- In the last update on "Beautiful", our 1934 Ford 5 Window Coupe, Matt was able to get the engine to turn over with very little work. Today we are going to work on flushing the engine and radiator of all the rust and debris and start putting the engine back together. On a recent pick Matt was able to pick up two new water pumps amongst other parts for for 34 Fords. After a day of tinkering we made major progress on the "Beautiful" and may have moved her under her own power!!

Matt, just remember - Clara wasn't an "old lady" when she bought the car. This was a "The kids are out of the house" fun car purchase!
Looked like you were hold back a huge ear to ear smile while you were driving it ! I wouldn’t have been able to !! What an awesome video Matt. Congrats on saving the old girl and taking her for her first drive so soon !!
shoot the second time they start it after the othe Gentleman help them put the silver can on it Mike sure does have a smile from ear to ear you know these two are loving it so much
The biggest S.E.G I've ever seen great job Matt.
the shtty music makes me turn it down, then you start talking and I cant hear. Fk this, going to watch other car channels
Continue head banging.
@@lyndelbeckwith1706 obviously You are a manufacturer no class...BYE😁
The look on your face, when driving it - part excitement, part vigilance - is great! Sooooh glad for you! :-D
THE SMILE SAYS IT ALL.....gear heads rejoice around the world! I live it through you guys. Thanks flatty forever !
WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW! That was BEAUTIFUL! I vote for getting off all that tana paint that Clara put on her, make her as safe and dependable as a 90 year old car can be and call her done! Be safe and stay heathy guys. Many many smiles to come in the old car called Beautiful!
You know, that lady, Claire who owned it and tried to maintain it as best she could saw what we see in it all those years ago. It warms my heart a bit in these difficult times, thanks for the video.
I actually was able to forget about where we are now. Sorry it had to end with your comment.
@@ksingleton101 not trying to bring you down, just in it every day, sorry for the jolt to reality, I should have stopped at “it warms my heart a bit”
Old Fords…ya gotta love ‘em. No matter how long they sit they always come back to life.
I don't think anybody could kick that smile off your face @ ~15:00 on. Great to hear an old Ford V8.
Watching you bring this old Coupe back to life has been fun LOL.
That is absolutely bitching! Original paint coming back through looks good too
What an amazing car, Matt grinning from ear to ear the entire road test says it all!
Epic
Beautiful is right, beautifully engineered, beautifully designed and beautifully built. It is such a pleasure seeing this machine still able to do it's work. Wonderful!
Thought you were going to tear your face with the smile you had driving the old girl :-)
Smiles for miles what a beautiful old car hats off to you for getting it running and driving
The grin on your face when ya took the car for a drive ... Priceless . I'm so envious ....
I would like to think that Clara was looking down on you guys watching her old V8 Ford start up, running again, driving again and she’s smiling with pure delight and very proud of your efforts to get this car running again!
So cool. The look on your face driving it is priceless!
Matt the SMILE on your face is worth a MILLION BUCKS....WELL DONE MATE
You really have something there Matt. Who doesn't want a 34 Ford?
I think a 37 would round out your collection to be the most awesome collection one could have.
This car reminds me of so many childhood memories, I’m 30 and when I was 13 I learned to weld building a 34 with my grandfather. He would do a repair on one side of the car then have me replicate it on the other side. That was also the first car I drove. Keep up the good work, like I said lots of great memories with this one 👍👍👍
That’s a great memory!!
Nice car , Matt . She just needed a little love , she got it & look , exceeded all expectations . The smile on your face said it all ! Nice save !
Have to take a few minutes and give a thought to all those dudes at The River Rouge plant all those years ago, the thought of that days production being driven in the year 2021 too wild to even think about!!
That smile on Matt’s face says it all. Good job guys!
I also have a 34 5W Coupe I’ve been driving for 37 years. Was originally built in late 60’s as a hot Rod and I rebuilt it in 1984. In case you didn’t know it, you have an early production coupe. You can tell by the door handles are close to the front of the door. A later car had door handles farther back on the door. Early models used left over 33 door mechanisms. Have fun with your beautiful car. Wish I could find another one.
