We should make sure kids are educated on internet scammers right when we know they have started using the internet. I remember when I was a kid, kids were taught about cyberbullying, and about how to stay safe on the internet, but I don't remember ever being taught about internet scammers. If I had been taught about internet scammers, not only would I have known how to avoid them, but I would have wanted to educate others, so they would know about this stuff too.

No offense to the girl at the start, but who just gives your login information or password to a person who you don’t even have proof is actually working for Microsoft/Apple. My Lenvo laptop had the exact same message. I’m not gonna lie it caught me off guard, but I didn’t immediately call the number the pop up told me to call. I went to my files and looked for any malicious files and I deleted the sketchy ones. I reseted my laptop and the pop ups stopped. I even took a step further and used my northern security to check my laptop and clean out any viruses. It’s not that hard to tell a virus over a real message. But I do understand if they’re old and don’t really understand how viruses work. But other than that there shouldn’t be any other reason you can fall for this trick.
If you fall for this you deserve to be scammed. Basic internet knowledge. I think in schools kids should be taught about this stuff in depth. Its better to be paranoid about everything on the internet than be too lenient. People underestimate the power of having internet access. A few keystrokes and you can land yourself in the shitter. I learnt that a lot of stuff is barely legit. If any of this stuff pops up for you, a word of advice is to do some troubleshooting, try closing the page, then go on to ALT+F4, move on to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to access your task manager, crash your web browser through that, if none of this works which is very unlikely just turn off your computer.
I actually recently fell for this and I feel so dumb 🤦🏽♂️ even though I’ve done my own extensive research before.. got me good lol now trying to fix my computer properly
The thing that scares the shit out of me when this happens is when I'm wacthing my favorite horror movies at 2:00AM and then this is what I hear "THIS IS A WARNING YOUR MACKBOOK/WINDOWS/CROMEBOOK HAS A VIRUS PLEASE CALL THIS NUMBER OR TAP HERE NOW" over... and over..... and over... again
I got one of these and it wouldn't let me close out and I was like SHUT DOWN SHUT DOWN SHUT DOWN so I shut it down and watched this video asap. And I was like oh PHEW
Dude thank you so much I fell for one of these I clicked on a website I don’t know what it was and it made my heart beat at 300mph, it said 2 damaging viruses had been found in my phone and it looked really legit so I started panicking (I have an iPhone XS Max so the Bluetooth symbol doesn’t show up) so I was being really scared so I’m end into a voice message my dad sent me and it started lagging out and thought it wasn’t lying but then when I played it after 3 times the screen didn’t go black (because sometimes if I try playing a video on WhatsApp or a voice message it will lag out and turn my screen black for a second).

I came across this video because I was worried about having a virus cuz a "free download" website, and the a pop up that looked like it was from my phone popped up saying the name of my device! Had been infected by a virus. It said to download an app. I have a virus detector and it said nothing was wrong. I'm still worried. Plz, anyone tell me more information
where was this video when I needed. They tried to convinced me that my Mac had a virus. My dumb ass actually thought hackers were going to steel my info. I told my dad what was happening and he told me to hang up and not listen what they were saying, but I didn't listen and kept asking the guy to show me how hackers suppostly got my info. After being in the phone with the guy, I started to get suspicious and started asking him, how this was happening. My dad got pissed that I didn't end up the call and grabbed my phone started yelling at the guy and told him he supposedly called the police lol and that they were going to catch his ass for trying to scam our family. I am so happy my dad did that because my dumb ass actually thought I had a virus.
I was a victim of this scam. A popup came up on my computer saying that i had a "Pornographic Virus." I was just going to restart my computer but then my mom walked in. She called the number and they said it would cost $5000. My mom immediately looked at me and whispered "I don't have that money." Also, if you're going to ask, she did let them in. I restarted my computer and then it worked just fine after that. They didn't go on many websites or apps thankfully. Honestly I'm just glad nothing else happened after that.
I applaud her for being willing to inform us about what happened to her. I have fallen for a scam that cost me 1,200 dollars. That was years ago. The FCC sent me a check for 522.42 in March 2018 as a ripoff (scam) refund. I do not know if any of these clowns were ever prosecuted. So I got almost half of it back, but I was fortunate to get that.
This just happened to me today, I was so scared and almost fell for it, they were trying to get $7800 out of my bank account. Very sad and lesson learned, stay safe out there.
On my iPad mini five, I had one of these scam pop-ups and it said I had 39 viruses on it. But the weirdest thing is that it said that my Sim card would get corrupted, but the thing is that my iPad doesn’t even have a Sim card. It’s an iPad! iPads don’t have Sim cards unless you buy them with cell service. I bought my iPad with Wifi only.
This happened to me two days ago but I didn't fall for it. I just used my cellphone camera to take a picture of the fake warning with evil persons phone number on my iMac display. I will report the number to the Cyber crime authorities pronto...and share this on my face book. Thank you very much
I almost fell into something similar. I got a pop up on my phone screen saying that I have 39 viruses that need to be fixed in 2 mins or damage will be done, all that crap. It directed me to VPN on the App Store and I thought, wait a min, why would it direct me specifically to this app and no other? I just shut down my phone and turned it back on it was fine

