Hey Kyle, thank you so much for your amazing detailed concise precise and inspirational videos! I has been a semi professional photographer for many years getting paid for gigs here and there but never making a living out of it. I am now wanting to leave my software developer job to get back my happiness and get away from the miserable office. I need to take it to the next level and get inspiration and techniques dialled in. I love your videos for your precision and going by examples every time instead of just talking. Also it's all about your photos and photos technique it's not about your ego I just love that so much. I love watching Manny Ortiz too, because his technique is also Spot, but there's too much advertising merchandising and drama. Your channel is just amazing for being so professional and not flooded with all of these above. Do not Change anything keep the good work!!! And yes your videos really give me the desire to test your courses once I make a bit of money. And really it's what other photographers on RUclips should do instead of flooding their videos with marketing and merchandising they should say okay you want to go further you pay for my quality courses. And separate concerns just like you are doing so well! 😊 Many thanks again 謝謝你!
I love the way that you explain things. Even though I have been photographing for years, I hate using all those high tech terms. I am an ordinary person who loves communicating in that way. Thank you for making this easy
Exactly the type of advice I was looking for. I want to do outdoor portrait photography (of family) as a hobby. It’s amazing to see what you can do with this humble setup!
I don’t have a go to number for the ratio between ambient and strobe. I just check the photos on camera and adjust till I get to the right look. My suggestion is dont test ambient and strobe separately. Test everything together. The exposure and the strobe level will depends on the mood you want to create. If you want to build your own style, don’t follow any numbers.
@larryb0315 I don’t think so, you might find the so called “correct exposure” from the meter doesn’t always give you the look you want to create. I recommend keep training your eyes instead of relying on meters.

@@KyleCongphoto Thank you Kyle! What if you have a light/flash meter, would that help?