Awesome, another car in ur stable, what a find , an like everybody else sad ur smile says it all..have a save Labor day with friends an family.😎😎
Driving Beautiful, you looked like the Cat who ate the Canary while going down the street. Ty for taking us along
What a smile! The old girl sounds great! I'd repair the front fenders and other dings but keep as much original paint as possible, and do some mild work on the motor - 2 or 3 97's, some aluminum heads, a little drop and big/little tires - just make a sleeper. You've got some real hot rods to punch when you want to, but this would make a nice subtle daily driver. Shoot, you've got cars like I've got shirts! You deserve it, brother!
Nothing like the sound of an old V8. Music to my ears.
The nice thing about old fords is they keep a layer of preserving oil over everything in the engine compartment.
The smile on your face says you're a happy man, good for you. I love the car and the history of it.
I'd love to see her fully restored painted the color the Lady painted it.
Given how original and we'll taken care of she was I'd say the car deserves it in her memory.
Make it a real trophy winner.
But that's just my opinion.
Great video and the smile on Matt's face at the 15 minute mark says it all. Cheers, Wayne.
Good stuff! The smiles say it all. It don’t get no better.
You guys might consider investing in a steam Genny, it’s a steam cleaning pressure washer, it works mint for cleaning and degreasing and not destroying everything. We have one at work, it works great
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!! BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR NEW PROJECT!!!
The first ride after getting something running or back together is always exciting. It looks great sitting with all the other cars in the background.
Ahhhhh, the smile of satisfaction on your face actually driving Beautiful around for the first time. Congrats!
Best video I have ever watched on here, the look on your face driving it was amazing, looking forward to more content on this one.
Keep an eye out for a temp gauge radiator cap.
Huge respect for you for saving this. That grin when you're driving says it all.
Matt and Mike Seeing this 34 run was awesome. Can't wait to see the next video.
If a couple named Bonnie and Clyde show up, don't lend them the car! Awesome, Matt!
That expression says it all, hard work pays off! Congrats
making such funny faces when you driving ... joy to see her rolling
This was great, not only did you get one of my favourite cars in the fleet running and driving but also just seeing Matt's grin as he drove it one couldn't help but smile! Love to see it guys as always!
That's a very apt name for that car, because I think that she's a beauty!
I love watching videos about these old cars. Very cool, thanks for posting.
Yeah those old bias ply tyres ride pretty bad after they've sat a good while. It's nuts how good this car is, incredible! You looked pretty stoked driving it around.
They do come right after a few long runs.
Watching you work on the food Flathead brings back fun memories, I've built many, tough motors
So happy for you Matt!
you are one lucky skunk! I live on the "left coast". My sister just moved to Ne Hampshire so when we visit her, we may try to come visit y'all. Make sure to give thanks for your abundance..
Great job Matt. That smile on your face tells it all.
That grin on your kisser, says it all!
Great job there Matt, good to see "Beautiful" roar back to life and see the road again. Love your work
Your face while driving the old gal says it all. Great vid.
That car is a ghost on wheels, friggen outstanding.
I'm sure you smile every once in awhile but I personally have never seen you smile this big. Good job and keep posting great videos.
What a satisfying video. Everything you did made it visibly better, especially the pressure washing. I think if this car were mine the only modification I would make would be juice brakes. Great video! Thank you.
First drive smiles are infectious!!! Congrats
Hi Matt, Dennis here from Filer,Idaho..I am glad I found your channel. I have really enjoyed watching your new shows. Thank you
At the end of the day the smiles say it all. How awesome. Cars do talk and this one is saying thanks IronTrap Garage. Glad it went very smooth to get it running.
That smile, living the dream. I will admit it I am a bit jealous
WOW!! That was a big grin. This car is begging for a back to showroom restoration. ONLY after that are you authorized for some light hot rod ding.Great video. Thanks.
That's definitely amazing after setn 60 years. This is how automobile should still be built cause ain't no way today's automobiles will run that long with mostly original equipment lol, and ya gotta love the older stuff, the engineering lasts upto now, the reason most of em are gone, people couldn't afford to keep em going during the depression and they got turned into scrap for war equipment.... So sad for both reasons thats 150% truth. So simple to repair and what not. The ol timers made other kinds of things work when they didn't have the means to get the original parts. I love it lol
Everything about this video is awesome
So cool seeing that car running and driving, it really wanted to be brought back to life! I'm also suprized at how much original paint is left under the brush paint, I can't wait to see it all cleaned off!
Good on ya I know that feeling when you get an old motor to run for the first time. Great to see the excitment on your face like a big kid. Cheers Guys.
