What is the model name of the laminate?
Thanks a lot for your help
I started doing this type of flooring but did not know how to start.
Luckily I saw this video and got the nail of it
Thanks 🙏
Oh, to have a square room. I am a English handyman living and working in France. Trust me, no walls are square here. Makes for an interesting job though. Great video.
Spot on!!! Laying this in a old house were the corners are not perfectly 90 degrees is a whole different experience. Besides that if your really unlucky (like me) and it your really close to a perfect fit but not there. You end up with a lot of waste.
WOW - your good! The floor looks just beautiful. 3/13/23 Sarasota, Fla. watching
Great detailed video.
I am presently having LVT floating click system flooring laid this week. Like previous flooring ie engineered wood click system I have always removed skirting. kick boards prior to the floors being fitted. So, in this video has silicon been used between the finished floor and the skirting boards?
Great video, are you able to show how you would install this type of flooring if you had a wall which wasnt 90 degrees or crooked please?
Thankyou we will be purchasing laminate flooring very soon from your store.
Great job Nick! Can you show how to do cutting on rounded corners? Connections to other rooms?
Is it good producer of the floor ? Quality? I wanna buy the same
Are you using fiber board as an underlay on your installs?
Quick tip, switch up your boards out of 2-3 different packs, that way you get rid of little color variations and such. ( Most manufacutures recommend this in their manuals)
Good job though man! Looks clean!
In 50 years of flooring, wood, laminate, LVT, the amount of herringbone I`ve done up until 5 years ago I could probably count on both my hands. 5 years on I must have done around 50-60. Just shows how much en vogue it is at the moment. As above, if its a drop-lock system it's a lot easier, trouble ensues when both length & width have to be angled in at the same time. Can be a nightmare!

Hi Nick. I am hoping you can help me! What type of laminate floors are you installing in this video? I have had multiple contractors tell me that most laminate cannot be installed in a herringbone pattern and that I need a very specific type of laminate flooring that can be glued down, but I cannot find any that can be glued down.
Pvc click herringbone
Awesome job Nick. I had install the same floor in our living room and kitchen. 55m2 and it cost me a week😰, but nice to do it
a week? i must reconsider if i want a floor like this....
De lo mejorcito que he visto, impresionante
Excellent job. Would you also consider removing the skirting board at the outset to allow for covering up the expansion gap?
Judging by the photos at the end of the video it looks like they installed quarter round or shoe molding afterwards which hides any gaps. If you didn't want to use molding then you would definitely need to make sure the gap is hidden under the baseboard which would indeed require removing boards and reinstalling IF they weren't installed high enough to allow the floor to slide under.
@@cgale337 Installing a quarter round to existing skirting boards is not a professional job.He still doesn't know how to make floors professionally.
Pretty sure what he does reflects what homeowners want to pay, lol.
@@tkinynanz I’m sure he does mate, this was a great job and likely the customer asked for the edging options, I lay flooring and the customers always have a preference, it’s actually harder to mitre in all the edge trims like this than it is to hide it under the baseboard
Your comment far away from proffesional.@@tkinynanz

Would this method work in a room with a bay window?
I’m thinking of this in my hallway into my kitchen/diner where would you recommend to start ? Hallway with the pattern in the middle ?
Hallway with the pattern in the middle 👍🏻
Everything goes to Plan when the Room is Square and Doorways run True
Ok, so there’s no laying out of the floor with a snap line ? I guess that there’s an assumption that all of us are pros like you. Beautiful work though.

