Not all vampires can regenerate (as quickly or at all) in the Blade universe. Quinn, aka mr. Crispy, was a special case. The vampire who turned him belonged to a pure blood House. I cant remember which house, but supposedly the members of this specific blood line could only be killed by decapitation. Which is why we hear from Blade and Quinn about having previous encounters, and Quinn surviving everything. Blade lore is actually quite deep if you know where to look :)
In the blade universe, vampires are looked at as a Biological species, instead of the more common supernatural trope. As a result, religious items and holy water dont affect them. The virus is transferred via saliva in most cases, but is not the most effective means. Vampire blood also carries the virus, and injecting it is far more reliable. Infected humans have, at most, a three day incubation period before becoming a vampire, where symptoms like: aversion to sunlight, and unquenchable thirst become increasingly worse. If the infected human is killed during this period, they will likely still revive as a vampire, unless beheaded or staked through the heart, or in some cases both. Those improperly disposed of will revive at drastically accelerated rate of hours instead of days.

Faustinas- believed to have gained their pure blood status by practicing Santeria (a type of Voodoo). Along with physical strength, they can also control minds, matter and the elements of the world. I really enjoyed the first two blade movies wesley snipes was great in the role but I am interested in seeing what mahershala will bring to the role 💙💙💝🤗
Don't get me wrong, marshala is a great actor. But I fear blade will go the way the ghost rider movies went, because Disney now owns the blade movies, they will be pg13 at best. So the fight scenes will be extremely watered down. The series needs to be r rated. But I might be surprised, I'm not holding any high hopes tho.
Eli isn't a Pureblood vampire- in a deleted scene, he makes reference to his human heart, which he's removed and put in a box, indicating that he was originally a human.
He grabbed his daughter by the throat and with little effort squeezed with enough strength and force to immobilize her completely and have her choking and helpless until he decided to let go. So id say you may be mistaken in that when he chooses to move fast.
About La Magra - 11 purebloods was used, right... but there was another thing that might be a reason why he was defeated. When energy beam strikes through temple it passes through daywalker's sarcophagus, but at that moment it was empty. Probably if Blade was still in there, he would have died too and "transferred" to La Magra as "power-up" as well.
You figured there would be more icelandic vampires in the shared lore. They live in a part of the world that gets low sunlight and everybody is sort of pale there because of the same reason.
We also see Abraham Whistler being cured after he was rescued by Blade in the beginning of Blade 2. The cure was ignored in the brief TV series, instead choosing to theorize that a massive amount of Blade’s serum could curb the thirst if used before the newly turned vampire consumes too much blood.
Fun fact (that someone else has probably mentioned), but the werewolf in the alternate ending that was cut was apparently Jack Russel, aka. "Werewolf By Night", a prominent Marvel character.
On the subject of why Deacon as the avatar of La Magra didn't work, Blade/Eric was supposed to die too, the lightning hit where he was supposed to be before moving down the glyphs to the pure bloods. I read a fan theory on La Magra being Draku's mother which seemed plausible.
To be perfectly honest the ritual that is used to summon the vampire blood god does require the blood of a daywalker that means either blade blood could be used in the ritual to summon him witch did happen in the first movie but drake blood could be used blood for the the vampire blood god summon ritual with both blade and drake being daywalkers but the reason they did not think of asking drake to help them in the ritual is because he hid himself from every one so that they could be able to ask him for help so they used blade blood for the ritual instead as a kinda of back up plan
Y’know… Besides the major time differences in releases and different film studios… The truth, dear readers, is that Blade is set in a Marvel universe where many supernatural threats exist, and Blade is there to end their nights. Meanwhile Underworld’s creators based its theme and tone off of the World of Darkness game lines as well as the Blade movies.
LA Magra was weakened because of only getting 11 spirits and the fact that Blade wasn't locked in the casket when the lightening hit. It was supposed to be 12 pure blood spirits and one day Walker spirit
This always was a question i had,...What would happen to Blade after he "dies" of old age, or completely give into the hunger, would he completely turn into a full fledge Vampir?????
