"...Nintendo never done this before." Yes, they have...for the Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary, they released a special edition of Four Swords on DSi from September 28, 2011 to February 20, 2012. They did it again to celebrate the release on A Link Between Worlds by re-releasing Four Sword Anniversary only for a few days in 2014.
My friend was living w me for a couple of days and we played Jump force physical and it looked and played horrible on switch and I was bad. Glad I got to played when i found out it was delisted at least. I also bought Mario 3D Allstars, played each one 3 times at most and haven’t played it in about a year
Namco has been known to be lazy with Nintendo ports. Growtopia, however was most definitely removed because of the number of refunds given to players who said the tou user agreement said they were too young to legally play. Konami's Baseball game had a similar situation where the tou said you're not allowed to let anyone under 18 play, and you're not allowed to have multiple save files per console. Pacman 99 burns images of flashing blue ghosts and jammer ghosts into people's retinas, which is why people stopped playing. "Skylanders Imaginators" and the whole series will likely not be as popular as the hit Netflix animation *Spyro's Skylanders Academy* arguably the best incarnation of these characters. Although you'd expect Stealth Elf's enemies to make a "CANDICE!" sound whenever she surprises them with her shadow speed.
What? Dragonball Xenoverse 2 is still getting updates and support and to my knowlege HAS NOT been delisted. You can still buy the game and the DLC on the eShop and still find physical copies pretty easily. Super Mario Bros 35 and the other "anniversary titles" that year are the only games here Nintendo directly played a part in "taking down." Out of the ones on the thumbnail, I know Cooking Mama Cookstar was taken down because of licensing conflicts between the IP holder and developer where the IP holder wanted to cancel the game behind closed doors because it sucked but the developer ended up releasing it anyways and POTENTIALLY implanting a bitcoin miner and/or data logger into the game to spite the IP holder. Skylanders Imaginators was never sold digitally, only physically as it was a toys to life game. However it was released in the tail end of that craze (2016) so it bombed. It was the last chance to reinvigorate the Skylanders IP after every game after Giants kept performing worse and worse, but it underperformed so the series was cancelled for good. No new copies are sold today due to it being a Wii U game from 2016, but you can still buy it second hand for super cheap. Skylanders Imaginators was never delisted as it was never sold digitally, it just ran its course of physical copies produced and ended production. Minecraft Story Mode was delisted because Microsoft ended their contract with Telltale Games in 2019 shortly before TTG went backrupt. Then Netflix bought exclusive rights to Minecraft Story Mode in collaboration with Microsoft so all the actual game versions had to be delisted. You can currently watch all the cutscenes (which is pretty much the entire game) on Netflix right now. It had nothing to do with Nintendo. SMT5 was delisted by SEGA because a greatly improved new version (SMT5 Vengence) released with all content from the original release included largely unchanged. They still should have offered refunds or discounts for people who bought the original game though, especially since the OG version was like an early access build of Vengence that people had to pay full price for. Most of the other games you listed were failed live service games like Jump Force, Babelon's Fall, Knockout City,
I can completely understand the online games getting shut down, but why doesn’t Nintendo want us to play any of the physical banned cartridges? What’s going on?
I know the Reason for Taiko no Tatsujin Drum'n Fun. The Thing is that Bandai Namco want that all Taiko no Tatsujin Players using the Subscribtion Musicpass from Rhythm Festival to make more Money, that's why Drum'n Fun is gone.
There is one major flaw in making Super Mario 3D All Stars a limited time release and that is how people selling it secondhand online are overpricing a used copy of the game. I've seen listings for just the box and now game for $80 and over $100 just for the game but no box. Why? The box is just plastic with a piece of paper inserted into a thin plastic sleeve and definitely not worth $80.
I loved Knockout City so much. Must've put like 70+ hours into it on PS4. So much so that I was able to platinum it like a week or two before it shut down. (Just needed the assists trophy as I already was playing since launch.) My favorite ftp game.