Installing Herringbone Engineered Wood Flooring Glue Down - How To Install

Hi mate can you show vidio how to connect that floor when you doing whole floor thysame type 3 different rooms and corridor as well
Question. I currently have vinyl (not vinyl planking) in my kitchen and carpet in my family/living room and hardwood in the main entryway. I want to lay laminate or something throughout the whole house. Once I rip away all the old floor coverings will there be differences in the depth between the different rooms with different flooring materials? If so will it be as simple as just laying like 1/4, 1/2 inch thick boards for example? I assume for example that the rooms with rugs will be lower than the the kitchen floorboards with vinyl because you have to adjust for the thickness of the padding and rug whereas vinyl is not as thick.
If you are removing the current flooring the sub floor should be the same throughout
@@sage_spartacus isn't there variations in thickness between hardwood planks, thin rolled vinyl and carpeting with padding that would creat differences in depth when laid down next to each other?
For example let's say carpet and padding adds up to say 1/2 inch thickness and transition it next to rolled vinyl flooring and the vinyl is say 1/16 or whatever it s thick?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but if you want to lay new floor you will be removing the current carpet, vinyl, and wood flooring correct? Those materials are all different thicknesses but when you remove them you have a plywood or concrete subfloor that is the level throughout your home
@@sage_spartacus correct. I would be removing different types of flooring thoroughly the house. I know the subflooring would be the same throughout the home but I thought remembered when the home was being built that the kitchen had sheets of board laid down in the kitchen with the vinyl to build it up like a 1/4 inch or so.
@@bubbalo3388 I see what you're saying. We redid the floors in the house we bought and they ran a thin plywood under a vinyl flooring in the kitchen as well. We removed all the flooring materials and underlays including the thin plywood sheet. Made it easy to run flooring throughout and not worry about transitions
Why wouldn’t you remove skirtings and pack off the walls then replace the skirtings after?
You have to cut the caulking and try to remove without damaging. The extra money to reinstall, recaulk, and repaint. Or just buy shoe mold or qtr round.
Impressive
Very nice job but how to i get contact you please call me

Parquet installation with plinth mounted.....insulation without adhesive tape?....If it's only demonstrative...it seems ok...It's not ok if it's finally installed!

In many places there are boards with the same pattern next to each other, this is ugly. You need to mix such panels

Muito profissional. Parabéns!!!
Если производитель конкретного ламината не разрешает в тх такую укладку, то НЕ ВЗДУМАЙТЕ укладывать так обычный ламинат. Он встанет на дыбы через какое-то время из-за изменения окружающей температуры и влажности