Blade was born a human/vampire hybrid, the enzymes in Blade's blood made him immune to normal vampire bites, uniquely attuned to sensing the supernatural and resistant to aging. Since being bitten by Morbius, Blade has gained many of the traditional powers of the vampire without developing their weaknesses. He has superhuman strength, senses, and stamina, plus an accelerated healing factor.
So whistler was also cured. They actually needed the amount of elders used. Right before she kills him it's explained that they had a extra elder present.
I believe that Reapers were basically what the ancient Vampires were like, but less pure than Dagon. Elder from Blade 2 was just a very old weakened Reaper who wanted to die finally but wanted to make sure the vampire race survived strong. Could he do the same jaw split that the Reapers he created could? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe when they were trying to create pure vampiric strain it became even more pure than that of the elder. the elder was old enough to control his hunger.. or was he? Taking full blood baths seems pretty gluttonous.
Imo being that old I would guess the vampire would have to feed often putting all that hunger on a new vampire could very easily turn it into a feral beast
What about the zombie like vampires referenced I'm the first movie? Karen Jensen's male colleague becomes one, and she encounters him in the pit before hitting him with the bone she uses to escape. They also feature in the game. I think it's explained as some sort of freak mutation that happens sometimes.
These are ghouls, as states above. Its what happens on occasion when a human, infected with the vampire virus, is killed (improperly) before the transformation is complete. It doesn't always happen. But, when it does, it creates a ghoul: a vampire that has no other desire but to feed. It not only drinks blood, but consumes flesh and organs aswell. No matter how much it eats, it continues to decay and rot presumably until it is immobilized and dies of starvation.
It seems that I'm late to this bloodfest, but it's not my fault. This is the first time I see this video. Loved Blade, but it's easy for me to be attracted to this genre. My favourite vampire movie is Dracula Untold.
Eli was weakened by experiments... As he got too frail he started experimenting on mak and this created the reapers... His daughter wasn't experimented on... Hence why mak thought she was his father's favourite
He didn’t grow his hand back. He had someone else’s hand put on his arm. They can’t regenerate lost limbs but they can take a limb from someone else and attach it to themselves, the vampire disease or whatever then heals it on as if it were their original body part.
They make a point of this by showing the big bad regrow his hand from blood after he gets that power boost to demonstrate how powerful he had become. Being able to heal lost limbs without attaching a replacement.
:l he did in fact regrow his hand. There is a Tribe (or 2) of vampires in blade lore that have this ability. Among the regular boosts vampires get simply from the base virus. The curve balls come in when you factor what clan the vampire who turned you.. you could be very unlucky and your sire be from Ashe- which makes you even more susceptible to garlic, sunlight and silver than your brethren. Or you could get lucky like Quinn and your sire be from Cianteto- the strength of ten men and the ability to regenerate lost limbs. There are other cool abilities and tons of really crappy drawbacks depending on who turned you xD Trip to france, get bitten? Whelp, hope you like shedding your skin at night to become a sentient ball of fire. Japan? You have bulging red eyes, but you are fast, nimble and have the stamina of thoroughbred stallion. Oh, and for some reason your body doesnt cast a shadow. Greece? You get the physique and beauty of a god and basically anyone who looks at you will be instantly seduced. Brazil? You basically get the vampire equivalent of a zenkai boost. If you are killed incorrectly, you revive stronger than before. You can brainwash people, manipulate matter and elements..
I think that Eli (the elder in the 2nd film) looks they way he does do to his attempt to become a day walker. He probably had an experiment done to him causing his degeneration and appearance. That's just my headcanon.
Nah, Lestat pretty weak. He cant climb, run, fly, or anything. We have seen Him use compulsion, have immortality, survive Fire, and heal after drinking Human Blood.
