- A long standing tradition of the Glendale Model Railroad Society is when a member passes we hold a memorial at the club house featuring final run of a train of the deceased member.
Recently this year we lost Paul Koehler, a beloved long-standing member since the mid 1950’s. For his final run, Paul requested his World War II era Southern Pacific troop train consisting of a class AC-10 cab forward, 11 50’ troop transport sleepers, a Southern Pacific baggage car for storage, two kitchen service cars and two Pullmans for officer accommodations make the final crossing on the society’s Verdugo Valley Lines.
The Glendale Model Railroad Society is a 501(c)3 organization that has been building the HO Scale Vertigo Valley Lines since April 1949. Our railroad is set in 1950’s Southern California and includes the world-famous Los Angeles Union Passenger Terminal, Glendale Station, Tehachapi Loop and “Beautiful Downtown Burbank.
The Society is located at 619 Hahn Ave, Glendale, CA 91203, just a few blocks from the Freeway 134/Pacific Avenue offramp (Exit 7A North) and left at Hahn Ave. Parking is available.
