Make the strain
Kryptoian series ,i want you to explain , please dude this is my humble Request to you!
There's vampires on "A Discovery of Witches"
@@Pinkyprincessfiona indeed
Her coming out of the ceiling and coming down was done so well.
Agree that looked so cool!
It looked cool in it's "dated" execution. And I don't mean DATED as in negative. It was similar to the one in Bram Stoker's Darcula. Gravity doesn't work like that on clothes? Who cares. It has to be Unsettling and uncanny, unnatural. The ramp shots in her twitchy movements were unnerving but didn't look like a neurotic tick. But mainly, I liked it because it was an in camera performance.
It was so creepy. Freaked me out.
It was almost insect like.
The vampires from The Witcher are some of the most unique across the spectrum just because they’re an actual species of monster with various cousin and sub-species that fit the bill for dozens of different vampire archetypes while simultaneously subverting a lot of the most common tropes.
And they’re OP as fuuuuck
@@Nutterbutter123 well true higher vampires are op since they outright beat everything a witcher can come across besides maybe jinn but lesser vampires could get taken out by a mob with good info on its weaknesses its the one reason vampires in the witcher hide unstead of rule cus witchers and commoners could wipe out a good portion of lesser vampires and higher vampires woulden't want to fight a mob every other day that would make immortality really annoying
@@Nutterbutter123 I love how, when Geralt found out that Regis is a Vampire, he told him to fuck off, but Regis was like "nah, what you gonna do bout it if I stick around?" Because he knew Geralt would never pick a fight with Regis. As he said "there isn't enough coin to get a witcher to go after a higher Vampire"
Don't forget they are also technically extra-dimsional beings
One of the main reasons I like Vampires is because there's an endless amount of interpretations of them
You can interpret Vampires as a Supernatural Biological Species that's Immortal/Living like the Witcher
You can interpret Vampires as a more traditional Supernatural Curse that's more or less Undead like in Folklore
You can interpret Vampires as a Non-Supernatural Biological Species that's Mortal or Immortal caused by a mutation or Disease like in Underworld.
And honestly the spectrum goes deeper than that, out of any other fictional race, I think Vampires have had some of the most different types across different lore, authors or media. Pure creativity
The Actress who played the Bruxsa her name is Agnes Born a Norwegian, I really enjoyed her play as a Bruxsa and hopefully we will see more from her in future movies and series
The "clicking type noise" is actually an echolocation which is a real thing among the bat species.
you lie!
Echolocation is a myth. So are bats. They're just a story to tell children.
@@Goomsies i don’t know if I’m misunderstanding your comment, but bats literally exist? Maybe you’re right that echolocation is a Miyth, even though I’ve heard a lot about it,but bats are real lol
@@sinaaaisbored4842 All of that was a joke. Bats and echolocation are both real. It concerns me that you would question that.
@@Goomsies I’m sorry but how was I gonna know that you were joking? I thought you were just stupid
I'm actually thrilled that they added the Bruxa (sp?). It was my favorite story that I read in the original books, and I was worried that we wouldn't see her cuz it wasn't hinted at in one of the older trailers. Only the curse.
I haven't played the games, and have only read a few of the books, so thanks for breaking down this creature!
The game is much better than the show
@ I'm just not much for video games in general. Reading the books are more my jam x)
@@riakun very cool. Go try the game
cant wait for you to start the blood and wine dlc good luck
But bruxa doesnt fly and morph like a bat right? Cause The Witcher 3 games, they dont fly.
Bill Paxton RIP played one of the best and most scariest of vampires 'Severen' in Near Dark. Commercially a flop but a cult classic. Not your normal vampire flik but the cast, acting and directing were phenomenonal.
I’m a big fan of bill Paxton so I’ll have to check it out, thanks! 🙏
Nice! thanks for the info. I will check "Near Dark" out.
@@piob9801 the film never actually mentions the word "vampire" but yeah..fantastic flick. for something more recent, Blood Red Sky has a great interpetation.
@Liz bth I didn’t know that either
Fun fact, in portuguese they translated bruxa as lamia because bruxa literally means "witch" in portuguese.
That's because the creature comes from the folklore of Portugal, a vampiress witch that feeds on children's blood in the nights, just like Orianna did in Blood and Wine. The folklore creature is also known as Bruxsa. In galician folklore it is known as Meiga Chuchona ("Bloodsucker Hag") or Sugota ("Bloodsucker").
In old spanish castellano the x is pronounced like a j if you replace the x for a j it would be bruja the spanish word for witch.
