    When I saw the “powder cloud” during your second reapplication, I wanted to cough with you! I’m on the fence with this product. I thinks it’s because I’m concerned that an SPF of 30 isn’t enough. I also have mature skin that is more normal than dry during warmer months... I still worry about looking cakey and emphasizing texture which is more prominent as the years roll by

    That’s awesome. So sensitive to the liquid spf and I’m allergic to Physicians Fórmula so this is an option I would like to try. I don’t ever wear makeup, so this will be interesting to try

    I’ve been considering trying this one but was hesitant because many of the reviews complained about the brush. I may try it and just use a different brush and a powder sifter like you did...kind of a pain but oh well. Id be curious to know how long this powder lasts you (especially since you’re reapplying a few times throughout the day) until it’s empty...could you update us on that? I suppose it would be difficult to know for sure if you’re in the process of trying new powder SPFS to review. 🤷🏼‍♀️ also...did you notice any breakouts forming from using this consistently? Thank you Abbey! I’m very grateful you’ve opened the discussion to skin protection and SPF and are on a mission to help us find the best products! I have never seen anyone do as good a job as you and I continue to learn so much!

    Hi Abbey! Thanks for the review! Hmmm so I'm kind of on the fence with this. I know you can "repackage", but that kind of takes away the easy "throw in your purse" type of packaging. It's 100% better than the PF spf powder lol, but idk. I feel like replying it a bunch throughout the day would maybe make me have an orange tint to my face?! I'm just thinking outloud lol. It's definitely a contender and good consideration though and has good ingredients! Thanks again Abbey 🤗💕🌞👍

    I wasn’t a fan of the packaging with this product. The plastic slide up part doesn’t have a locking mechanism so it just goes up and down as it pleases. Also the shade is a little dark for me

    I just found your channel and appreciate the info. I have been using Jane Iredale clear mineral sunscreen that comes in a tube (also comes in shoes) and like how it looks on my face, but the brush tip is very prickly and is aggravating my skin and causing me to peel. I'm going to get the little sifter jars that you recommend. Please tell me, what is the color of the DRMTLGY universal tinted spf that you use? I am very very fair with pink undertones and having trouble finding shades that work for me. I subscribed to your channel. Thanks much

    LOVEEE!! your videos!! I have been learning more about skincare ingredients and your videos have got me learning even more! Very clear and educational!! I am particularly looking for a mineral SPF powder to top up above makeup. I have recently brought the colourscience spf lotion. I was tempted to try their brush on powder spf but I don't know if can justify the price point and was seeking cheaper alternatives. I live in the UK so my options are very limited however I have seen on amazon the Derma E is available. Out of curiosity, I have seen you have tried a few brush-on powders, which is your fav? xx

    Would this be too heavy if applied with a sponge like the Juno sponge? I feel like that's one way to pack it and make sure you get SPF. For now I'm spraying my face 🤣 and patting it with the Juno sponge and doesn't mess the make-up. Just don't inhale it lol

    Thank you so much Abbey for your videos! You're a lifesaver🙏🏼 I don't know if QV is avaliable in the US as it is an Australian brand, but it would be amazing if you wanted to review some of their products! It's similar to cerave, and has got ceramides and niacinamide in a lot of their products. I'm struggling to choose between the brands as it's more accessible for me to get QV, but I'm constantly hearing people loving cerave. Anyways, thanks again for your videos! 💞

    I have that and it goes on much better and much more evenly when you apply it in a circular motion instead of patting or blotting it. You also have waaaaaaay too much on the brush (creating a sunscreen cloud 😜). I know you kept getting more because you weren’t seeing any coming off but you would have if you applied it in a circular motion, spreading the bristles out more to get to the product then “shaking” more onto the brush as needed. I like it a lot and wear it over a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer. Try circles and see if that helps.

    • @AbbeyYung
      @AbbeyYung  4 года назад

      The patting motion is best for me ensure even coverage all over the face!

    This one sounds pretty interesting. I have tried the Brush on Block spf 30 and the Colorscience spf 50, and I strongly preferred the Brush on Block because the brush is much softer/nicer and also removable for washing, which is really important to me. The Colorscience looks nice with its overall high-end looking packaging, but the brush is really cheap and scratchy, and its formulation contains carrageenen, a form of algae extract that broke me out. They are equivalent in pricing value. My friend Genevieve Fields, who reviews hundreds of sunscreens on her channel, recommends the Supergoop Invincible Setting Powder spf 45, and I'm going to try that one next. Her recommendations are always spot on.
    Btw, I appreciate your filming the entire day of trying out a new product and your writing such a thorough description in the description box; if you could add any follow-up info, I would appreciate it, because I find first impressions videos to be limited in terms of helpfulness. I don't know how many times I have loved or hated something the first day and then changed my mind the next day or the following week. Thank you very much!

    Excellent idea to repackage the powder into an empty sifter! I just did that with my Colorscience Sunforgettable Brush-On SPF 50 which is in the same type of packaging. I was always worried I wasn't getting even application in that packaging. I love the Colorscience version. It is very finely milled and looks flawless on the skin. Your channel has changed my skincare routine completely! I started using tretinoin (through Curology), all of the DRMTLGY products you talked about and many of the Cerave products! @jcjccmz 4 года назад +2

      Hi Jeannine, I have tried it and I thought it was overpriced, especially because the brush is so cheap and scratchy. It sheds too. The formula also contains a form of algae extract (carrageenan) that broke me out. It was so crazy because I almost never break out now, especially never from powder products but I was breaking out on my cheeks and forehead and nose (instead of on my chin, which is where I might have an occasional hormonal breakout), and I finally figured out it was the Colorscience powder. Once I stopped using it, I completely cleared up and my skin went back to normal. I think Colorscience charges so much because it spends so much money marketing their products in dermatologists' offices and paying for sponsored videos on youtube, lol. No, thank you!
