Absolutely genius move. An official replica watch. Affordable. Looks good- quartz, chronograph. Doesn’t chip away from the real speedmaster (probably boosts sales from awareness to a new generation). Desirable for swatch fans. Desirable for omega fans. Desirable for NASA fans.
No shortage of reviews on this watch. I find yours the most informative and interesting Zach. Cool watch, but I'm not paying over retail. If I can get, great. If I can t, the watch world will distract me with something else.
Great, comprehensive review. I’m glad I’m not the only person annoyed by the chronograph minute subdial not being fully marked. I understand why they did that, but yea it annoys me.
Thank you for just reviewing it as a regular watch. Sick of all the desperate hot takes on these things. They’re fun watches made to look cool and I think they do their job well. Expecting any more out of a colorful space themed swatch is ridiculous lol
Just a fun watch. All these people losing there minds out there about the MoonSwatch; quite simple. Don't buy one. Great for beach and sketchy areas. A fun inexpensive watch.
These watches with their easy to scratch glass are NOT changeable. They are laser fused into the casing. If you scratch them to the point of not able to buff out, throw away the watch and get a new one! They should bring out new variants of this series; mission to a black hole and mission to Hell.
It's a happy meal watch (I own the Mars one). Too flimsy, full plastic (ceramic composite is basically plastic. It breaks very easy). It's a nice fun watch to wear, but it looks and feels cheap. I would not recommend one.
Personally I will buy one when they become available at a decent price. I think the Moon or Mercury ones look the best. I’ll likely change it to a NATO Strap
I hope they don’t just limit this collaboration to the Moonwatch, this could be just the start of something of bigger cute collabs. They could venture to expanding the concept to the Seamaster Omega x Swatch collab too: there are 31 varieties of the Sea theme for them to think about (e.g., Atlantic, Mediterranean, Red, Baltic, Arabian, South China, Celebes, etc). Another one is Railmaster collab series: the likes of Amtrak, British, Eurostar, Trenitalia, Oriental Express, SBB, etc). Better yet, the Constellation collab series would do great with so many possible variants.
I just found out about this Swatch and Omega collab by passing the San Francisco stores yesterday. They weren’t busy and I thought this was a brand new launch . So I didn’t go into the store and just assumed they had all models. So after learning more about this collab, I went back today and they had 3 models and would let you touch them or tell you how many of each they had left. Anyway, they no longer have lines, but still only selling one per person a day. I could’ve just gone with a friend to get around the rule but wasn’t even aware of that rule until I was there. I might go back tomorrow and pick up the Venus and why I’m looking at this great review.
@@jacknjill3000 That’s great to hear, it’s becoming manageable now for Swatch in SF. This is the ideal scenario for buying watch! Unfortunately, this is not the case in LDN.
The more I get acquainted with it, the more I want one. My only concern is the crystal supposedly not holding up like the speedy pro hesalite. I’ve heard the moonswatch crystal doesn’t take well to polywatch. Hope that’s just an anomaly.
the more time that has gone by since it's release the less interested i am in getting one. I do not want to give scalpers what they want first of all, but also i really think it should have had at least a mineral crystal and not a plastic one for retail price.
£260 for a swatch is too much, this is on you. But then again £260 is not a lot of money really! Either way if you are unhappy, next time don’t jump on the bandwagon so quickly, early adopters always get burnt.
Mission to Jupiter and the Mission to Mars are indeed the best looking and lots of fun to won for 260 euro. Black strap on the Mission to Jupiter and a red strap on the Mars will do for me.
Great review Zach. One difference I notice between the Moonswatch and the steel Speedy is the sub-dials are spaced further apart on the Monswatch. I'm not sure if you mentioned that. Btw, I liked your interview with the WatchCringe boys. LOL
Nice video, I’ll get one when it’s available for the base price online. I can’t see myself dropping 2 to 3 times the price for a swatch. I’ll wear my 120m Seamaster until then. Great video by the way Just read online that the plastic crystal is fused to the case, so if it’s damaged and needs replaced it’s toast. Thoughts?
Read the same thing but that is just speculation, until someone actually tries it we won’t know. Unless Swatch confirms. Can’t trust anyone just assuming, even Swatch employees I’ve spoken to don’t know.
Man, what makes me go crazy is Breitling selling the Endurance Pro for 3000, it's a plastic, quartz watch just like this one!!!!!! it doesn't make sense to me!!!! I will have one of this, but 3000 for plastic watch is out of sense. my opinion tho
Fantastic review and a great watch (pun). Think I still want one of these, but I live nowhere near a Swatch store. Bummed that they’re not going to be available from Swatch online at MSRP.