@@saturnianrings3920 ??? He has super human strength. And after he drinks the blood of all the ancient vamps he CAN fly and even more stuff like go out in the sun and pyrokinesis.
I love how the series goes off on the typical weaknesses of vampires...garlic, silver, and sunlight. Blades sword, according to the first film? "Acid-etched titanium." (By the way, that would make for a dog-shit sword.)
Ethylenediamine Tetraacetic Acid (E.D.T.A.) is Deacon Frost's weakness (the current chosen avatar), NOT" The Blood God's weakness. La Magra" has no weakness -itself.🌈🤓
Hilariously EDTA does not actually damage normal blood cells in humans...it will, however, allow transdermal drugs to pass through skin and into the bloodstream
i don't get why they made him still age like a normal human in the movie, in the comics he aged slower. He should at least still age slower then human cause he has the vampires healing factor, and accelereated healing would also result in decelerated aging. Plus when he gets old then his vampire powers will probably deteriorate as well, thats why it sucks that he still aged like a human
Correction" in the cinematic "Blade" the Karen Jenson retro-viral serum will not kill Blade. Dr. Jenson told Blade that her serum will make him completely normal, Blade will lose all of his vampire strengths.🌈🤓
The vamps at the “Blood Bath” were just greedy. They have blood literally raining down on them and they all worried about the one “person” in the room 😂sorry that just always bugged me like look at the blood yall are wasting, no wonder yall always so hungry
Fun fact Hannibal cane and the nightstalkers is an actual old w**** adventure comic from marvel. So just like blade Hannibal cane is a comic character. And they basically deal with supernatural threats and creatures throughout the marvel universe. So where will showing up in the deleted scene makes perfect sense because everything from Lovecraft to Bram stoker exists in the marvel universe.
You should expand to anime and not just vampires and werewolves. It'd be interesting to see a more indepth explanation of the vampires in the Helsing anime ( more so to me from the very first original series of 13 chapters since there was a Nosferatu and some man made vampires and of course Alucard) Also the lore of Vampire hunter D ( the first one and blood lust) Also Berserk. @Kabane Guts is indomitable. It is his will and stubbornness that allows him to struggle against the darkness and causality. That stubbornness is a major factor in him being so strong: insisting to learn sword play with a full size sword as a runty child from the time he could hold a sword. What else could one expect from a child born in wartime, from a corpse, swaddled in mud and blood?

Actually the movie Blade is based off of the Blade from the animated Spiderman series from the early 90s. That was when Blade was first shown as having all the vampire powers with none of the weaknesses due to being half vampire. Even Whistler is from the Spiderman animated series and wasn't in any of the comics. The flattop hair and leather was also a thing years before the movie and the Blade from the spiderman animated series also had a flattop and leather outfit.
i think the video above missed the Zombie Vampire from Blade 1 , Dr Karen's old boyfriend was turn into a decomposing Zombie like creature , they mention sometime it happen , the dead rise don't regenerated , but turn into a decomposing and insane creature like Zombie .
Yes you are right I did miss that part! But yes if the vampires are deprived of blood for too long they seem to turn into zombie like creatures
@@coganLollins
In the case of Dr Daren's old Friend , He was bite and killed ,some mutation or rejection must happen during the transformation from dead , I think Zombie should be consider a subspecies of Vampire .

The blade vampires are by far the coolest in any movie or series
🤔 I always wondered why we didn't see Karen Jenson in Blade 2 or 3, although she was mentioned in Blade: The Series.
Hey there, James! Would you recommend the series you mentioned?
I have only seen the movie.
yeah me too I've thought that she was gonna to come back & her and Blade become lovers and slay vampires together bcuz they basically pretty much on the low have feelings for each other on the first movie
if you really pay attention?