@@vicfig26 What you don't realize is these blood sucking bruja exist in real life.
Slim chance you'll encounter one but its still possible. Becareful being alone with beautiful strangers you just met at night.
@@vicfig26 Hahaha hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha hahahaha 👹
@@johnhowlett500 that is true ! I have seen one flying above roof yesterday.
We have just published Bruxa contract on the local pub and awaiting Witcher to arrive by the end of the week.
I felt the “Beauty and Beast” in this episode
Clearly! In the book it’s even more obvious :)
A bunch of the Witcher short stories were a twist on those well known children stories. As you noticed "Grain of truth" was "Beauty and the Beast" but there is more -> Renfri and her band of 7 gnomes and dwarves from "Lesser evil" are from "Sleeping Beauty", and there is also the "A little sacrifice" story which is a twist on Little Mermaid.
About the True High Vampires they cant be tracked by magic or clarividence and looks like each individual has a gift like communicate with animals, command lesser vampires and so on.
I recently find your channel and let me say I loved it you are very good in explaining things.
Thanks for the extra info! And much appreciated glad you enjoy the videos 🙏
Glad to see the monstrous vampire and not the pretty "victimhood" vampire. But if you are getting tired of vampires could you try the Reavers of Firefly/Serenity.
Never heard of it but the names sound really cool, will definitely check it out thank you 🙏
@@coganLollins They appear in a couple of episodes but they are much more fleshed out in the movie
ow the witcher has vampires that fall under the guis of victimhood as well just look at orianna another broxa for example (her broxa form is actualy shown in this video, 7:00 mark, i suggest watching the trailer where her hunt gos down thou, it shows my point). dont get me wrong thou it is fake, they just know how to play the game
as per fiefly movie lore, reavers are just abject psychopaths, caused by a planet wide drugging experiment that was supposed to make the population docile. The drug had the opposite effect on a small percentage of the population causing them to turn into brutal bloodthirsty maniacs, aside form that they are human.
great job as always buddy. your content is well researched. looking forward to the strain analysis.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks you!
I subbed after watching your black mass video…. I had no idea it even existed until your video popped up! Thanks for all the videos you do!
Witcher vampires are nuts, Bruxae especially but Kikkimore also
Kikimora's are insectoids, not vampiric beings afaik?
Glad I stumbled across this gem of a channel
🖤
Blood And Wine is one of the best DLC's ever made. Also I really enjoyed s02e01 Bruxsae episode. I think they did it judtice
I love your channel man. Im addicted to all things vampires.
Me too I love vampires 🖤🧛🏻♀️🩸🦇⚰️
I love the jerky way the bruxa move in the show.
Well, while the family is classified as a vampire in general, in this case we are facing a Lamia, the most iconic vampires that we all know in this saga are known as supreme vampires
She looked like Ciri if Ciri was a vampire. It tripped me out a bit.
I never seen The Witcher, but I do love vampires. Maybe I'll have to check it out.
Keep rocking love your channel
Keep on the good content
Very happy to see the Witcher on the channel! By far my favorite monster verse and their vampires/Lycans are some of my favorite in fantasy. Great video very well researched.
New to the channel, but you could check out the graphic novel “American Vampire”. It’s a fantastic series and I own them all! So good! Also illustrated by a prominent graphic novel artist.
Havnt heard of it but i will check it out, thanks 🙏
Love the videos and this one especially because i love the Witcher, hate that Henry Cavell isn't coming back though, but i would love more videos on the other "species" in the series and even the Witcher itself would be awesome. Keep up the great work i truly enjoy your videos!
Can you please cover the vampires, werewolves and ghosts from Being Human UK please? I've requested it a few times now.
Nice was hoping you covered witcher vampires
Episode 1 and 2 of the second season were amazing 🙌
This was the only good thing about season 2!! I love your video! Good work! 🤜🏻🤛🏻
If you haven’t done it already can you explain the vampires in the series, “V Wars” the vampires are really interesting and I’d love it if you made one.
He explained this so well. I feel so informed & i’ve never even seen it before 😅
Awesome Vampire breakdowns been watching the Playlist you should add Twilight, Supernatural and even Vampire Chronicles I like the details you point out in these videos
I have a huge Vampire collection, there’s not many you’re not covering 😂 Love these vids. The Strain next? Or Buffy :)
The strain is in the making 👀
I really do enjoy this videos of people covering creatures of fiction and myth
Great Video! I couple of suggestions for some of your future Vampire videos: True Blood, being human us, Moonlight and a discovery of Witches.
