Hi Anastasia. Thank you for this video. Can you recommend a few good shoe stores in Rome? I'll be visiting soon and would love to bring a pair of Italian shoes home! Thank you.
Just got back from a cruise where we visited many cities in Italy. The heat and humidity was almost unbearable as they were having unusually high temperatures. Wear light breathable fabrics.
Hi Anastasia! I'll be going to Italy in April/May 24. I have been watching your all your videos. They have been great! I see that you are a stylist and I was wondering if you are available for a booking. Also, one of your videos covers restaurants and the fact that we should have them booked in advance. I was wondering if you could give me some names of some Tratts in Rome, closer to the Hotel Fontana? Thank you!
Hi! Thank you so much🙏 You can book a styling/shopping session with me while in Rome (based on availability) here: fabulousvita.com/product/personal-shopping/
Thank you for bringing up the environment! Reusable water bottles and natural fabrics are great and simple ways of reducing carbon footprint. I love thrifting my clothes!
How do you style a heavier woman who is somewhat introverted and dresses pretty much the same all the time for a trip to Rome? She's 5'2" and about 225 lbs.
I always wear Kaydee II Crocs black flip flops all over Italy and I go every year. As a Senior with knee pain, these are the best! I can walk for miles with no pain. So they might not be the most fashionable, but sometimes being fashionable is not the most important thing. I’ve never had any weird looks from people when wearing them in Rome. No heels for me and tennis shoes are too hot! So it’s Kaydee II’s for me!
Linen sounds great, but it wrinkles. What wrinkle resistant linen do you recommend? Also what is the price range of the clothes you personal shop for. What brand of Tenny shoes do you wear in Italy? Are sketchers or Sorel ok?
Please wear one, no one is gonna judge you for that if you are around visiting archeological sites, locals don't need them because they are not under the sun for hours as you. In fact, italian tourists wear hats too
Hello 😊 I wear hats as I have very thin sparse hair (can’t count the number of times I have asking why I am balding!) would bucket style hats or even cloche hats in fabric or straw be acceptable in Rome? Visiting in early June and so loving your videos.
If you are coming to Rome, definitely spend some time in Villa Borghese. There are so many things to do there as a family. As far as the neighborhood, I would look into Prati. I believe it's one of the best for big families. If you have any specific questions - happy to answer them :)
Hi. Is it still a summer weather in late September ? I don't know if I should bring a light jacket, a heavy jacket, no jacket, umbrella, raincoat ? If not straw hats, then what kind of hats ? Cotton, fedora, bucket, etc. Thanks.
Late September it's definitely still a summer weather. The only difference is that it cools down in the evenings, so a light cardigan or a jacket will do. Definitely nothing heavy. It might rain occasionally, so umbrella might come handy, but most hotels and airbnbs have those for you.
Hello! Would you consider Palermo a big city where a straw hat is a no-no? I always wear a structured straw hat when I travel to protect from the sun. Also I will be traveling to Sicily in late September/early October. Thank you!
Hi! I'm sure you have answered this before, but do they have plus size stores? Thats probably a stupid question lol, but in wanting to retire soon and move to Italy. Grazie mille!
Hi! It's definitely not a stupid question. Unfortunately, in Italy there are still not a lot of plus size stores. You do have some, but the choices are pretty limited. If your budget allows, bespoke would probably be the best option.