I got one of these suddenly appear on my screen a year or so ago. It wouldn't go away, and an Indian female recorded message started to tell me that my computer was blocked, do not turn off the computer etc etc. Fortunately I follow Jim Browning's channel, so I knew it was fake, so I switched off the computer and switched it back on with no ill effects whatever.
I got something bloke that but it "claimed" they were Microsoft asking for my pc password and details Then I fought Why would Microsoft be asking for my pc password n stuff They should all ready have it
This once happened to me, exact same thing. Even on a Mac. Something appeared screaming "IMPORTANT SECURITY MESSAGE." I closed out fast enough for it not to freak out on me. One time it started to load something... It blocked my whole computer. I couldn't close out of it. Finally, after 10 minutes, I restarted my computer like 10 times and it went back to normal. I still use the same Mac today :)
Ryan Toomey Due to how Unix-likes and, more specifically, OS X works, Macs get barely any viruses... in the literal sense of the term (malicious code that attaches to executables and spreads, like good old CIH). However, they do get a lot of malware - just not as much as Windows does, only because they're far less popular. Trojans, worms, spyware/adware? All of that is there. And OS X is not low on the current big malware genre, ransomware. Even a well-known BitTorrent client for OS X, Transmission, got hijacked and combined with the KeRanger ransomware once!
+JustGlach Also, the main reason why Linux users tend to get less malware is because Linux users are tech-savvier on average and know better than to run random binaries or add random private repositories from the Internet. Also, they don't run around logged in as root, unlike what the average Windows setup looks like. One simple way to secure a Windows PC is to make a separate password-protected admin account and log in through a non-admin account, so launching elevated programs works like su. However, Linux is the prime target for server-focused malware, as it runs the vast majority of the world's web servers.
Another virus is people will call you and ask if you are the person who uses a certain device. trying to make you say "Yes" but you should NEVER say that. Or No. Work around it with something like "I am the person who uses the device" and the reason you dont say "yes" is because they can record ur voice and then call ur bank and when u tell bank u wanna transfer money and you will have a recording. So when they ask: yOu sure? They can use the record and make it your voice saying "Yes" also i know this cuz this exact thing happend to my mom.. But she avoided it like i said to
One time, I got a pop-up that downloaded a bunch of executables named unknown to my downloads folder automatically, I had to wipe my downloads folder immediately and run a Malware check...
Who else is 12 or younger and knows this shit is fake as a girl saying she's near u on a ad How can a grown up fall for this I saw these type and errors and just use task manger and click Google and end task and if I can't I would just turn off and turn my pc back on
LeafyIsHere's Kid And lets not forget the old favourite ads: 1 Weird Trick To Bust That Belly Fat! *insert nationality here* Millionaires hate this video!
LeafyIsHere's Kid That just means that you clearly waste most of your time on your computer, (hence you're probably very skilled with it). It's not a matter of intelligence.
The only way to know if there is an issue with a computer is by running a security type scanner software locally on the computer, or if the user sees some events on their computer that is not normal behaviour. No web site can determine if your computer has a virus or a malicious software from visiting it. The only way a virus or malicious software can get in to your computer is if you open a malicious link on a web page that installs a software in to your computer, or if you download and install a software that has malicious coding in it, or if you open an email attachment that is malicious.
Hello, Jim Sadly I fell for this scam and gave them a credit card. My red flags didn't go off until late. I immediately called Microsoft and they told me to shut down my computer because they had control. I also called the credit card company and canceled the card before any transaction cleared. Today I received a call from them stating they are going to suit me for not owning up to the contract. Any advice? Help
Had the viri... but easy to rid the fucka. DO NOT TRY TO CLOSE TABS. Restart ya com ASAP . Run ya malware or whatever u have.. it will find it if its good. Delete. Done.
When I hear text to speech voices on my friends computer I'm like "Oh sweet lemme fix that!" Then hover over the button as they scream then I'm like, "Nah screw that" then close it
I got one of these before, it locked my computer and told me to “Call Microsoft” . I tried to exit the tab but it wouldn’t let me and it wouldn’t work when I restart it. I panicked a lot that I kept pressing the exit button and it finally disappeared
Omg 😲 I almost gonna do it. I was scared Safari: "Your iPad have risk of a virus click here to be sure" Me: Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!! *Me searching* Is it true notifications in safari *Finds this*
Easy fix: Ignore the other misleading post!! Hold in your computer "On/Off" button for a least *30 seconds*. If you hold the button down for only a few seconds, you will put your computer in "Sleep Mode" which, when turned back on will reveal the same error screen. At least 30 seconds!! Restart your computer and the Warning screen should be gone. This process causes no harm to your computer. It worked for me.