I love The Witcher show! Especially S2, since I recently started it! Thank you for covering this
you forgot the unseen elder the one that always sleep guarding the door way to their world don't liked to be disturbed they have complete power and dominion over all vampires they can summon swarms of vampires to do their bidding cant be killed each come from a different clan
I left him out because I really want to include him in another video eventually, but I should have given him a mention for sure!
Another like the unseen elder could kill him one who doesn’t share his I won’t kill my own kind bit or some very unknown and nasty sorcery Regis was torn to bits by a powerful mage and of it wasn’t for detlaf he would remained that way
That dude had some super OP MAGIC including fire magic even, and NOBODY explained to me why, and that upsets me!
Thank you, you gave me hope, that my favourite character in the saga had survived being melted down by the spooky science guy
"After some poor decisions" is a very mild way to put it
if i remember coreclty , humans also came into the witcher world during the conjunction. the elves were the original people in the world
I’m such a Vamp fan, your channel is perfect 👌🏻
I wonder what would be your take on vampires from vampires the masquerade . I feel like they have the most complex and rich vampire system.
The real mystery is how the dress of a bruxa doesn't fall down over their hands while climbing down the wall.
Bruxa in Portuguese means female witch. Pronounced broo-sha.
I have read a little bit of the books, but have played all the Witcher games and DLC and oh god… the lore the game has. You can tell the developers are huge fans, there’s so much lore to read that you could spend more time reading than actually playing. I feel the show doesn’t do what little I’ve read of the books justice, and definitely not the game, though the show is more realistic to the character than the game is.
what exactly do you mean by more realistic to the character than the game? because if you've read the books you'd see the show pretty much shits on most of the characters.
Love the videos mate. Has anyone suggested the vampires from Chapelwaite yet? If not, would love to see it
Hi Cogan Lollins!
I have to apologize for my comment under the video on the "Top 5 strongest Vampires in games", where I expressed myself incorrectly, about the Vampires of the Witcher. I hadn't yet watched this video and I had no idea that you clearly already have a good knowledge about these Vampires. I am Sorry.
Best regards to You!
If you think about it. The Witcher is a sci fi setting. These vampires are not even mythical vampires from earth mythology. They are literally aliens from another world. Presumably on their world they had a place in the food chain and survived somehow. However when they first arrive on this new world, they are outnumbered by humans about 1000 to one. So they take on human like appearances if they are capable and attempt to survive. My question is, why forms did they take on their homeworld and what is their homeworld even like?
Love these videos about Vampires. How about a deep dive into the world of Forever Knight?
2:12 I thought the world in the witcher wasn’t “ours”? I’m rusty on witcher lore, a mere casual. But I could’ve sworn I recall humans also entering through the conjunction
will you please do a video about the vampires in True Blood?
one of my favorite fantasy dramas ever
I will definitely be doing a video on true blood 🩸 probably the most requested series recently, and I’ve actually never seen it so I can’t wait to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion 🙏
Not sure if the Netflix show or later books talk about it but the games definitely do and that's the use of the potion "black blood". The trailer for the witcher 3 shows it subtlety when Geralt drinks something which causes his nose to bleed a drop of acidic blood. I'm not entirely sure how the potion works but from what I can assume, it causes immense pain to the consumer by making their blood poisonous and when bitten by a vampire, it coagulates their blood so they cannot regenerate or use supernatural abilities. I'm sort of speculating based on gameplay, the trailer and in game descriptions but I personally find this potion to be fascinating
Gotta say, I much prefer the self-contained stories in this show, like this one.
Agreed! I felt that way about X-files, too! Always preferred the “Monster of the Week” episodes.
Can't wait to see who they cast as Regis
Have you thought about the mini series Dracula (2021) on Netflix? I know it divided some people but I really quite enjoyed it
I have! I really enjoyed it myself and will definitely make a video about it
@@coganLollins yeah I was waiting for this.
Your videos and others as well are really really helpful for those of us who are not gamers (I've never even had a consule) and don't read comics/graphic, etc. I really enjoy this show and others but get confused since I don't know much about these things.
Anyways.... I just wanted to say thank you for talking the time to do these videos and show such patience with people such as myself.
I didn't know elves were vampires in the Witcher lore, that's neat.
u should do it from the games where they have extensive lore of vamps.
'The entire village of corpses' lol
Vampires from the witches are spool freaking cool. They're probably the most powerful beings on that planet. Being almost impossible to kill the strongest vampires as they can and will come back be it days or decades...but they will come back. Regis is the shit.
True blood pleaseee
You need to check out Post Mortem-No one Dies in Skarnes. It’s on Netflix.
