The Raw Footage from an epic barreling day at the La Jolla Reefs. One of those days it was critical to time your paddle out and jump off the rocks as there was no sand or beach left. All the main La Jolla locals were out charging such as Jon Roseman, Henry Hunt, Jojo Roper, and more.

Love this wave when I visited La Jolla, perfect slab for bodyboarding and I only saw 3 other guys out with me with a boog and the rest were surfers. I was very surprised. Same thing at Horseshoe reef

It varies from swell to swell. Have seen sessions with the opposite lineup make up. Its an amazing spot.

Yeah its such an amazing break. Totally agree, you can definitely get punished at this spot. I took one of my worst wipeouts there years ago. Absolutely got rocked by the lip, then slammed into the reef, and finally scorpion over and smashed my knee on a rock head. Felt like a truck hit me.

totally agree. have had some brutal impacts with that reef over the years personally and seen some horrible wipeouts and friends get hurt. its no joke.
