realistically MetPrime4 as a crossover like Breath of the Wild was. New 3D Mario. Mario Kart 9. Animal Crossing whatever.
Every once in a while they keep showing pictures of the new Switch 2 on RUclips ..
It's just a second Generation of an Oled .. maybe the same built as the Oled ..but a different color .. 😭💦
I just hope that the new console is backwards compatible with Switch games.

I wouldn't say this is bad news or even good news: it's simply Nintendo stating the raw facts. And THAT is good news. If they pretend that newer hardware will not increase production times, then they're going down the toilet, but this way they're actually acknowledging the immovable difficulties and acting around them, potentially maximizing effectiveness.
Even gamefreak seems to understand this
I don't think I will ever understand the argument that having a stronger console means they need to sacrifice gameplay. What is it about having a very powerful console that would stop Nintendo from making the same fun and entertaining games. Even if the switch 2 is a powerful as a Series X, Nintendo doesn't have to utilize all that power in their development of games. Mario, Zelda, Smash, Mario Kart etc. can all still run and look exactly the way they do now. A PS5 can run Mario Kart just as it is. There is no need to change your philosophy of game development simply because you have a powerful console. However, having a powerful console would allow third party companies the extra power to port over games that Nintendo is missing. I don't see why it has to be one or the other. How does a powerful console stops you from imagining fun creative games?

Yeah people just hate joining the dark side 😂. A lot of pc games I have are quite retro in style. I just hope they don't port ps5 games and half-ass it with weaker power for $50+ as doing that with ps4 is lame.
Then of course the game development bs when stuff gets stealth released all the time and nintendo is outsourcing, with everyone buying properties like monopoly.
Let alone no excuse for nintendo to take forever in informing fans about metroid prime 4 beyond. I got better things to do than wait damn near a decade for news on a game (and I'm burnt out from post review tekken/gran turismo style microtransactions). Let alone many make fun clones like rebel transmute or ghost song.

True because different people who make the games aren't necessarily the same people making the consoles. Bill gates is making it hard for switch to get good graphics and stronger console. Company is not going to sell you a dream console...you'll never buy another one.

Honestly if it ain’t broke don’t fix it’ I see nothing wrong with the Nintendo Switch. Graphics look phenomenal’ on all the games they make exclusively for it. Leave the realistic graphics for ps5 and xbox.

or just cap graphical capability/texture size and let the game run better. I already think TotK and Xenoblade 3 are plenty pretty, just a resolution bump and framerate bump are enough for me.

I'm just hoping to play Zedla TOTK at a higher fps and resolution and also hoping for Elden Ring and BG3 to be ported over. Also i wouldn't mind a new 3D mario.

Here but i wish the levels were longer. They felt like a demo. The 1st one is a blue print for the 3D Kirby going forward so i hope they can only improve it..

I don’t mind waiting a little longer for first party titles if it means the quality of games are exceptional. Nintendo is in safe hands I’m sure they are going to blow our minds with the switch 2 lineup and there games for the next generation. Nintendo always surprise me how often they release there games during the year that’s why they are the best😊😊

After the Wii U situation. I believe they understand what they need to be doing. Reason the Wii U had such a drought was because Nintendo dev were still new getting into the HD scene still being stuck behind 480p system for so long. And with the combination of the their handheld team now merge with the console team. It pretty easy for Nintendo to keep the flow of games coming. I literally pulled it off with the Switch. And just because the system going to be more powerful doesn't mean Nintendo going to go the full Sony and Xbox and have to have game looking like The Last of Us.
As long as Nintendo make their games cartoony look instead of realistic they'll be able to make more games, Sony games takes a long time because they keep adding so many details on faces and it takes a long time to make it
The Switch 2 has me excited for what what’s next for Mario, Zelda and Metroid.
Obviously, games are the most important. Next to the big 3 of Nintendo i can't wait for the next Monolitsoft games: Xenoblade 4 etc. They will look fantastic.

A lot of people claim that games like Scarlet/Violet and Splatoon 3 are "rushed" and needed more time (mostly cuz they set their expectations too high and God forbid there are BUGS in a game my goodness). So longer dev time means they can hopefully fix that

as long as the next Switch is able to run every single game at native 1080/60fps, upscaled to 4k it would be acceptable.
I’m going to be real upset if it’s not compatible with switch games. Switch game cartridges can hold up to 2TB so there’s no reason to change the shape of the cartridges.

Just because your console supports a certain level of graphics doesn't mean devs need to use it. For Xbox and PlayStation, they compete on graphics, so they need to use it. But that's not Nintendo's market. Is be happy if Splatoon 4 looked like 3. Cartoony is a plus. My wish list is fewer dropped matches, stages with more flank routes, more flexible matchmaking, and an optional visible power level (I'd be happy to grind to get it.)
If the switch 2 is backwards compatible and all my current games are digital, do you think we can still play them on the new system or have to buy them all over again ?

