    Forgot to mention in the video, but Lunge does not interrupt combo either and can be chained with dodges to hold your combo's position. Great for general mobility and repositioning with a finisher on deck.
    Siegfried Build Suggestions:
    Recommended damage Sigils are 1x Tyranny or Life on the Line and 1x Stamina to hit damage cap (slightly below cap on first hit of Uwe, not a big deal if you're using the extra sigil space on CDR and Cascade)
    God roll on personal sigil is Ingenuity / Damage Cap. Paired with Crit Rate / Damage Cap you have plenty of room in your build to max CDR / add utility, such as Linked Together, Uplift, or Nimble Onslaught.
    All else is pretty typical, 65 Damage Cap, War Elemental, 1-3 Supplementary Damage V, etc.
    Recommended Skills:
    Online - Uwe, Nelah, Mirage, Salvator
    Offline - Uwe, Nelah, Verdrangen, Salvator
    Over Mastery Priority - Normal Attack Cap 16-20% / Crit Rate 16-20% / Skill Damage Cap Up 12-20% / (Stun Damage)

    Nice showcase!
    Very concise packaging of information!
    While I can see why people are a little disappointed in his damage output compared to some of the rest of the cast, he offers a lot of utility. 2 of the best defensive buffs in the game, built in super armor on his perfect string, a gap closer on a normal and as a skill. Sieg is a well rounded character, just not maybe the DPS monster people would think he would be from his Guts expy appearance.

    Pretty sweet! I think the hardest part about this isn't the timings and cancels, but recognizing them or feeling them in the middle of a fight. The camera and particle effects of a team make it super hard, i mostly use camera shake to indicate timings which can feel awful.

      Controller rumble is my go-to way to tell when to time the attacks if things are too visually chaotic. Doesn't help with the dodge cancel timing, unfortunately, but it works otherwise.

    Another tech to point out that can’t be showcased well in Sir Barrold is expanding on that dodge cancel for perfect strings. Basically the ability to dodge and progress the combo up to the perfect finisher in tandem with what’s happening in the fight. (Whiff perfect strikes are important here as well for that matter)
    For example, when bosses move further away due to break or some mechanic with their attacks. If you’re in the middle of a combo, in addition to the triangle lunge to close distance/stout and keep combo going, you can also dodge to maneuver/reposition while pressing square each time Sieg’s feet touch the ground. Skipping the attacks to get to finisher when you physically can’t attack in that moment is obviously beneficial because the higher cap for those finisher hits, as well as the stout/cooldown Trait bonuses for his character sigils which you want to basically keep up as endlessly as possible. Improved dodge feels like it was literally made Siegfried when you consider all of this from an offensive standpoint- fully maxed you can dodge all the way to wherever the boss is and have the finisher be the only attack you actually let happen without dodge animation cancelling.
    When I realized this after messing around for a long time in practice, it changed the way I played him. In another comment someone pointed out that sure Siegfried isn’t out DPS’ing any character in a controlled environment with perfect loops- but where he shines is sticking to the boss the majority of the fight with these heavy constant hits. The uninterrupted and defense boost bonuses from stout allow you to stick like glue without worrying about what’s going on if you build him right (i.e. drain, defensive sigils), albeit OHKO attacks which you just need knowledge of the fight you’re in and when to dodge.
    He will not be easy to master and probably isn’t for someone that wants simple combat with big damage bursts. But for someone that likes engaging combat and being a tank, on top of some of the best unique party defensive skills that aren’t just an invincibility bubble, Siegfried is perfect.

      I'm hoping they make him easier to master with increasing the window for perfect execution combo attacks. On the dummy sure it feels reasonable but when there's loads of things happening, your average player is going to struggle.
      here's hoping him and ganzo get timing buffs along side their much needed damage cap buffs. id' be cool also if sieg's time attack from a dodge would make the attack like a dodge. Could see some cool aggressive play with it and the bonus invincibility to keep it on the offensive.

    The only problem with Siegfried is that he only has so much hit counts on his attacks where it's where his main damage from. They need to make every single hit has bigger damage cap. He can only do 210k per pefect execution and that's with max damage cap from every source (excluding finisher). Even Supplemental Damage doesn't really help because he doesn't have much of a hit count and you really want to have 100% chance for that. Also if he is fighting enemies that's at the edge of map like Vulkan and Proto Bahamut, he gonna miss some attacks cuz his sword cant reach the target LOL. Especially when it's juggling around.