Your content is awesome a couple interesting video ideas could be the vampires From the Dusk til Dawn Series on Netflix or the Werewolves from the series Being human
Thank you 🙏 and I definitely want to check out being human, never seen it but have got a lot of requests for it so it must be good!
When are you gonna do a video on the Vampires from dusk till dawn ?? Haven't got a response back from you yet??
so a witcher dosnt have to kill monsters heck most witchers won't even lift a finger unless there is coin in it for them, also what makes a ""monster"" is a very intresting question, in my playthrough of witcher 3 i spent more of my time trying to save monsters from human stupidity.
i can't remember where the line is from but geralt says ""people say a witcher carries two swords, one for monsters and one for men, their wrong there both for monsters"" am paraphrasing but that's about the gist of the line, basically he is saying if he is killing a human they earned it in some way by doing something horrible.
In witcher world humans are just another type of monster that came during conjunction of the spheres. If you think from that perspective they are the most dangerous of the monsters.
how about you start a series where you cover vampire an werewolves from games as well.
I nvr watched the witcher or played any of yhe games but henry cavil seems like litteraly the perfect guy for the role lol
Have you ever played the video game Vampyr? It's one of my favorite RPGs and takes an interesting view on vampires.
Can you please make video on vampires on the helling anime
Will you be doing a video of the vampires of true blood?
Actually Regis died in books when welgefords turn him into glass ,only PR revive him .
The Witcher 3 DLC: Blood and Wine is literally all about vampires and i consider it the best DLC EVER MADE, for ANY game. It is that awesome in its vampire lore. I’m certain u will love it! If u can’t play the game, look up videos of it here on RUclips.
Ps- yes I noticed some of the images were from Blood and Wine, however there is a TON of more lore that could be explored way beyond just the Bruxa. It’s a must for any fan of vampires.
I believe I’ve unwittingly married a Bruxa. There’s no denying the screaming.
The Originals series 3/ and if possible all of series thanks.
Hi I just like to point out that in The Witcher lore true high vampires are capital i immortal. Artillery shells cannon fire being set on fire struck by lightning being turned into a fine Mr physically deleted from existence doesn't matter they won't stay dead there's no known way in the way to actually kill a higher vampire permanently you can hurt them all you want but there's no way to kill them. I think in theory they can kill each other but that's probably not true.
Dude play the game WITCHER 2 and the Blood and wine expansion for more in the Vampires in the Witcher universe
Pls make a video about twilight saga vampires and werewolves
You should look into Vampire The Masquerade series and do videos about the different Types of Vampires
Thanks this episode was the best of season 2
Interview with the vampire !!!! And true blood.
Thanks
Vampires in the Witcher books and games: horror monster, beast you dream in your worst nightmare. Superior in flesh and in the mind, with a lots of powers.
Vampires in the Netflix shows: man-bat.
This was a great episode Witcher is doing amazing I hope it only gets better I'm well invested
What music do you use for your videos? Especially at 6.20 ish in the video? I love the almost cyberpunk-ish feel of it.
Awesome that's only scene that a vampyre Bruxa will appeare season 2 Episode 1?
May I suggest: What we do in the Shadows. TV or Series.
Beauty and the beast vibes
Absolutely!
I remember a quest in the game in Toussaint hunting this beautiful bruxa
Is there any chance you might do vampires that are only in written media? The Tom Holland (not THAT Tom Holland) Vampyre novels are fantastic, as is the Vampire Case Files series by P.N. Elrod. TV favourites of mine are Dark Shadows, Forever Knight, Moonlight and Being Human (the UK version). I see someone has already suggested Near Dark, which I would also recommend. I'd also love to see a video for What We Do In The Shadows, the movie and the TV show. There is so much incredible vampire media out there to choose from. I don't envy your task.
The vampires of Supernatural
I know you don't do games but I think you will like Legacy of kain vampires
Witcher have interesting monster, Vampires are cool too especially the higher vampires since they are basically impossible to kill.
The elder vampire in witcher is probably the most powerful in any vampire incarnation. The thing is unkillable.
do you have a video with Arthur? the one with jude law
Wait what isn’t this beauty and the beast.
Review Dracula the Netflix original. I liked the show but I unfortunately I don’t believe the show will get a 2nd season
Kindred the embrace and forever knight
Another weakness for the vampires in the books is a witcher poiton called black blood the witcher drinks this before a fight with any vampire and one they get bitten it acts like a poison to vampires who bite them making them weaker and easier to kill.
Can you do “being human” uk/us vampires / werewolf’s