Backwards Compatibilty is the only feature I am interested in! Take as long as you need to make quality games. On a side note, how about the abilty to have the next switch be similar to the current gen with a clamshell screen in the center that opens up for backwards 3ds/ds compatiblity....???? Genius, right?
I just got my first switch last July so I don't care about new hardware, I just want to play catch up with switch games, interested though in seeing if it's backwards compatible. They should make a console that is switch 1 and 3ds backwards compatible, I believe that's possible

I just got into Switch, and now there is gonna be a new one! Lol im working on my Switch collection
I like how they are saying game development is taking so much longer even with the games being a full generation behind for current consoles graphically, it feels like Nintendo is running out of their garage to do all this stuff. Same with the Pokemon studio, it feels like it's a room of a dozen people working on things instead of being literally Nintendo and having probably endless resources around them. On top of all of that, most of the games they are putting out are remasters of old games and rehashing the same thing so i don't get why it would take them so long to put things out. I think honestly they need to become a bit more consumer friendly in this next gen as well like having some kind of refund policy. So tired of having to watch tons of review and gameplay videos for every game i am interested in trying out before doing anything, or buying games off misleading or vague pictures and descriptions that i end up never playing and wasting money. i don't think adopting the 2 hour game play time limit for a refund is too much to ask from a company like Nintendo after almost everyone else does it already.
I'm actually pretty excited for Switch 2 man.

They should take their time with making the first-party titles until they release the Switch 2 OLED. I will be playing all third-party titles on my Steam Deck OLED and first-party Nintendo titles on my Switch OLED until they release the Switch 2 OLED.

The raw power of the current switch doesn't fall in line with ps3 and 360😂😂😂😂😂 who told you that? Not because devs part 360 games on it didn't mean that is the Pierre of the switch. The tegra x1 is a 4k chip, which is more powerful than what the 360 and ps3 isn't capable of. Not to mention the switch has more ram. 360 and ps3 can't run fortnite, Witcher 3,doom and many if those so called impossible ps4 and xbox one ports that had blessed the switch. You should do more research sunblock before you make false claims.
The switch is very more capable to run any game in ps4 but Nintendo has locked down the chip, choosing efficiency and battery life over raw power. I've seen nodded switches running a steady 60 fps in most games, I've seen 120 fps 900p switch games, and I've even seen the switch hitting 4k @30.
Why doesn't Nintendo overclock the chip when the Switch is docked then? To ensure a longer life-span?

I don't mind a longer wait. I skipped out on the Switch because of how poor the mainline Pokemon games where, if they spend more time on it and make a great game, with better performance then I'm excited.
Shame that game development does take longer these days but thats what happens when you makre more advanced and sophistcated games. Though knowing nintendo we will least see games with less advanced tecnology that doesnt take as long to create games. Either way i look forward to seeing what nintedo creates in the future with its next console and onwards. They always done good job creating consoles usually underpowered, affordable, and yet still impressive compared to their competitors.

The switch gotten decent games on the console sure it’s not that powerful,but I guarantee the next console will have some better games on it that we didn’t have on the regular switch console.

I hope that there's no bright with the game cartridges like the DS and 3ds has.
For example you can play ds game on 3ds but you can't play 3ds game on DS. I would hate that cuz what if Mario and Luigi brother ship is only for switch 2 and you can't play it on switch oled or light
I don't care about the power of consoles, i don't care about good looking games, i care about good games. Those games are very rare nowadays, the graphics are better than ever but the creativity is at an all time low. For the Switch the only really good game is MK8DX if you ask me.
The dock could feature nVidia’s DLSS.
Switch 2 will be competing against the PS6 for most of its life. So it needs to be a huge leap ahead of the Switch, not just a slight upgrade.
They really need to put a parallel GPU in the dock. That will solve the problem of limited tablet power pushing 4K to a TV, and it will also allow mid-gen upgrades to the dock without replacing your entire console.
And what will be the new gimmick to make it unique? Maybe it will be AR glasses. Nintendo can use their experience with the Wii U to stream a second screen, but instead of a second screen on the controller it could be on the glasses. That's really the only solution for having 3D and VR without sacrificing local multiplayer where people can still see each other in the room.
Anyway 8 years is the longest gap between consoles, and 8 years is a long time in hardware. So they can release something amazing, sell 200 million consoles, and put Xbox out of business forever, or they can stay 2 generations behind and have another Wii U.
The next generation may get tough for Nintendo with no WiiU games to recycle and the first mover advantage in mobile dockable home consoles lost.

