These Songs are traditionals in Bavaria, too, so you can find other interpretations of these songs in every thinkable arrangement in the Bavarian (Bayerische) section, too. Possibly they are known all over the Alps. I love this arrangement, love brass anyway, thanks for posting!

I think they're cornets--possibly fluegelhorns, but a nice mellow change from trumpets on every selection., plus the "Wagner tuba in F" instead of trombone.
warren wilson that’s not a Wagner tuba at all. It’s a baritone in Bb.

I love "Mariäe Wiegenlied", but attempts to search on the name lead overwhelmingly to the Max Reger version with the same name but a different melody. I was familiar with the tune due to an choral arrangement out of the University of Portland. Later, I found "Above, on the mountain" with substantially the same English lyrics: ruclips.net/video/2dm7iMikvc0/видео.html, but no link to German lyrics.
It is more reliably found under the name "Da droben auf dem Berge" or less reliably under the name "Maria auf dem Berge".

Dann gestatten Sie mir noch folgenden Hinweis: Die Trp/Flh- Stimmen sollten möglichst als B- und als C-Stimme, die Hornstimme als F- und als C-Stimme erhältlich sein; damit würde der Kreis möglicher Käufer stark erweitert. Ich denke speziell an die vielen Posaunenchöre bei uns in Deutschland. Dürfte im Computer-Zeitalter keine Schwierigkeit sein. Alles Gute!

@@Apfelstrudl Um. No. It's not sung but played. If you listen to alphorns (Hirtenhorner), you can hear the natural scale and harmony in their playing. So the harmony is deliberately wide to match the sounds made by alphorns. You could even do it on natural horns or trumpets like Julian Zimmermann or Diprose. Why not?
@@AindriasHirt What are you even talking about? These are all songs for voices originally, arranged for brass. And just because it is possible to play on a natural horn (which I have one at home here in Austria), that doesn't need or should be done, because you only have chords of I and V available basically. Also Alphorn isn't even that much widely spread in Austria, moreso in Switzerland.
@@Apfelstrudl The natural scale is so restrictive that if it can be played and recognized with the natural scale, that must be its origin.
Your background may be Indo-European, but you have lost a great deal of your history. I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful, but if you can hear this piece and not clearly identify alphorns, the you have abandoned the culture of Austria. We are all losing our past. History is important. I am not a troll. Please ponder this.