does this floor creak? i have the same brand and its terrible.
I have just finished laying a herringbone Laminate floor, this video probably saved me half a day of planning and headscratching as it showed each step of the process and how the floor parts come together. Thank you Nick for such an informative video.
Each step of the process, huh. He doesn’t tell you much at all the steps or considerations before even laying it out.
If you take the extra mile to do herringbone instead of normal I would have removed the baseboards first and replaced after floor is laid so the extra trimlines would not have been necessary which i think are "ugly". You go deluxe or you don't. Easy talk by me cos I still have do my own floor. lol
Thank you so much for posting this! I have been trying to find a contractor who can do this so I am sending this video to a few to see if they are willing to learn. Also very enjoyable to watch - good choice of music.
very well done👌 what about the distance between the plinth and the floor? how did you solve that?
Looks good, but does it squeak and creak when walked on?
Hello I have just watched your video which was very good, we are a distributor of that particular product but we have had problems with crisping, this I believe is when you walk on the floor and it sounds like you are walking on a packet of crisps, the manufacturer advises no more than 3mm underlay and to glue all the short ends, have you ever had any problems regarding this? Regards Denny
does this floor creak when you walk on it? i just had it installed and it is snap crackle and pop when you walk over it ?? its unbearable. surely this cant be right?
I’m currently installing this, I had this issue but I was using the previous old underlay which was already there, I pulled it up, started again with new underlay and it’s definitely reduced the crackling by about 95%, I still notice it a tiny bit
If u use 5mm or 8mm thickness and your floor uneven they will creek Make noise use 12mm
Hi this looks great, I’m watching in hopes to educate myself before attempting to fit this style flooring throughout the whole of the ground floor in my new house we are due to move into next week. I don’t suppose you know the shade and where you bought this from do you? I can’t commit to a shade but love this one 🤦🏼♀️ And any chance your available Saturday 17th feb to come for it for me please? 😅
Почему они укладывают ламинат после установки плинтуса?
Богатые ..ещё прибьют один плинтус сверху старого
Great work! I've laid regular straight floors a few times but I've never laid herringbone before, so it's incredibly useful for me to see youre systematic approach to the process.
I am very jealous of how square your walls are, though... I would never be able to batch out all those edge pieces like that...!
Herringbone floor looks really nice. Im just wondering if you are left with a lot of waste flooring after you fill in your cuts on the sides of the room.
Hi Nick,
Great video!
Could you share the link for materials please?
Thanks 👍
I have the same boxes and flooring but it says by each connection to put glue? What are your toughts about it? If yes is wood glue enough?
What is the name of this flooring??
Awesome job, I may consider a room like that if I could find a square enough room with a straight wall in my place!
Is this kronoswiss herringbone?
I know somebody who's kronoswiss herringbone clicks when they walk on it, apparently the concrete floor underneath wasn't latexed/levelled beforehand? Would you recommend always levelling the subfloor first? And what underlay would you recommend? The back of the box says atleast 1.5mm which is what they used, a 1.5mm foam DPM underlay, also the instructions on the kronoswiss shows to glue the edges of the planks aswell?
This video does not include all the troubles that you may come across and just makes a stupid homeowners think they could do the job
Я думаю укладка плинтусов должна идти после укладки ламината?
Fantastic video. As much as I love the look I dont think I've got the skills to do this myself. Regular laminate it is!
Don't you need beading for the end's? As I'm looking to do flooring, I really want to know .
Absolutely amazing. I will have to take a nap and watch this again. Did you have a lot of left over scrap flooring pieces?
The last wall could of used the off cuts from the first wall? And would it save waste by off centring the floor 300mm left or right?
What blade do you use for the meter saw? Anyone have a link?
10 Points
And all that under 17:00 minutes!! Dude, you're hired for life :)
Quick question is that pack A & B boards or all the same
This is so beautiful! I absolutely loved the perfection you displayed in laying this floor!
Haven't got to do one of these myself but i really wanna give it a shot tho, your work looks fucking stellar tho, very nice tidy work area too, love to see it lmao
Для такой укладки нужен специальный паркет или ламинат, у которого короткая сторона с замком укладывается сверху, а не втыкается в паз.
Just checked out your video super impressed. How would you start an uneven room? It’s completely not square in order to get the herringbone look. Thanks.
Плинтуса сначала снять видать не судьба🤣🤣🤣
Nice job mate. Is that a fibre cement board blade your using or what is it??
Well we'll we'll, Iv learnt wonting there 👍👍👍👍
Wonting? 😂 and 2 thumbs up 😂 dyslexia is alive adn kciking. 😂
Great job. I live in the USA, do you have a partner company here or can you give me the name of the product you used so I can try and find it that way?
Good job. In the video, what the cutting blade you used?
Wish you would have just voiced over explaining what you were doing in each step in more details instead of having music. Nonetheless great work and looks beautiful.
Definitely would be a lot better
А примикання до плінтуса чим заделать???Це ж уродство.
Может плинтуса нужно было сначала снять?
Sorry, unless Herringbone is different, seems a lot of cutting to move 3 feet or so! Carpet fitters will probably say- keep it simple left to right! My first Laminate was a few years ago, the guy SEEMED to move like lightning left to right! In no time, MASSIVE difference to living room!
Hello, my friend. Excellent work. Your method is perfect. You made me love this profession. My profession is building painting. Thank you for this motivating video.
Awesome work! Is this flooring available in the USA? I'd love it for my home and business!!
Sorry again, what if 1 of the offcuts just refuses to fit? Still looks VERY messy to me! If someone suggests sideways to me I'll say NO WAY! This guy took an age do one room!
Looks fantastic! What % extra did you get for waste?
What is the model name of the laminate?
Installing a herringbone laminate at the moment on what can only be described as the surface of the moon. It looks shocking. Make sure your subfloor flat people:)
He uses same pattern tiles one next to another. Doesn't spread them across the floor. Then also, he starts at the wall. What would the room look like if you arbitrarily start ar the wall?
I would determine a focal point of the room and start there and go to the walls. And i am not a floor professional. I am a consumer. If someone laid floor like that at my house, i would stop them right away. This is not right.
The beginning display patience & creativity’ wonder how strong this material is’ Vids like this it all make sense as you keeping doing puzzle by puzzle
love your work. getting better for me thanks