Switching to 12 volts is not a big problem just change the bulbs and the generator and you are good. 6 volt wiring is heavier and the starter will spin faster. The biggest problem is with things that have an element like the lights. They will burn out either immediately or soon. So they should be changed to 12 volts.
Sure am enjoying the videos on the old lady! You can tell it was her pride and joy and she took care of it. Iowa surprise by what all you found in the car and what great shape it was. PS... the temperature gauge was on the radiator cap most people think it's a hood ornament.
Well done Matt, great to see another old girl on the road again.
Freaking amazing! It’s so cool how it sat for so long, and with a little work, it’s ready to go!
I am so happy for Matt, it started out with a grin and got bigger and bigger until it turned into a full fledged Sh#% eating grin, you know getting lipstick on both ears, good for you, love to see it.
When do we take a good drive it the Mercury???
I get that same grin every time I pull my 40 out of the garage, my wife asked what the big deal is? I told her when I sit in that driver's seat I look through the windshield with 16 year old eyes, it helps keep me young.
Back in the olden days there was DuPont No.7 Radiator Cleaner. It was nothing more than "Oxalic Acid" in powdered form with a baking soda neutralizer. It worked!! In Socal everyone used plain water and we had rusty cooling systems galore. You can't find it anymore.... but consider this to be a tip. I learned to adjust mechanical brakes from an oldtimer back in 1962. He owned the Richfield Service Station where I worked. He showed me how to adjust the levers and equalizer to get the maximum leverage (which is a good thing). Between 1931 and 1938 Ford's mechanical brakes became improved and with every improvement they became worse. When properly adjusted you will like them much better. As for the square tires just inflate to 45psi. and drive 50mph for one hour on a hot day. This is my favorite of all your cars. '39 Merc is a close 2nd. Stay safe.
34 seems to run and drive 🚗 nicely 👌
Never see you so happy, you were grinning like a kid at Christmas when driving that old lady Ford!
To bad that I am in Brazil. That's the kind of car that I'd like to restore and get it back to it's original glory. Very nice. Amazing how it started so easely, Good job.
15:03....What success looks like, good on 'ya Gang.😄
15:40 → That smiling face says all!
I’m almost speechless…that was awesome!
Matt Mike & crew...Matt you cannot wipe the smile off of your face...pretty cool that "Beautiful" is up & driving!! Be safe...God Bless!!
I can't express how pleased I am that you were the one to aquire this car to the point my eyes are welling up a bit.
One of the other viewers mentioned that Claire was a very young lady when she got this car. I had forgotten that.
Pretty little thing.
Nice to see it run.
Awesome!.........like riding in a time capsule . Thanks !
The smile says it all Matt....
To better hear the internals in the engine: Cut a broom stick and use it like a stethoscope. Place one end on the engine and the other up to your ear. You will be able to get a read on it. A veteran truck driver told me about it. His brother in law ran an Auto Garage out West back in the vintage car days.
Both old girls were waiting for you- the one in your shop and the one looking down and smiling
Matt the big smile on your face when you were driving the ole lady car told the story about the car and I’m really happy for you to find such a gem 💎!!!!!!!AWESOME!!!!!
Wow! Bonnie and Clyde's favorite car
Glorious !!!
That’s so sweet! Great to see you guys getting it going the right way!
Car sounds great, even with the leaks. Keep washing it!😆 looks like you’ll get a lot of that paint off!
I understand the big smile, must be such a feeling driving it!✊
Saved another one. Great job you guys. Thanks for taking us along for the ride
Sweet! She’s Beautiful!
So happy for you man...getting to see you drive it...I was smiling as much as you!
Just awesome….your grin says it all!
i am truly amazed at how little it actually took to make this car run and go. i've had to put more effort into getting 25 year old cars running and moving than you did to make this almost 90 year old gem cruise the boulevard. little old lady owned indeed. she's a keeper for sure!
Fantastic guys! I be having some of the same kind of episodes. Glad all the hard work , lol, paid off. Thanks for the video
Just the big smile on your face say,s it all happy chappie
Amazing. Sitting for that long and it virtually just started right up. Look forward to seeing more on this car. Gonna look really nice in the original colour. Be safe and stay well.
Great to see that you’re NOT chopping it up!! 😀😀👍🏻
This might be my favorite series so far! I love your passion and enthusiasm for this car Matt!!
WOW! What a nice addition to the stable!
