Congratulations on starting a stockpile! Food security is so important, no matter the size of your family! With time you will find out how much you want to keep and want you want to keep in your stockpile. My stockpile changes constantly because we eat from it and sale differ. 😊😊😊

Marlene, if I had all the things you have in your prepper pantry I probably wouldn't need to grocery shop for those things within a year or two maybe 3 or longer. I have noticed a lot of people get the best by date confused with how long the foods would be actually good for.
It is so important to not waste money or food. I try really hard to eat most items before the best by date, but the items I have eaten have been fine. The secret is figuring out what your family eats, want to stock and how much. I have been doing a lot of tracking of items (food and nonfood) to see how much we actually use.
Funny how we try to "hide" the favorite things and then the kids find them, tear the box open and then leave the little bit left in the box and still in the "hidden" place! LOL too funny.
How do you keep your boxed items from having mites or mealy bugs out in them? I repackage in ason jars and put bay leaves to deter bugs. Thanks for sharing

OMG, ... your shelves, YOUR SHELVES!... where's my eyes now? SICK I tell you! You are miles ahead of the herd, .. just don't stop. I have a stuffed chicken in the oven, ... Yum, yum. PUMPKIN! ... I have 13 Pie Pumpkins on the porch and one large regular one. I'm going to try dehydrating Pie Pumpkin this year. The dehydrated Squash looks perfect. I just love those 15 bean soup mixes. AGGGHHHH!!!! I just checked the stuffed chicken and the dressing "exploded" out of the back where I had it all "sewn" up, looks terrible but tastes great, ... lol I broke the cardinal "rule" and put all my veggies in with the chicken. According to those who have never cooked a meal besides opening a can, I'm supposed to use a separate pot for every vegetable. I just say. "you do the dishes then", ... and not another word is said. Timer is ON! The fifty lbs of ugly carrots I bought from the factory for $5 made 64 pints of carrots but that's only a pint a week for 64 weeks. I'll hardly get fat on that. I'm dehydrating the second fifty pounds. The turnips will be sliced, peeled, and frozen. They freeze up so nice. I do nothing with the parsnips leaving them to freeze in the barn and taking one when wanted. If you have a local large animal feed store you might want to check them for bulk grains at a decent price. Whole wheat and oats kinda thing. Whole corn? DO NOT mention GMO free or organic unless you want to give them a good laugh, ... I know our Feed Mill has big bags of black oil sunflower seeds for birds and I hear they make great sprouts, ... but you'd want to check them closely and make sure they are not treated with anything. Most bird food isn't but you never know. Another hint, check the local bottle return depot for bottles and jars, ... then check again and bring chocolates this time, ... they'll remember and they train so well with chocolates. AGGHHH!!!! That's three more full canners of potato then I'll focus on dehydrating whatever potato is left. I may even get more. I save the wide mouth quarts for meat. I can fit a whole (medium) butchered chicken into a quart. Boneless except the drumstick that I chop the knob off to expose the marrow and included it in the jar. I never include the skin in my canned chicken as it can be very overpowering. Specially over time. Eaten right away and you'd never know, but give it a year or two in storage and then you'll see. May the abundance of our world always be manifest in your life!

I definitely know you can freeze them both. From what I found on Google it says 2 months for both. Of course you will have a texture change. How this helps!
Still watching but do you take advantage of amazon sales on augason farms stuff? We only buy the cheap sales and then can make meals in jars for the pantry.
@@SnowGardener my rule of thumb is anything $20 and under…that I would actually eat, for example the pancake mix was recently $11 for a 10 lb can…but you can make a ton of different things with it like bread scones etc. also bought broccoli. I refuse to spend over $20 lol on one can

Take those oxygen absorbers out of the sugar! They will cause your sugar to go rock hard. O2 absorbers are not recommended for sugar.

I definitely know you can freeze them both. From what I found on Google it says 2 months for both. Of course you will have a texture change. How this helps!

Still watching but do you take advantage of amazon sales on augason farms stuff? We only buy the cheap sales and then can make meals in jars for the pantry.
I have never bough any Augason farms stuff. I have been watching the prices and stuff but still am not sure what is a good price.
@@SnowGardener my rule of thumb is anything $20 and under…that I would actually eat, for example the pancake mix was recently $11 for a 10 lb can…but you can make a ton of different things with it like bread scones etc. also bought broccoli. I refuse to spend over $20 lol on one can

Your sugar will be hard as a brick. Oxygen absorbers not nessary in sugar. It doesn't go bad.

I’m impressed with all that you guys have done but lady when you put stuff like this showing everyone around you what you’ve got in your house you might as well open your front door up and tell everyone that’s around you come on in and help yourself! And a lot of people say I’ve got protection, but do you have enough for when the SHTF? You’d need a machine gun are about 20 double barrel shot guns! Cause you’re going to have hoards of people coming to your house especially if they are hungry!