I really enjoyed the first two blade movies wesley snipes was great in the role but I am interested in seeing what mahershala will bring to the role 💙💙💝🤗
Not good fight scenes. Stuntman and cgi fights. Boring. Poor fight scene camera angles and quick cut fights. Matshalla cant fight
Blade still 1 of my fav movie franchises and it’s insane how many times I’ve seen all 3 trinity is my fav OFC🖤
Same I watched blade 1 over 100x
Eli isn't a Pureblood vampire- in a deleted scene, he makes reference to his human heart, which he's removed and put in a box, indicating that he was originally a human.
Wrong
@@Karl-nv5ok Right
Wrong. Blade ages slower as well. The stuff blade takes stops him from wanting to drink blood
In the movie blade 1 whistler explains that blade ages like a normal human
Wesly Snipes my nikka! I used to carry the VHS movie around in my backpack
He grabbed his daughter by the throat and with little effort squeezed with enough strength and force to immobilize her completely and have her choking and helpless until he decided to let go. So id say you may be mistaken in that when he chooses to move fast.
Actually, the vampire that Mercury killed was apparently the thirteenth member. There were no empty spots on the sacrificial positions in the temple.
The reapers are such a cool idea of evolved vampires
You figured there would be more icelandic vampires in the shared lore. They live in a part of the world that gets low sunlight and everybody is sort of pale there because of the same reason.
Blade is one of the best vampire superhero movie ever made.
I like this explanation.
Everybody is weak to a stake through the heart. No vampirism required.
I would like to introduce my friend, we call him Punctuation
They was setting up for a blade and underworld crossover…that’s why they had that werewolf at the end
That would be fun but crazy
It would have been such an awesome cross over
Y’know… Besides the major time differences in releases and different film studios…
The truth, dear readers, is that Blade is set in a Marvel universe where many supernatural threats exist, and Blade is there to end their nights.
He ages slower than normal in the comics, makes sense to have him age like humans for the film tho~

1:05 You forgot that Whistler is also cured of vampirism by the retrovirus serum.
He shot himself after being bit by a Vampire in the first movie. In Blade II, Blade saved him, and then he finally died in the awful Blade Trinity.
So whistler was also cured. They actually needed the amount of elders used. Right before she kills him it's explained that they had a extra elder present.
That "Howl" looking werewolf in the end...lol Or "In the Company of Wolves".
@@ArrancarfighterOfficial good theory actually
Actually, I believe it was stated in the first movie that he ages much slower, but he does age vs the immortality of full vampires.
"Weak to stakes through the heart"
I mean calling that a weakness is...like....something
You almost covered all the creatures in Blade series, but you forgot to mention Dr. Curtis Webb who turned into a zombie in the first film.
My favorite part about Eli is he looks like marble which is traditionally what incredibly old vampires look like
I'm soo happy I found your channel
Glad you enjoy the videos! 🙏
Love this series bro, such detail and it’s like you’re basically watching a director’s commentary keep it up man
What about the zombie like vampires referenced I'm the first movie? Karen Jensen's male colleague becomes one, and she encounters him in the pit before hitting him with the bone she uses to escape. They also feature in the game. I think it's explained as some sort of freak mutation that happens sometimes.
Ghouls
makeme wonder what happen if ghouls got reaper strain in them .
Blade is the baddest ass of all the vampires!
I think the Blood God isn't dead, he's a god, immortal and invulnerable, when Blade killed Frost, the god lost his vessel on earth
You should do the Vampire and Spiderman crossover where even Blade shows up.
I think the pure bloods age, but the ones that turn don't. Would explain how "born" vampires become adults.
It seems that I'm late to this bloodfest, but it's not my fault. This is the first time I see this video. Loved Blade, but it's easy for me to be attracted to this genre. My favourite vampire movie is Dracula Untold.
The most amazing thing about the entire blade series is it's all based on actual events
Ok buddy
Lmfao
😂😂😂😂
Blade 1 & 2 were so good
There was a deleted scene, where you actually see Morbius. Original plans were Morbius for the second movie.
Udo Kier was actually Dracula in “blood for Dracula” which also had a unique story
Blade dosnt age at the same rate as a human. He isn't nieg immortal like the other vampires either though. He ages at a very slow rate.