The guy is exaggerating. You never have to go as far as what he did. Hell, with chrome, the browser doesn't even permanently lock.
Firefox is shit!! it freezes up completely when I use firefox but with chrome it doesn't freeze up at all.
originalhgc hey my name is Jeff 8
How to open task manager?
if you got this on a surface pro 4, my method always works
1. turn off your pc
2. wait a while 50 min - 2 hrs
3. go back to the internet
4. if it's loading CLOSE THE TAB
5. you got rid of it
I escaped one of those by restarting the computer
Same
MachinezYT i use task manager
MachinezYT I was lucky I escaped one cause I had an extra tab on safari and I quickly closed it
MachinezYT hey I did the same thing too
Senemie or you can use task kilker

Quick question, could the ad itself insert a virus onto your computer?
They tried it on me like 15 mins ago.

I'm 10 and I destroy these popups in 10 seconds. I keep on pressing the ok button until it shows a box that says "Prevent this page from creating more dialogues". After checking it, I can close the tab
good old grandma Bad Day?
In our family, im the youngest, but i know most about computers. I mean my friend uninstalled Avast, to clear up space!
No that's a stupid lesson.
We should teach them the values of AdBlock.

That feeling when you get a pop up ad saying your Mac Book has 3 viruses and you're using Windows. Also, it was a redirected link.
An Indian accent. I'm shocked! :-). These guys regularly phone me to say my computer is infected so you don't even have to be browsing.
OML XD tbh, if I got regular calls like that I'd probably tell them "But.... I don't own a computer..."
a hindu fella asked me to let him in my p,c. and he would fix my problem. i had him wait and still waitting.
“Your device has been infected with 27 viruses from visiting an adult website”
This happens to you too!
That’s happens to me even tho I don’t visit adult websites-
Is this fake?
@@f0am557 wdym
@@f0am557 No it isnt, a month ago when i posted my comment i had gotten this message and thats why i ended up at this video. It is fake but the app to download the “anti malware” IS the actual malware
I just shut down my computer when that happens or restart it.
CrazyForOrcas Production either will work
CrazyForOrcas Production Thats what I do and erase search history of it.
Just use task manager dude.
Only for a Windows Computer!
Its called Alt + F4
(Alt + F4, closes the current program running that's highlighted. If Alt + F4 don't work, hold Ctrl + Alt + Delete, than click ''Task manager'' than find the web browser, (for example Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Microsoft edge) and click ''End task'' if a popup comes up, click ''Yes'')
I'm too scared to open up mine.
Don’t fall for those because if you click on it they ACTUALLY hack you.
It happened to me I didn't fall for it I researched it
what to do after that pop ups u have any idea
Darshwana Rana If it is one that locks your browser and tab won't close on Windows press alt+ctrl+del click on task manager close firefox or chrome or edge or iexplorer. If Mac press alt+command+esc and select firefox chrome or safari in force quit applications when it pops up and then force quit button. If you never want to see the popups ever again even if you go to a website that shows the popup 100% everytime you visit use firefox with "popup blocker strict" extension and "uBlock Origin" extension and kiss the call center popups goodbye.
David Brown me too
David Brown I fell for it.
Same here
I am so sick of those scam artists from India and Africa. They should give them life in prison for putting this sh__t on the computers of people.
Typed in Yahoo.com into google
@@datlaunchystark1385 Since it is a DOS/win32 console program.