Italian women usually don't wear hats in big cities, even in the summer. With that said, you don't have to do what they do, so if you want to wear a hat-certainly wear one.
Italian here, please wear a hat, whatever kind you like. The reason why locals don't wear them is because we are probably out of the house for 30 minutes so we don't need one. Tourists absolutely need to wear a hat, in fact, italian tourists too usually wear hats
I have a question, in cities like Milan, Florence, Venice, Luca, Sienna, Cinqueterre, Verona, San Gimignano and Rome, do these tips apply to these cities?????. Grazie mille
I know that you must cover your knees in cathedrals etc, but I find it’s really hard to find them. Do you think it’s okay it’s slightly above knees? Are they really strict with teenagers? My daughter is really tall so even Bermuda shorts tends to go slightly above knees. She doesn’t want to wear dress or skirts so I’m worried she won’t be able to go in. BTW, we are travelling in July so it will be super hot.
Hi A. 👋 hope you’re managing to stay cool - I’ve heard about the heat there 🥵 🔥 Question: How common is it for apartments there to have air conditioning? Do most restaurants have it?
OMG the heat wave...I've never experienced anything like this. I am usually pretty good with the heat, but this one...😳🥵 It is common for apartments and restaurants to have air con, but there are still some of course that don't have it. On top of that some chose not to turn it on because of the prices (it's extremely expensive in Italy.) So no matter if you go to the stores, restaurants, museums, etc you will not have that air con blasting like in the U.S.
Thank you. I am visiting Italy early September for my birthday and super nervous. These videos have been super helpful. Is it okay to wear sweatpants/leggings and sneakers for the airport/trains? To be comfortable for our long flights?
It mainly depends on what you are looking for. Florence is known for its leather good, including leather jackets. Rome of course has a very strong overall fashion game, including artisan stores, atelier and boutiques with made in Italy brands. I believe if you know where to go, you will find gems in both cities.
The general rule is that both men and women need to cover their knees and upper arms when visiting Vatican, so I wouldn't take that chance, just to be on the safe side.
Thank you for the valuable information!!! I have two questions-is it appropriate to wear nice black leggings with long tops? What luxury fashion house for a bag would you recommend buying based on good prices compared to US? I’ll be there is September!!!! 😊 thank you
Hi Krista! Usually, Italian women don't really go for leggings and long tops. Italian style is very put together. But it also depends on a lot of other factors - how old you are (in Italy the younger you are the more relaxed you are with your outfits), what kind of tops and leggings, how you put them together etc. As far as which bags have the best value compared to the U.S. right now, I'd say - LV and Hermès
Not much, just maybe to give a tip or get something small like an espresso or a bottle of water. You can use your card everywhere. Wouldn't do more than 200-300.
I appreciate your Vlog. I watched your videos before I visited Rome couple weeks ago. Rome was super hot. We stayed in our hotel from noon to 6pm some days coz of the heat. I beg to disagree about your idea on straw hat. I am not Italian, I am a tourist. I don’t need to pretend that I’m not a tourist. I wish I had a straw hat when I walking around Rome in the heat.
I am not giving you guys my idea of straw hats. I share with you Italian fashion rules and the way Italians do things but as I mentioned numerous times in my video you do you
This is the video I needed the most. I am so used to traveling to Europe, but I am always stumped in Italy.
So happy to hear that Christina!