    Still feel Sieg's damage cap needs to be upped accross the board. Pretty substantially at that...
    Finally got around to playing Ferry, Eugen, Io & Cagli over the weekend and fucking hell it's depressing how far behind Sieg is just from numbers alone.
    The others don't need to bother with timing, has ample gimmicks or distance to keep the pressure, and really good support skills on top of just braindead play style/ rotations.
    Sieg and Ghanda definitely needs a at least 35% damage cap up accross the board (except SBA maybe) and some form of innate damage reduction on perfect executions' hyper armor just to contend with the rest at this point....
    How Cygames failed to realize the 2 most "high execution" characters being the least rewarding to play per se just from numerics alone is mindboggling.

    i really think they need to increase siegfried and the brawler guy(forgot name)'s damage caps, i mained sieg for a few days and for the work i put in to time my attacks, i feel like other characters do way more damage without having to perfectly time anything, for example, i picked up eugen and i was blown away by bow much worse sieg is in comparison, currently i see sieg as a support dps due to the insane 70% def buff which i think is op and a must take if u play online, randos suck at staying alive in general

      I think they need to re-evaluate dmg caps in the game to allows buffs to do anything. That being said might need to nerf those 70% dmg buffs if so.

      Yeah feels bad, I fully invested into Sieg from the start. Fully awakened his terminus weapon, but it doesn't even matter when the dmg cap is so low compared to other characters. I guess the trade off is the utility he brings but still.

      Agree with you, they should make at least a skill to add cap up for both Sieg and Gandhagoza. Sieg got that one dead skill that add 15% atk each perfect combo hit, they could make it additional cap with each perfect combo imo

      @@Andrew-jj1gc when i played sieg, it was almost impossible to fail the quest with randos, cuz every 1 shot becomes a non 1 shot with that crazy def buff, so i guess one could argue sieg is just a very reliable and steady character, ur not gonna have the highest highs, but also not going to have the lowest lows

      cancel an attack into it as soon as it hits, but don't interrupt your regular combo finisher unless you have to.

    great guide, one thing i struggle with is that sometimes i mess up my perfect execution combo because of the skybound art animation coming at the same time when im about to use my next attack. do u have any advice to avoid that

      After the skybound animation, you can press dodge to save your perfect timed attack, your perfect combo will carry on

      You can lunge (if you aren't at perfect execution yet) or dodge to reset the timing of the combo string.

      Along with the above, I would also practice whiff perfect timing as you can continue the combo even if an attack doesn’t land. The video creator demonstrated this at 3:48

    Which skill can he cancel into the new combo string. I only manage to do a few skill. It seems like all the timing of each skill is different. I am very consistent at keeping his combo string but I don't know how to keep them going after using skill. I always feel that I am doing something wrong when I go at long time and not doing skill or spaming all skill in a row then reset with dodge and start a new combo string

      Unfortunatley, none of his skills allow you to resume his combo. Uwe starts a new combo but replaces the first hit of the string, that's about as close as we get to skill optimizations.

      Only the Uwe can be followed with an empowered strike, the others you shorten the animation with a dodge and start a new combo with a normal swing.

      @@SanctusG I see. So I have to end the skill spam with it to save 1 hit of the combo string. I am learning him because his terminus weapon just dropped for me the other day and I got 2 of his personal sigil with crit rate and drain

    So it looks like you are hitting the attack button when the weapon hits the target for perfect timing right?

      You can use the hit-stop when connecting with a target as an easy indicator for when to press. When you're doing an empty swing, the timing is about halfway through the swing animation.

    Very fun to play, terrible in term of DPS.
    I'm having a lot of fun playing Sieg with his tech, he is my first character that I maxed out because of how fun he is to play. They really need to do something about his perfect execution damage cap. You're punished so hard for not being able to time it, but when you do, the damage is very anti climatic, especially the combo finisher.

    i dont understand 0.52 how you finish attack after two hits

      In that sequence, Lunge replaces the 1st hit of the combo and the 2nd and 5th hits were canceled into dodges.
      You cancel the startup of a perfect attack into a dodge, and then continue your perfect attack chain during the end of the dodge. This is possible due to dodges not breaking character combos, and Siegfried being able to time a perfect continuation off of the dodge animation.
      Keep in mind, this isn't a DPS increase. You only do things like this when you have a short damage window, or you need to actually dodge attacks during your combo.

      Your combo finisher changes depending on if you perfectly timed the entire combo or not. If you perfectly timed the full 5 hit string, you get the "Perfect Execution" follow-up attack by hitting Y/Triangle as you land the last hit of the finisher (or after dodging the startup of the finisher).

    Its easy to time attacks at the dummy but upon facing certain bosses you either miss or can’t see shit thus missing time attacks and also slow at raising SBA. I recommend looking at other characters before maining this one.

    I did main sieg for like almost a week and he has some really bad problems. At dmg cap his buffs expect drain and deff up are useless. Also his dmg cap for his perfect attacks is also mega low and needs a pretty big push. In comparison Lancelot has a freeze and a sup dmg buff that work way better in the dmg cap than end game builds. Like why play a way worse and harder character when Lancelot has a better kit freeze and braid dead combos.
    But he isn’t the only character that needs help. Rosetta's only good buff is the deff buff she has and the rest does absolutely nothing in this type of endgame meta the game has.
    Also this game has some atrocious targeting system and range being way more relaxed to play and they do the same dmg as the meeles. Like a maxed out eugen does shit tons of dmg without doing anything and being at a save distant we’re even in blood thirst mechs he can just keep the dmg up.
