Mpress is IMO the best all button out on the market right now. Worth mentioning A) while it doesn't feel like a keyboard the way a SBM does, it does use mechanical keyboard switches and is compatible with any standard MK switch so you can really dial into the feel you want for the buttons (I use zylents 62G tactile, and it's amazing) B) something you didn't address is button size and placement. They run rimless 30mm buttons that are spaced the same distance apart as hitbox's 24mm, so there's no awkward feeling of buttons being too small while maintaining that tight spacing. Also worth mentioning the buttons are in a vewlix layout rather than the Noir layour standard for Hitbox/Snackbox. C) the "cheat mode" you mention was reviewed after daigo showed up with it, and while it was banned at that tournament, it's currently legal under Evo rules, which means it's legal basically everywhere besides the CPT which notably does ban it.

Jiyuna my man, your explanation of this feature is incorrect. The difference in the 2 modes you are talking about is that in one Left + right = Neutral, in the "cheat" mode Left + right = whichever one is pressed second. Pressing the second direction clears the first one. So you cant charge back while holding both directions in that mode, it doesn't work like that. There actually comes an issue with that second mode as well. Things like Half circles or QCF from holding down back become much more difficult to perform due to the fact that you can accidentally skip over the down input by pressing the forward input too soon. Also, that mode is not banned as it still does not allow you to input 2 directions at once. It will always take the second input you enter. But yes, it is good for booms and charge moves.
@@OmnipotentO yep. you charge maybe a frame or two faster with leverless + SOCD cleaning disabled. It's really not a big deal at all, and not actually banned in tournaments. Also easily doable on a standard PS pad

I’m ok with box controllers mostly because the true fairness would be to only allow official controllers for the consoles where the game is available, and that would be dumb. So let box controllers go wild, you’ll still need to learn the game and controller execution can only take you so far.

so, the back + forward = forward mode is not really cheating considering pad does this naturally (in street fighter, at least. idr how other games fuction with it) when you hold back on dpad and forward on analog. if anything, it makes it in line with pad. makes it easier to use than pad, as well. and since pad isnt cheating (lol. lmao), cheatbox, i mean leverless boxes are not cheating.
Yeah, it’s rough. I ordered my snack box in May of this year and got it in August. So it’s better to be on the lookout for when it becomes available again.
Someone wins EVO with a Garmin G1000 with Cirrus Perspective complete airline controller "Aight and we're back with another one, today folks I think we found our Hitbox killer straight out Microsoft Flight Simulator winning Strive" I honestly kinda wanna see that.
I am getting vibes of times when I competed in a VR shooter (communities were even smaller than FGC) and ended up leaving because you were forced to cheat too and changed dynamics of the game were no longer fun. Aside from different controllers providing different benefits, SteamVR allowed reconfiguring buttons that practically allowed cheating (jiggle peaking) and tournament mods refused to do anything about it because they were in top teams that were abusing these systems to death. This made harder for newcomers to join and, in my opinion, ended up damaging the community.
I really think that this is where the FGC is heading with these new controllers/devices. I mean, I don't think that there's something wrong with these as they provide a "different/precise" way to play the games now. The issue is only in the tournament scene, where there's going to be discourse about these tools. This whole debacle will end, if the tournaments start to become standardized as in the main tool will be to play on stick, hitbox, pad, with coconuts, driver force, keyboards etc. Until then, I'll just watch some matches without caring since, we are at point where you might not even know if the guy is winning because of the device or skill.
@@ConnieFWill last win gets rid of a few "cheating" shortcuts on hitbox controllers too lmao. Like double qcf by mashing db twice while holding forward. But it makes tk roll on bridget easier so I'm definitely going to try to get one
I purchased an MPress and got it about 3-4 months ago and continue to have issues with it. DO NOT BUY AN MPRESS It has issues where the board will short circuit if the screws holding the center of the controller together are slightly tightened, or if you just push down slightly too hard on the controller,. It will disconnect your controller and you have to unplug and plug it back in again for it to come back. I discussed this with the support team and apparently they are already aware of the issue and their only solution is to keep the screws loose, and by loose, like very loose. There is even a worse issue with the USB-C connector. The cord does not sit properly in the socket, and even the slightest movement will disconnect the controller. You basically have to sit perfectly still while playing or it will just disconnect you. The amount of times I got disconnected because my cat just breezed by the cord, barely touching it and I lost the game due to a disconnection is countless. I have owned PS3/Xbox HitBox for more than 5+ years that I've never had issues with it, it is by the far superior controller. The MPress has caused nothing but problems for me since I've owned it. DO NOT BUY AN MPRESS
I don't think that was a good demo of SOCD shenanigans because I'm pretty sure both of those actions are pretty easy even without SOCD tricks. Could have tried demonstrating it on Raiden's trials or something lol
This video seems confusing/uninformed. Last-input priority USED to be banned, but has been widely legal for a while now. The Gafro-box is even called out by name in the EVO rules as a controller that is allowed. TOs realized the arguments against it were just boomer shit(same as all the anti-hitbox arguments), and that it explicitly falls under the controller rules they laid out. Also offering no real advantage, and actually losing a lot of them due to losing SOCD neutral shortcuts.
Be careful with this company. Terrible customer service. Got an MPress and sent it back three times. It still randomly disconnects. They won’t do anything about it anymore because it’s out of warranty now D:

