TBH. Bachmann Starter train sets are infact a great start to the Model railroading hoby, but they are made from cheap plastic. so thats why I usually buy Walthers, Athearn's, or MTH Locomotives/ rolling stock. I also use HO scale BTW.
Props for making sure Sheldon has that one outlet that is fun, creative, yet has the right scientific and historical interests for him to be delighted to be involved with. They should have done an episode that Sheldon needed a back up job from studying string theory and he just went off and became a train conductor. That probably would have ruined his fantasy of the job though lol!
I am 45 and the G scale set my grandfather gave me in 1985 when I was 8, still runs to this day. I recently bought more tracks and cars, cant wait to display it around the Christmas tree this year.
Really enjoyed Sheldon’s exploration into the world of HO scale model trains in this episode! It’s funny and relatable to see him find more entertainment in the smaller scale compared to the O scale models. It’s a great reminder of how personal preference plays a big role in the hobby of model railroading.
