      Well, I'm a bit biased. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to ride that exact YZ250FX and that thing was freaking awesome! I didn't get to ride the Honda, but I would totally trust these guys' opinions and go with the Yamaha. It was just such a fun bike to ride and as a rider who is somewhat new to dirt bikes, it was definitely a good bike for building confidence (at least for me). But that was an awesome video with some really cool shots! Thanks!

    I bought a 23 CRF250RX and put the Red Moto 300 kit from Athena in it. Got red motos 2.1 gallon tank that slims it down and gets rid of the muffin top tank. Also had the ECU remapped at Tokyo mods. Just installed a flywheel weight from stealthy and it is perfect now. It's the bike Honda should build, just needs a sixth gear.

      Oh nice sounds like it rips. In all fairness, the 2022 is so much better than our old 2019 but I really do wish it would be a bit narrower, 6-speed, and a better powerband.

      Yeah we plan on doing a king of the hill series to see if any other 250F cross country bikes can dethrone the 2021 YZ250FX, we have all our buddies riding these 2 bikes and the we interview them and make them pick their favorite. We also want to take them and do some single track and maybe some moto. Also interested to see if they make changes to it for 2024

    Great Review Guys! I am looking for a small displacement bike that is fun to ride, light, agile & not complex, I ride trails exclusively, I love the feel and agility of a 2 stroke 125/150, as for the 4 stroke family, I like the Yamaha 250 line (mostly in FX) or a RM-Z 250! Thanks for the review!

      Thanks! Yeah big fan of the small bore 2 strokes as well. Such fun bikes. So far the YZ250FX is the king of the hill for me. We spent last Friday with a pro rider that we asked to ride our 250F and 125’s and give his two cents…..we make him choose which one he would own.

    I bought a used 2010 KTM 450 XCW back in 2013 with all the extras that you can think of, always came in late on the last lap in local harescramble races which resulted in a DNF. Rode it 4 years without getting better. When the 2018 YZ250X was launched locally I rode the 125X on the mx track on demo day, I then bought the 250X new, as the FX’s was still new in the market and even used ones was out of my budget, the new 250X was a no brainer, had it jetted and dyno’d and a bit of fine tuning to the motor. What a bike then, on long straights in the races at full throttle it would stay in the powerband until the motor goes almost silent, passing 450 Honda’s and KTM 500’s, waiting for the motor to explode, it never happened, I then sold it as I was planning to move to the US, stuff didn’t work out in my favour so I stayed. Currently looking for a 250FX, was considering the 250RX because I’ll be freeriding and mx most of the time, but this video convinced me to stick to the 250FX.

    I've owned street bikes but never dirt bikes. I am looking to get into woods, xc, singe track type riding. So far I have my eyes on the 2023 Yamaha YX250FX, the KTM 150 ECW, and KTM 250 ECW. I am 6' 220lbs. Any advice on which bike you would recommend for a newbie like me? Thanks in advance. Great vid!

    • @dirtbikesam
      @dirtbikesam  Год назад

      Any of those bikes will work great. The KTM 150 XCW will teach you how to use the clutch and is the best bike if you want to learn the proper technique to get faster. If you just want to have fun then go with the YZ250FX or KTM 250 XCW. The KTM 2 strokes are better at single track and tight woods riding then the YZ250FX. If you have tons of open fast flowy trails then the YZ250FX is better.

    I know this is a year old but anyways. I'm not a fan of the reverse engine on the YZF it just seems weird to me that i don't have a tank in front of me & what happens if the guy in front of you is roosting you - you wouldn't be getting clean air then - & lets say your track riding & it's muddy where do you think that mud is going we all know mud likes to clog the radiators. this goes for dune riding also.