If any of this stuff pops up for you, a word of advice is to do some troubleshooting, try closing the page, then go on to ALT+F4, move on to CTRL+ALT+DELETE to access your task manager, crash your web browser through that, if none of this works which is very unlikely just turn off your computer.
astro I feel more worried not knowing how to deal with this things than knowing just what all can happen
I actually recently fell for this and I feel so dumb 🤦🏽♂️ even though I’ve done my own extensive research before.. got me good lol now trying to fix my computer properly

I got one of these and it wouldn't let me close out and I was like SHUT DOWN SHUT DOWN SHUT DOWN so I shut it down and watched this video asap. And I was like oh PHEW
Same lol but i paniked but also kinda assumed it was fake
I got one and freaked out and turned off my computer
Restarting can always fix this problem.

I came across this video because I was worried about having a virus cuz a "free download" website, and the a pop up that looked like it was from my phone popped up saying the name of my device! Had been infected by a virus. It said to download an app. I have a virus detector and it said nothing was wrong. I'm still worried. Plz, anyone tell me more information
lol i know how to fix it get a ad blocker, a vpn, and CLOSE THE BROWSER IF U SEE THIS.
Add this: if it won’t let you close the browser, use task manager.
I turned off my pc and deleted it out of my history. Does that work?
Thats what i did! thank god.
where was this video when I needed.
I get these all the time. I just ignore them.
It's tough for me to when it doesn't allow me to exit and has that stupid AI voice blabbing on
you could get a pop up blocker that could stop them all together
Mr. Mothman7 just turn off your computer

I have no life thus I have no personal information 🤣
I applaud her for being willing to inform us about what happened to her. I have fallen for a scam that cost me 1,200 dollars. That was years ago. The FCC sent me a check for 522.42 in March 2018 as a ripoff (scam) refund. I do not know if any of these clowns were ever prosecuted. So I got almost half of it back, but I was fortunate to get that.
It's these guys calling from India
azia
yes we do
yes but they will insist you they're in the states somewhere...
My mom called the number on the ad, the person talking to my mom cursed her out. Ugh it made me so mad and sick! This should stop.
"it's a wirus"
now, where have I heard that before...
This just happened to me today, I was so scared and almost fell for it, they were trying to get $7800 out of my bank account. Very sad and lesson learned, stay safe out there.
real life tip: don't trust anyone just your family.
People call my phone all the time and we ignore it!
This happened to me two days ago but I didn't fall for it. I just used my cellphone camera to take a picture of the fake warning with evil persons phone number on my iMac display. I will report the number to the Cyber crime authorities pronto...and share this on my face book. Thank you very much
Got one from Microsoft beeping so loud I couldn’t stand it!!!!
Thermic same with me
Luckily I did not pay becous I'm smart but I almost shit my pants

I got one of these suddenly appear on my screen a year or so ago. It wouldn't go away, and an Indian female recorded message started to tell me that my computer was blocked, do not turn off the computer etc etc. Fortunately I follow Jim Browning's channel, so I knew it was fake, so I switched off the computer and switched it back on with no ill effects whatever.
I got something bloke that but it "claimed" they were Microsoft asking for my pc password and details
Then I fought Why would Microsoft be asking for my pc password n stuff
They should all ready have it
No matter how smart you are, if they get people who don't know the Internet so well or it's so well crafted, that you fall for it.

