I have some issues with it.....lovely motors when running right but massive bills when faults occur 😞
This engine is like a nuclear plant, it runs very hot and is very heavy on oil. On hotter climates it runs continuously 110-120 oil temp on highway use. If you like to use this on mountains or hillclimb, or circuit use it is impossible to do so without a performance oil cooler, as the oil temp will reach very easily 140 degrees celsius in a 5 minutes push uphill. This has been documented excesively on MB Forums, yet, no youtuber is mentioning this.

All I've found are either C63 look a likes, that in small text say won't fit a C63, or only fit pre face lift models. It would be great to hear where you got yours if it's a replacement or whether its the original that's been painted. Nice video and good delivery.
At least get your first reason right. It’s not cause of the metal it’s because they had a female head on the head bolt and when it’s torqued it stretched to factory settings this then is susceptible to corrosion and the lack on metal at the bolt and female head hence why they changed to a male head there is more metal.
I’m looking at srt 392 they’re 35k -40k these are going for 25-30k so I may Jair get one considering I’ve spent 8k or so on. Repairs for my rt charger I’m in rn mindswell spend that money on something worth it
Can you give any advice on how to really make sure the C63 you’re buying on like auto trader for example isn’t absolutely hammered? I see a lot of them for real cheap and they usually have similar mileage but a lot of different asking prices for the same trim.

If you don’t have money please don’t buy c63 Benz
Maintenance is very expensive
This car is produced for only rich people
Buy one, reserve money for maintenance like you bought two cars, less reservation is wishful thinking.
The lack of depreciation makes up for it a bit!
Damn nice video. Really different from other videos.
Can you give any advice on how to really make sure the C63 you’re buying on like auto trader for example isn’t absolutely hammered?
I see a lot of them for real cheap and they usually have similar mileage but a lot of different asking prices for the same trim.
Hi mate where did you get the steering amg badge from??