Whistler is also cured from vampirism by the beginning of the second movie
Your correct Blade did age but not like a normal human but at a much slower rate.
I ya...I ya can't stop...flesh of flesh. Mind of my mind... Two of kind but one won't survive 🦇
Did you know that Wesley Snipes was in prison while he was making the blade Trinity movie
Eli was weakened by experiments... As he got too frail he started experimenting on mak and this created the reapers... His daughter wasn't experimented on... Hence why mak thought she was his father's favourite
Whistler was also cured of vampirism
There are other cool abilities and tons of really crappy drawbacks depending on who turned you xD
Trip to france, get bitten? Whelp, hope you like shedding your skin at night to become a sentient ball of fire.
Japan? You have bulging red eyes, but you are fast, nimble and have the stamina of thoroughbred stallion. Oh, and for some reason your body doesnt cast a shadow.
Greece? You get the physique and beauty of a god and basically anyone who looks at you will be instantly seduced.
Brazil? You basically get the vampire equivalent of a zenkai boost. If you are killed incorrectly, you revive stronger than before. You can brainwash people, manipulate matter and elements..

In the comics Frost turned himself into a vampire like Morbious did
Frost did the same thing in the anime series too.
I think that Eli (the elder in the 2nd film) looks they way he does do to his attempt to become a day walker. He probably had an experiment done to him causing his degeneration and appearance. That's just my headcanon.
Never watched blade but now I kinda want to
Oh you definitely need to watch the first two blade movies they are great but the third movie is awful 🙂🤗😊😉
Truly the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Dude really! One of the best vampire superhero movie ever made. I own them that's how brilliant they were.

what ur top 5 strongest vampires ?
Blade
Drake (blade trinity)
La magra (Blade)
Lestat
Marcus corvin

just found this channel loved the vid have subbed and pressed the bell hello from Scotland :)
I love how the series goes off on the typical weaknesses of vampires...garlic, silver, and sunlight. Blades sword, according to the first film? "Acid-etched titanium." (By the way, that would make for a dog-shit sword.)
Blade and Celine in a movie. How I wish.
Blade does age slower than regular people. Blade should be near 50
Yes I should have specified although Whistler says doesn’t age like a vampires it’s still slower
Don’t forget Old Man Whistler got cured in the second film as well.
I don't know why, but that guy complaining that vamps became weak, while his eyebrows are waxed, just cracked me up. Ok, mister metro caveman
2nd blade movie was the best . It still scares me to this day
Unpopular Opinion : I actually thought the entire Blade Trilogy was great
I agree I think trinity is underrated
You should expand to anime and not just vampires and werewolves.
It'd be interesting to see a more indepth explanation of the vampires in the Helsing anime ( more so to me from the very first original series of 13 chapters since there was a Nosferatu and some man made vampires and of course Alucard)
Also the lore of Vampire hunter D ( the first one and blood lust)
Also Berserk. Guts himself (how the heck was he so strong).
Griffith and how he came tobe Femto.
And the apostles etc etc
I haven’t watched too much anime but I will definitely look into these! Thanks a lot for the suggestions 🙏

I hate to start an argument, but there's a scene in Blade 2 suggesting that Eli was originally human. The scene involved Eli and his human lawyer.
I don’t think that he is human. He is an ancient greek pureblood.
This is why I like blade
You know I thought that Eli character should have been Baron Blood
Great story line and actors
When you said we could have seen werewolves in the next movie I laughed because I thought "he's owned by Marvel we could have seen Deadpool in the next movie for all we know"
Blade doesn't age like a normal human. He does age but extremely slowly once he hit his prime.
You must not have watched the entire Blade series because there was one other vampire who could walk during the daytime
If you are referring to the scene where Frost approaches Blade with the little girl in the daylight, Frost was wearing a very strong sunblock-style makeup.
I have a question: if Blade consumes blood Daily, Will he still aging normally or his aging will lower?
