Jesus Del!! I don’t think I took a breath for over 16 minutes. Full of admiration for you taking that on. That could go South very quickly but you did a superb job as usual. Well done, that is pure job satisfaction. Cheers James
And that’s why quickstep is worth the money ! Had to do the same thing on engineered once but on a full one so had to cut a bit off the back off the shoulder and tongue. Not ideal! Good use of the palm router making a hole and then snapping the thin strips! Showing class and experience again, builders got to be happy with that!
Hi bud🖐It's never obvious which is the best approach for doing repairs like this, and I guess I will always try and go for one that has the best chance working and not becoming problematic later down the line🤔Thanks for watching 😎 Cheers

I had complete faith in you all along. I did not have faith in myself when the sparks came out as I was loading the van to tell me he had done similar. I decided to come back the following day with a clear head and found he had done it in two places not one. Customer was spitting rivets so I set to and did similar to you (it made me buy a trimmer) but used my trim saw carefully and saved the day. Client well pleased and sparks wallet much lighter and he did me a favour at home. Great vid Del.... Bob (Weston super Mare)
Great repair Del. Sometimes I think you need a little bit of luck on your side with jobs like that. Just a tip I picked up from another RUclipsr( not tried yet) was to use a strong double sided tape on the plank to stick your knocking block to, to create that friction you need to split or relocate the joints rather than a chisel. Don’t forget to replace your router bit, as laminate is brutal on blades😂
I found that if you cut the bottom part of the tongue off, you can get away with replacing a middle board. Just put some wood glue on the under side of the tongue
Hi there🖐I've never attempted a replacement like this on a full plank, but I rekon you're suggestion would work, as pva glue on LDF/MDF makes a super strong bond💪Thanks for your comment 😎 Cheers Del