When I get a potential scam call, I answer and say “Hello, thank you for calling PizzaHut! My name is _____ how may I help you?” They always hang up
Seriously I’ve seen this like 3 times, and never fell for it.

How Can anyone fall for this... ._. BRUH
i got that scam and immediately got rid of the pop up and searched it up here and turns out it's already famous
Wait, so macs are NOT immune to viruses like Apple thinks
Ryan Toomey Due to how Unix-likes and, more specifically, OS X works, Macs get barely any viruses... in the literal sense of the term (malicious code that attaches to executables and spreads, like good old CIH). However, they do get a lot of malware - just not as much as Windows does, only because they're far less popular. Trojans, worms, spyware/adware? All of that is there. And OS X is not low on the current big malware genre, ransomware. Even a well-known BitTorrent client for OS X, Transmission, got hijacked and combined with the KeRanger ransomware once!
Ryan Toomey they only reasons why Max's are less likely to get viruses is because they lock a lot of accessibility features unlike windows
Maciej Mućka I mean there is a bunch of java rats, works on Mac, Windows, Linux, etc
Password Recovery, Remote Desktop, whole shit ton of shit
+JustGlach Also, the main reason why Linux users tend to get less malware is because Linux users are tech-savvier on average and know better than to run random binaries or add random private repositories from the Internet. Also, they don't run around logged in as root, unlike what the average Windows setup looks like. One simple way to secure a Windows PC is to make a separate password-protected admin account and log in through a non-admin account, so launching elevated programs works like su. However, Linux is the prime target for server-focused malware, as it runs the vast majority of the world's web servers.
Ryan Toomey yep
Another virus is people will call you and ask if you are the person who uses a certain device. trying to make you say "Yes" but you should NEVER say that. Or No. Work around it with something like "I am the person who uses the device" and the reason you dont say "yes" is because they can record ur voice and then call ur bank and when u tell bank u wanna transfer money and you will have a recording. So when they ask: yOu sure? They can use the record and make it your voice saying "Yes" also i know this cuz this exact thing happend to my mom.. But she avoided it like i said to
"We're pretty smart if we fall it you probably will"
Someone with the IQ of 40 wouldn't fall for this.
My mom fell for it and let them into my computer
One time, I got a pop-up that downloaded a bunch of executables named unknown to my downloads folder automatically, I had to wipe my downloads folder immediately and run a Malware check...
Who else is 12 or younger and knows this shit is fake as a girl saying she's near u on a ad
How can a grown up fall for this I saw these type and errors and just use task manger and click Google and end task and if I can't I would just turn off and turn my pc back on
LeafyIsHere's Kid And lets not forget the old favourite ads:

LeafyIsHere's Kid That just means that you clearly waste most of your time on your computer, (hence you're probably very skilled with it). It's not a matter of intelligence.
The only way to know if there is an issue with a computer is by running a security type scanner software locally on the computer, or if the user sees some events on their computer that is not normal behaviour. No web site can determine if your computer has a virus or a malicious software from visiting it.
The only way a virus or malicious software can get in to your computer is if you open a malicious link on a web page that installs a software in to your computer, or if you download and install a software that has malicious coding in it, or if you open an email attachment that is malicious.
did he really try to run tree on mac lol nice
Hello, Jim Sadly I fell for this scam and gave them a credit card. My red flags didn't go off until late. I immediately called Microsoft and they told me to shut down my computer because they had control. I also called the credit card company and canceled the card before any transaction cleared. Today I received a call from them stating they are going to suit me for not owning up to the contract. Any advice? Help

It worked for me.
who TF falls for this?

Mac users. A Windows user doesn't fall for it. A Linux user has no way on Earth of being affected negatively. A prepared user of either brings out the VM and VoIP, then gets scambaity.
