What would be the best apple watch to get if you are getting your very first one? Also what would be the best material to get if you don't want to be spend tons of money on a apple watch?
the charging puck can scratch the back too. also the battery will swell in a couple years. I had the aluminum watch in gold and it held up real well as far as the screen and case but had swelling battery.
I had really nasty “scratches” on the sapphire display of my space black steel series 5. I would swim with it and go on hikes with it. I rubbed the screen with a steel wool pad and the “deep” scratches are all gone along with the micro scratches. I think the “scratches” are just mineral deposits and metal that streaked onto the sapphire instead of actually scratching it. I just rubbed the “scratches” really hard with the 0000 grade steel wool and the display looks brand new.
I can't find if Apple uses an AR coating on the outside of the crystal but if they do: that's what is scratching. When you buffed it with steel wool you probably just removed the AR coating completely and took the scratches with it.
It is most likely that the bracelet is DLC coated. DLC is an extremely hard coating that has a hardness close to diamond, so it can indeed scratch a ceramic. Standard uncoated steel should never be able to scratch ceramic.
Thank you for the update because your last video of the cerámic watch in compares to titanium i bought the ceramic watch and im so happy whit the look of This watch. Im agree whit you the black milanese loop its so Hard material if you compares whit the regular milanese natural stainless steel model. Great video!!
Great video. I am very disappointed with my ceramic series 5. I have upgraded it from my old ceramic series 2 . Only after 5 month of wear mysteries 5 has enormous amount of scratches when my series 2 almost after 4 y is immaculate. Apple said it is “ hard wear and tear and they do not think it is their fault when putting 2 watches side to side is obvious you have been robbed as quality is very poor!.
Mine is still holding up great. Battery is 95 percent. My husband purchased the new 7 for the oxygen sensor… maybe they will have ceramic for the 8. I plan to keep using mine and it’s not been babied.
I hope the series 6 comes in ceramic or another different material I'll like under the edition. Definitely will not get the milanese loop band if it scratches the case.
I managed to ruin my Ceramic case, I was actually searching to find out how to polish the damage out when I came across this video :) Like a fool I wore my watch whilst welding, some molten spatter burned into the case. I suspect I would have been ok with any other (Much Cheaper) case material.
I have an aluminum that ive worn for 2 years that doesnt have as many scratches as that thing does. The back of my watch is flawless. So that band causing all those scratches to your $1500 watch seems not worth it as its suppose to be a lot more scratch resistant. Apple could have done so much better with the materials.

Conclusion: don’t use the milanese loop.

That’s a solid tip. Just makes me anxious thinking about running metal on a screen

Ceramic looks so good with white band just got series 6 wish they had but maybe next year

Hi is the watch worth it cause I’m thinking of getting one
Even the black stainless apple watch is the best scratch resistant of all.
Which is better? I think titanium is more scratch resistant since it doesn’t have a glossy texture....ceramic is used in toilets and basins right?
The Milanese Loop is also known for scratching the crystal on the watch as well.

The milanese loop causes scratches the most
Thanks for the video. You information is helpful for sure. There is not much information out there about durability of it.

Cheers for the video mate, very helpful!
Great vid I always keep a case on my stuff

So if I get the ceramic, I won’t pair it with the Milanese loop. I’ll put it with the leather loops instead.
And sport loop..which is the lightest. Not sport band.
Impressively comprehensive review, I wish this guy also had the Black/Graphite Stainless Steel versions to tell about the durability on those.
DLC coating might be the cause
Most likely
No way is that genuine sapphire crystal! Sapphire crystal does not scratch like that
Why didn’t u put screen cover ? Do u have Apple care ? Damn ... so sad 😭 love the white dude
I’d rather have scratches on the body than screen lol
Silly apple…

i just where the milanese loop when I go out or on special occasions. But in general, its kind of uncomfortable to wear, it just looks nice
I’ve had the ceramic watch 3 years now with zero scratches. So yes, ceramic is worth it