I think this was all planned INCLUDING saying “it will be available online” and “this is not a limited release” to what it is now which is short of supply and will always be. The “Rolex” style of planned unavailability is all it is.
Bought my first moonswatch last week from one of the ad in HK, today want to buy one more as a gift to my sister. They give me a voucher and ask me to come back in three hours time to purchase. What am i doing in these three hrs time? Stupid.... I give up.....
I think using the Omega branding first is wrong, this is not even as close as a super rep is to the Omega. Great review but I don’t think this is enough Omega to have the branding as loud as it is.
It really looks like Swatch strong armed Omega to cough up their IP and let Swatch have its way with it.😂😂😂 "It's either a plastic Speedmaster or offshoring to China! Your move Omega."
I disagree. I'm a collector, I have a blue moon and the 2 snoopies. They're going in the safe, new.. Granted, it may take ten to twenty years, but that's okay, 😆 I bought my wife venus, so she can wear and play with it. The way she takes care of her things, I expect it to be worth more as well.. These are not beaters, 😊
It's a joke you still can't buy one easily from a store...C'mon it's the great watch swindle....scalpers love it...and now replicas flood the market....it's a joke! Swatch can ggf
Cheapest omega watch you can get on your wrist is like 4k and that’s a rubbish looking one… these have the omega face and branding and cost £240 and looks more young fun and cool win win if it don’t break!!!
This is a no go for me for 3 reasons. 1. Color transfer to skin wen worn. 2. Plastic lens or crystal scratches easily. 3. The crystal is fused to case and can not be replaced. You can get a steel knock off with a real crystal lens for $200.
@@TheFailedWatchmaker yes, and it’s because they suck. They’re just swatch group fodder. Omega in McDonald’s. I’m sad to be associated with their brand, but I love the moonwatch.
All the little comments add up to one thing....it is not an OMEGA nor a speedmaster. If you did not strap it to your wrist it would float away. Who are you trying to kid...the materials used are not durable like the Crystal for example. Try getting it repaired or serviced...lol. It's a throwaway marketing watch. It gets the Omega name on more wrists full stop. China will soon have it available to for sub 30dollars . It is not a Speedmaster....Omega can put the name on anything.....they chose a cheap plastic quartz almost functional throwaway watch. No more no less.
Oh but it does my friend. I know because you own an omega you’d rather not believe it but it’s an omega speedmaster made by swatch. This is something that has been discussed to death though and there will be no convincing anyone so each to their own.
I don’t understand this point of view. Who gives a lick about being an omega watch owner? Many of us buy a particular watch for far more reasons than to be able to say we’ve done so. I have a speedy pro and I can’t wait to be able to get the mars and the Jupiter. And by the way, it is an Omega. It’s right there on the dial.
The thing is, it's not a Speedmaster. It's a Swatch with Omega branding. I respect your enthusiasm but now that the hype has settled folks are thinking a bit more clearly. The movement is non repairable although the case cant be opened anyway so if the watch fails at some point, it's a brick. To compare it with a Speedmaster is silly. It's great that you're enjoying it but I think you're opinion is clouded by the hype.
I think your opinion is clouded by the fact you can get a €7000 speedmaster for €260 🤣 is it as well made? clearly not BUT it says Omega, it says speedmaster, as the saying goes if it looks like a horse, sounds like a horse then it's a horse. it brings Omega to the masses, clever move in my book!
You keep calling this toy plastic watch a Speedmaster. It’s not. I don’t care what Swatch calls it. I bet the people at Omega had to bite their tongues when their overlords at Swatch forced them to put their legendary name on it.

This is 'no doubtly' the best review of Moon Swatch 'Mission to Jupiter'. Thank you for your helpful contents.^^

As always, a great review from W&W. Thank you Zack.

Do you have link's to those watch bands? Specifically the rust coloured one?
Jupiter is that poor mans Mojave I need to have! Great review and insights as always Zach!
Zach, what watch band is that orange/rust colored one? Looking for it online and can’t seem to find it.
Where did you find the nylon burnt orange strap from?
Will buy one for myself. it looks cool and light. People that have the real and expensive one, are screaming cursing Omega everyday
Do you have any links to the bands your purchased for this watch? I liked the nylon watch band and think it’ll be a great fit.
Just ordered mine from Ebay, really excited to get it despite the flaws. It's just a fun looking watch!
Where do you get your straps from? That one looks sweet.
So cool! Just got my Earth Moonster. The Rollies and the Omega are on my dresser and Planet Earth is on wrist! Enjoy it for what it is and 😃
Thanks, I really enjoy W&W reviews.
Where is that grey nato from on the Swatch? Link?