Yes, the heat and humidity are unbearable this year in Italy. It feels like every year it gets worse.
Im going to italy today for 6 days😊 thanks for the help!!
My pleasure! Have the most wonderful time!
@@StayFabulousTL 😆Thanks!
Linen is the best , no doubt , hands down
A fabulous video. Thank you 😊
Thank you for watching😊
I’ll be there next month! Thank you for this list ❤
My pleasure! Have the most wonderful time❤️
Thanks for video🙏🏻
My pleasure!
Why not show examples of sneakers and sandals?

What kinds of hats are fashionable for Rome in the summer?
do you recommend a specific steamer? I have looked up some but they warn against using in Italy due to wattage.
Yes, exactly. For the steamer it's a bit tricky. I usually have one for Europe and one for the U.S.
Can you wear sandals in the churches? I just read, no sandals, but that was the very first time I have seen that.
I've never heard of that rule. To my knowledge you certainly can.
What basic t-shirts do you wear? They are cute.
Thank you! It's by a brand One Eleven.
What about wide-brimmed hats that are not straw hats?
Thank you for bringing up the environment! Reusable water bottles and natural fabrics are great and simple ways of reducing carbon footprint. I love thrifting my clothes!
Who gives a toss about that?
As promised, here is what to wear in summer in Italy!
Hi! Thanks so much for posting this! I’m going to Italy in June of 2023! Would the shoes Chacos (hiking sandals) work for walking?
Are Italians now wearing sneakers day to day? I know a few years ago it as a big no no, but I feel like maybe things have changed with recent fashion?
Oh yea, they definitely do.
I’ve watched a few of your videos and I’m in love … all your topics and advices and style preferences … I’m a huge fan! Xoxoxooxoxox
The sweetest! Thank you🥰 Happy that you are enjoying the content. Welcome to the channel!
How do you style a heavier woman who is somewhat introverted and dresses pretty much the same all the time for a trip to Rome? She's 5'2" and about 225 lbs.
Hi there! your video is great, but there aren't many tips for men. If flip flops are a no no, then what shoes do you recomend for guys?
Great tips!
Thank you🥰
I always wear Kaydee II Crocs black flip flops all over Italy and I go every year. As a Senior with knee pain, these are the best! I can walk for miles with no pain. Lisa, absolutely. I always say it in my videos - you need to wear what makes you comfortable, especially when it comes to shoes.
Linen sounds great, but it wrinkles. What wrinkle resistant linen do you recommend? Also what is the price range of the clothes you personal shop for. What brand of Tenny shoes do you wear in Italy? Are sketchers or Sorel ok?
Are the style rules for Naples the same as Rome? Or can I wear a hat or shorts and not stand out?
What kind of hats are appropriate in the big cities if straw hats are a no?
Please wear one, no one is gonna judge you for that if you are around visiting archeological sites, locals don't need them because they are not under the sun for hours as you. In fact, italian tourists wear hats too
Thanks for this! Are crop tops appropriate in Rome?
It's definitely on trend in Rome this year.
Are shorts allowed for boys/man in churches?
If straw hat is not recommended then how someone can protect their face from getting tanned in hot sun of July?
Hello 😊 I wear hats as I have very thin sparse hair (can’t count the number of times I have asking why I am balding!) would bucket style hats or even cloche hats in fabric or straw be acceptable in Rome? Visiting in early June and so loving your videos.
Thank you! Yes, you can do a bucket style hat. Have a wonderful trip!
very nice
Thanks!
👏 Impeccable.
Thank you😉
What is recommended as a good walking shoe if you have foot pain?
Hallo, ich möchte meinen Steamer mitnehmen für meine Leinen Kleidung. Brauche ich für den Strom einen Adapter? Danke für die tollen Videos!
You got it! It depends on what country you are coming from, but if you are in Europe, you will not need an adaptor.
Loved all of your advice, can't wait to plan our trip. Any advice for families with children? Preteen girl, teen boy and baby.

In Palermo you will definitely be fine wearing a hat. Have a beautiful trip!

Amazing as usual 👏👏
Thank you🙏
Is it ok for kids to wear short shorts? Or teens?
Yes, absolutely.
Doesn’t linen wrinkle bad though?
How much it wrinkles depends on the quality and type of linen. But in general when you wear linen its suppose to wrinkle. That's the beauty of it!
What kind of hat should be worn in big cities if not straw hat?

I’m going in August. Is it very hot in August.
Yes, very🥵
I have a question, in cities like Milan, Florence, Venice, Luca, Sienna, Cinqueterre, Verona, San Gimignano and Rome, do these tips apply to these cities?????. Grazie mille
Yes, absolutely! And that's why from time to time I give examples of certain places so you know which tips apply to big cities vs beach towns.
I know that you must cover your knees in cathedrals etc, but I find it’s really hard to find them. Do you think it’s okay it’s slightly above knees? Are they really strict with teenagers? I had no issues with this “rule” to cover knees. I’ve traveled through Italy multiple times and nobody said a word.
Hi A. 👋 hope you’re managing to stay cool - I’ve heard about the heat there 🥵 🔥

Is it hot in June?
Thanks!
Last June it was already extremely hot
Thank you. I am visiting Italy early September for my birthday and super nervous. These videos have been super helpful. Is it okay to wear sweatpants/leggings and sneakers for the airport/trains? To be comfortable for our long flights?
Hi Keiana! I am so happy you are finding them helpful. Yes, absolutely
Can you wear blue jeans?
For sure!
Is there better clothing shopping in Rome or Florence in the fall/ winter?
It mainly depends on what you are looking for. Florence is known for its leather good, including leather jackets. Rome of course has a very strong overall fashion game, including artisan stores, atelier and boutiques with made in Italy brands. I believe if you know where to go, you will find gems in both cities.
Would this apply to en f September first week of October? Still hot
Also my husband wears linen shorts but they are slightly on top of his knees. Would that be a problem for the Vatican.
One more question 🙈 linen is cheaper in Italy? Thanks
I will make another video for fall!
It is cheaper.
😊 thank you

How much cash do you recommend to bring to Rome for 5 days. Thanks
Not much, just maybe to give a tip or get something small like an espresso or a bottle of water. You can use your card everywhere. Wouldn't do more than 200-300.
Would you consider the weather in May Spring or Summer?
Of course, it depends on May. But usually, the beginning of May - spring and the end - summer :)
Wear ski jacket all year round 😆
LOL
❤❤❤
Can
a steamer? i'm sorry what?