If you buy the physical cartridge there is zero download it just loads right up as soon as you put the cartridge into the switch as switch cartridges the full game is all on the cartridge.

most likely nintendo switch successor is PS4-Xbox one power level
Raw power in handheld mode, but its more modern and has DLSS and better CPU and probably more ram. Even some Raytracing should be possible in some games. Docked its probably more like a Series S. Worse CPU, but better upscaling through DLSS. For a hybrid it will be a really nice next gen upgrade. That said, Nintendo games on a PS4+ like hardware with better image quality through DLSS would be or is a great thing. For 3rds most of the PS5 games until now can probably be ported without too much sacrifice.

They actually said "greater alignment with 8th gen console" and they said that as an assumption not because they knew everything about it. I hate seeing that "Switch 2 = PS4 so much". Series S is 4 Teraflops. Switch 2 may be around 3 TF. If you take DLSS into account, it could come very close to Series S image quality

There is no screen! But each controller it has its own 8gb of ram and 1.4 tflop gpu.
It wirelessly streams the game being processed inside the controller to smart T.Vs. and iPad app. It streams 1080p, not 4K.
It’s only ~325 grams, half the size of a Docked Switch, yet “2x” as powerful.
No more Joy-Cons or Dock support. Only backwards compatible with Switch games that support “handheld mode”. ‘1-2 Switch’ for example is NOT backwards compatible. (somehow able to run Switch games in handheld mode at 1080p 60fps)

this dont give us much news other than saying that software development take much time. it dont take 10 minutes to say this. the bad news to me is that it took them 10 years to complete mario wonder which is not such an impressive game. its a good game but it dont justify so much time making it. i guess they botched the new zelda echoes of wisdom coming soon which looks more like a dlc to link awakening.
Hope its not digital only. If so I will stay with the old Switch. You are only renting console digital games and at some point they will not run on new hardware.

I'd rather have 1 or 2 games for a series then a bunch of mediocre ones. All of the Zelda and Mario mainline games are bangers. Look at Pokemon... we were getting a new mainline game every 2 years or so and they have been mediocre since the 3DS era. Legend of Arceus was at least interesting, but still lacking. Mario Wonder was such a great title, because it took many years from when the last 2D game was released. Can't stand people that want a new mainline entry every 2 - 3 years. Sonic is another series that has suffered from non stop releases too as an example.
we don't have 40 years to get 4 "fun" games, release that thin already, looks like the switch 2 was going to be a mess and Nintendo is trying to fix it
So whats the bad news?
We might be at a point now where things getting stronger and stronger are starting to be a reason not to buy a system. Like, fancy your PS5 is really nice and all but I don't want to wait 8 years for 1 game that will feel like the only genre Sony ever seems to put out.
Nintendo is quick and has a lot more to offer. Sure it's not as fancy but McDonalds isn't either. Still I think I'll take McDonalds and get a meal for 20 bucks instead of the 5 star place and give 20 for a single bite of stake just because it was made by a pro chief

Framerate is a very important aspect of gameplay.
I love 144hz Overwatch on PC, but a rock-solid 30fps was a good experience for Last of Us on PS3 when it came out.
That being said, it is sooooo hard to play Zelda or Pokemon on Switch. Crusty, inconsistent framerate with PS1 textures just ain't it. Pokemon Unite and SW Hunters looks better on Android. Switch 2 is gonna be crusty too, dudes. Pokemon Sun and Moon lagged on the 3ds in double battles.. Nintendo is losing touch.

Looking forward to the next Swtich. There are games i hope to get a re-release on Switch 2 with improved graphics or get patched up. No Man Sky And Hogwarts Legacy. We also need the rest of the Dark Souls games on the Switch 2 and so many others that looked ok Switch but so many others can use some improvements on Switch 2
The graphics for Switch 2 will be practically identical to the current Switch, so I wouldn't get my hopes up.

This person seems like a good person as a RUclipsr he does seem genuine but I was struggling with the same question. I think personally he just didn't get to the point right away if not at all. Nintendo could have steped it up technologicly this whole time...but held back when it came to their online....I mean, back when I had a PS2...when I wanted to talk to the other players online....ALL I needed besides a means to play the game online was a USB headset....thats it...NINTENDO 2017, OH you can use this App on your phone to chat with people....bro, seriously? Your already having to use a phone... I mean, Nintendo isent stupid...they know players curse like sailors...but you can't prevent people from being people...I get they want to avoid any problems....but that's what lawyers are for...lean in on the ESRB alittle and let parents be parents. Nah nintendo switch oled can't stop selling games that's against law nintendo sell it to us by 2021 October that's completely impossible for Nintendo switch oled has a lot of games that are still pretty god plus nintendo switch oled can move heavier games only that nintendo wants to get more money with next switch I will buy another nintendo switch if nintendo let's us download first nintendo switch games there to if not me as myself feel Nintendo switch more than enough
the best thing about nintendo switch is that u can emulate the switch games on PC and play them on superior hardware for better experience