I’m ok with box controllers mostly because the true fairness would be to only allow official controllers for the consoles where the game is available, and that would be dumb.
So let box controllers go wild, you’ll still need to learn the game and controller execution can only take you so far.
never knew about the cheat flash kick
someone with daigos reactions with better access godlike dps is crazy
gafrobox was legal at last years evo, the rules let you use last input wins socd now.
Want to look at a hitbox that'll trigger ALL the boomer stick users?
Go look up Anklegator's custom hitbox.
It has so many buttons on it so he can swipe across various directions to perform pretty much all of Potemkin's tech 😉
Who else went nuts @5:33?
Apparently this is actually legal in tournaments.
I'm thinking about getting an Mpress myself just because the buttons are all 30mm. not only that but the acrylic case when veiwed from the side looks really sick too
It's really beautiful.
I love my M Press controller
Man, I've been waiting over a month just for my Mpress Evo edition to ship
Biggest downside to all the leverless controllers is availability.
so, the back + forward = forward mode is not really cheating considering pad does this naturally (in street fighter, at least. idr how other games fuction with it) when you hold back on dpad and forward on analog. if anything, it makes it in line with pad. makes it easier to use than pad, as well. and since pad isnt cheating (lol. lmao), cheatbox, i mean leverless boxes are not cheating.
It's legal!
Damn now I want this, but I still need to get the snackbox for my steam deck.
Aris warned me about you indecent folk
Waiting for a PS5 snackbox
Lord Aris is a prophet
Wish mpress would be in stock
It’s back!
@@Neoxon619 yeah i got the email for it! but cant afford it this time around LOL the timing is so bad
If you don't rock a keyboard at every event you ain't doing it right
I'm trying to win evo here and every kind of cheatbox: snackbox, mpress, hitbox is all sold out. what the heck
Play pad.
Yeah, it’s rough. I ordered my snack box in May of this year and got it in August. So it’s better to be on the lookout for when it becomes available again.
Someone wins EVO with a Garmin G1000 with Cirrus Perspective complete airline controller
"Aight and we're back with another one, today folks I think we found our Hitbox killer straight out Microsoft Flight Simulator winning Strive"
I honestly kinda wanna see that.
As someone who has played on all different controllers, the advantages are HIGHLY overstated.
"so this part got banned in tournament, so we made it a little button on the side so no one will know". Like what's even the point.
that mode's not actually banned, at least not at EVO
@@ConnieFWill it is. You have to have socd enabled. It's in the rules. That just disables it
@@omgdisfunny4852 no, it's last-win SOCD cleaning, no SOCD would allow both inputs through at once
@@ConnieFWill last win gets rid of a few "cheating" shortcuts on hitbox controllers too lmao. Like double qcf by mashing db twice while holding forward. But it makes tk roll on bridget easier so I'm definitely going to try to get one
Apparently it's not banned!
this thing is beautiful, kinda scared to make the jump from normie arcade stick to something like that.
I got the last one :)
I'm completely against the cheatbox, but I do have to admit, the build quality is pretty sick. I might just have to cop one on the dl.
This shit's moving too fast, I hate living 2 years behind everyone
I only just got a damn hitbox in June... that's arriving this week.
GO1 the best player plays on stick, I keep playing on stick. (AAAnd I'm too lazy to do the switch...)
I purchased an MPress and got it about 3-4 months ago and continue to have issues with it. DO NOT BUY AN MPRESS
It has issues where the board will short circuit if the screws holding the center of the controller together are slightly tightened, or if you just push down slightly too hard on the controller,.
This issue is corrected in the CEO revision and on.
I don't think that was a good demo of SOCD shenanigans because I'm pretty sure both of those actions are pretty easy even without SOCD tricks. Could have tried demonstrating it on Raiden's trials or something lol
It sold out
This video seems confusing/uninformed.
Aris was right.
Be careful with this company. Terrible customer service. Got an MPress and sent it back three times. It still randomly disconnects. They won’t do anything about it anymore because it’s out of warranty now D:
I was gunna unsub seeing you getting a cheatbox but realized I wasn't subbed in the first place so no harm no foul.
I can smoke you on stick too, it's not a big deal.
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI Don't care if you're better or not, cheating is cheating.
Razer is losing opportunities
The term "leverless" sounds dumb as hell to me. It's a button box. Say what it is, not what it isn't.

Not sure if serious.
@@ANIMEILLUMINATI I’m not, been in your comment sections for a minute now, dude can’t even recognize his viewers smh
