Leatherman shooting itself in the foot as usual.

Take my zloty!

Adolf too.
Sorry.

Leatherman changed the design on the new wave+ style plierhead
I don't know if this is a manugacturing defect on mine, but Leatherman also changed the geometry of the wave+/charge style plierhead, the old multitools have a cutout at the bottem of each jaw to acompany the old style cutters. The new tools lack that cutout and don't fit the old cuttes with a 90° corner. However, the new plierhead also isn't working with new cutters propperly and presents the same problem of not cutting all the way. Both the Rebar/Surge style plierhead have not been changed, I don't know about the free/arc style plierhead.
Holy crap! Didn't notice this
Neat. This is pretty cool! Thanks for sharing
Brother, try cutting the nail with an MP600 instead of the Centerdrive, I've always found the MP600 to have better leverage.
I googled this and you were the first vid and it said no views and 50 seconds ago
Wow
Very interesting. Fantastic test
I just ordered mine for my Gerber, thanks for the tip 🎉
Which. The USA ones?
Great test 👌
I use my arc daily and my cutters have never had an issue. I love them aside from the micro bit driver is nearly useless for me.
Awesome
I have no experience with Surge or Arc but it looks like the handles on Arc come closer together so it making cutting wire easier might be a function of your ability to grip the tool
I believe that if there is any play on the surges plier head then it’s possible they are slightly shifting and creating a larger gap between the cutters that could be making it harder to cut with. If this is not the case I can’t understand why they would be so much harder than the rebar.
The nail yeeter
I have the chinese damacus cutters, they perform very good
Very Kool
I tried to order the polish cutters but it says they don’t ship to where I live Georgia, US. Is there any way to contact the maker and get him to start shipping to the US? I bet he would make a lot of money off these.
I already fixed it.
@@franio1991 Thanks! I’ll check it out again
@@franio1991 I ordered a set!
Sweet, thank you for taking the time to do this, good to know not all are created equal even though they look similar. Can you compare the different wire cutters on chain link and barbed wire?
I don't have any but yea those would be a good test..I'm doubtful of the chain link
@@maxlvledc I bought some so I’ll see how they cut with my surge when I get them, I’m interested in comparing them to the regular cutters with a different surge. Maybe yours was being weird haha
@@garrisonboyd1701 let me know
Soon we ll buy chinese multi tool and polish cutters wonderful 😂🙏🏼🤣
as soon as I buy a Chinese multitool 🤣
Nice testing Dominic!
Good to see the old standard cutters doing so well.
I have a feeling the distance from the pivot to the cutting point is smaller on the Arc making it easier than the Surge. Can you verify this?
I can try, but it wouldn't explain how the St300 is easier to than both with same plier head.
Good video, Dominic!😊 I had a look in ebay & it appears that a set of cutters are $21.05...is that correct? Are they delivered as you showed them? He also shows an assortment of cutters in a box divided into 10 sections...now, can you cut right at the base with these cutters? Do you know if LTG has resolved the cutter problem, or do we need to "eye-ball" where to place the item to be cut so that we do not shatter the cutters? I will have to see if you can detect the problem with the Surge before I would consider purchasing them...the translation does not appear to be very clear on ebay.... Thanks!
They didn't break, but they also didn't cut well. As long as they still use them, it's won't be fixed.
@@maxlvledc thanks...btw, L sells a set of cutters with 2 screws & a #8 torx for $10.00....
Poland & Ukraine has always picked up the slack.
Just checked and his cutters locally cost the same amount as the replacement cutters from Leatherman through local retailer's store chain
Unfortunately, eBay commission...
@@franio1991 yeah, locally I'm estimating between one and three bucks for fees and shipping. I think it's still a better deal
@@Tri_Nitro If you want to buy it a little cheaper, look for me in the video description ;)
Buen video, creo que no cortan, cuando tiene un poco de holgura en el eje,o elasticidad de las mordazas
I have been looking for true diagonal cutters on a multitool, for months now without any luck, the only way was to buy the blackfire and mod it as you did, but now, we have absolutely no option.
Yea, I've not seen it
Promising overall geometry and steel but cutting bevels need to get a little thinner to cut better
Id like to get a couple of sets. I can't navigate the pay pal site in Polish
Use Google translate on desktop etc.
I just press buttons until I see the apple Pay logo then I click it and pray 😂
I guess im just gonna get Chinese multitool and polish cutter 🤗
Re leatherman wave plus: Have you tried the Poland cutters on stranded wire? Or do we still have to go the EOD cutter route?
Hi, I also have cutters that fit the eod. Unfortunately, I didn't have a stranded wire to test.
I need to make a cutter gauntlet with a bunch go different wires to test.
I just tried to order them but he will not ship to the US.
I already fixed it.
@@franio1991 sweet!
Please make a video showing ways to upgrade the bibury tools! Do leatherman blades fit? Cutters?
The cutters on bibury are actually already good.
@@maxlvledc what about the main blades? I just got one in, and the serated blade is definitely not as good as my old rebar (which I tragically lost recently).
@christopherrobin8134 different size pivots, I'm not sure it will go well.
@@maxlvledc Gotcha. That’s a shame. Thanks for the info!
Let’s gooo
Great vid, man. Can you please explain the roll of that little, black rubbery part near pliers in P2, P4 and Arc models? What's that for and how durable it is. Thanks :)
It's an elastomer that allows some give for the plier head to "cam" into the locked open position, Leatherman engineer says they've tested them through millons of cycles. My experience is it's a strong/stiff material although on my Arc it had a tendency to slide in/out causing minor binding, dab of glue will solve that.
its a gasket that adds a small amount of give for the handles to lock into the plier.
@@FirePrank6 Thanks for answering. I hope it will not become brittle during time.

What is the blue coloured centre drive? Is it just a centredrive plus?
It's a fathers day special edition
@@maxlvledc cool!
Please do this test with de China clones, I'm curious about Bibury / Daicamping results
They didn't have any issue with hanger..havnt tried the nail yet.
Can it cut through a mini travel padlock?
I doubt it.
Leatherman have talked about how the arc has a better/stronger pliers so you might just be seeing the results of that.
How did you get yours??
Asked him directly through messagss
why don't make the different sides of the triangle cutter different angle/geometry
I'm going to try that
i have a Leatherman mut eod and I'm looking to replace the plastics on them..
I'd like to replace the plastic with copper if possible but even a different color plastic would be nice if anyone knows where you can buy parts for a Leatherman mut eod.
You would have to get someone to 3D design them and print them
Speed steel huh?
Where can i can the gerber cutters from?
From me ;)

Hey maxlvledc. I can't reply to your comment regarding the Rocktol 12-in-1 in the other video. All my replies are disappearing. :/
Wier
This is so pathetic now. Having shopping overseas from US for an American made tool. (Arc) just bc leatherman is still f@cking around with them damn cutters..
Yeeep
Agreed. Very disappointing
ARC stronger than Surge. You saw it yourself
The st300 worked better than both soooo...
@maxlvledc the new version with the replaceable cutters or the classic integrated cutters? I maintain that the classic cutters are still the best.
The gap at the bottom is for stripping wire.
Nope, simply wrong.

When the surge wouldn’t cut, I wish you would have swapped the ones on the arc for the surge just to see if that specific cutter was a defect.
It was already getting long, but you are right.
