Brand new week and brand new video on my channel!! So excited to talk with you today about some of the most useful and basic phrases and words for every occasion in Italy. I know, I know it must be intimidating at first trying to talk a new language. But I promise if you challenge yourself, Italians will be so grateful and appreciative even if you speak just a few words and phrases and that will allow you to connect to locals in a completely different way!
And I really hope you'll never leave it. I'm really moved for your expressions of affection for Italy. I think you are one of those persons who are the perfect ones to bring tourists all over Italy. You practically know it more than the most of the native Italians.
Haha! Right, bathrooms in Italy can be everywhere, with different dimensions and arrangements. I could write a book about that. They can be as big as a living room or at the end of some narrow staircase and as little as a cabinet (little cabin = piccola cabina = gabinetto = another word to say toilet, bathroom).
I'm catching up on the videos I have missed! This video is another Wow 💖 you are very good!, I have trouble with my speech from childhood and have struggled to learn italian, but you are better than some of the trained teachers 😊
@@StayFabulousTLI used to live in France with my family and learned French. I took Spanish class for 3 years in school. I'm trying to learn Italian and when I try to remember words, the vocabulary gets mixed. I'm American so English is my native language. It's challenging to learn other languages, but when I visit Italy this time, I will be better prepared. Thank you for your videos.
loving your videos! Going for our anniversary the beginning of March I have been jotting crazy notes to Rome! excited to try these phrases! Thank you for making them!
Hi LOVE your videos ❤ . Im coming to Rome the last week of march with my husband and daughter, do you have a website for your tours ? Or is it only for your patrions ? Kind regards Sarah x
Great advice! As someone who has traveled to Italy multiple times, I can vouch for the utility of these phrases -- especially "Il conto" since no one will ever bring you a check if you don't know it. The only problem with using "Dov'e" is that if you look and sound Italian (which I do), you may get your answer in rapid Italian and find yourself no better off than before you asked. 🤣 Last time I was in Rome I had Italian people asking me "Dov'e..." so many times I was going to wear a sign that read "English or Spanish please" for the remainder of my trip.😎
Hahaha! So true. Sometimes if you say something in Italian, Italians get so excited thinking you speak the language and will start talking to you like you are from here.
Дорогая Анастасия, через три дня я буду в Риме. Я не планирую в этот приезд покупать или обновлять гардероб, но я бы с удовольствием купила несколько топов, таких как на Вас в этом видео. Подскажите, пожалуйста, где я могу найти их. Заранее благодарна.
Is there a risk, if one uses these Italian phrases, that you will receive an answer in Italian and have no idea what was said? Or do Italians have an intuition about how to respond to non-native speakers? What about saying "Mi scusi, where I the restroom?" which shows that effort was made, while at the same time indicating that a response in English is requested?

I was told that you can't ask for leftovers from a restaurant. Now I know that I can, and how to ask for them. Grazie mille.
You absolutely can! Many years ago it was not a thing, but now any restaurant will be able to accommodate you.

Practice is the key! I used to speak fluent French and I lost it a bit after moving to Italy, so now its all about practicing over and over again.

Thank you so much! I do have a website fabulousvita.com
thanks for the tips! Are the Polizia approachable to ask directions from? Or should you avoid asking them anything?
Scusa, I should have said 'Cabineri' !
Yes, you can definitely ask them
Il tuo entusiasmo è eccezionale 😄👏👏
Grazie mille!
When to use Gracie?
"Grazie" is "thank you", so use it as you normally would - when you want to thank someone for something.
Great information ❤
Thank you Karen!
Great
Thanks!

I speak Italian fluently, but this is no advantage, because everyone thinks I am an Italian, and they don't pay anymore attention to me 😄

😂
❤️
😘
"Prego" means also "I pray". 😄
Well, now that I think about that, the meanings are related!
What a shame, the audio is damaged 😭
Please don’t yell, it’s annoying!
I know, right?! Out of control
