- Today I'm sharing everything I brought with me and my travel capsule for 5 weeks in Italy. I created approx 40 outfits with a 16 item travel capsule with carry-on luggage. I hope this helps you pack light next time you travel!

Great tips. I’m preparing for a 2 week Spain trip with only a backpack and can’t wait to use for videos for packing inspo. My favorite travel light hack is bringing a bold printed silk scarf. Wear as a top, use for additional warmth, as a beach coverup or blanket, or a pop of color on your bag, as you’ve shown here. Options are endless and they take up so little space!
I really love to see your process when you put looks together for the day. I learn so much! And just to say again, thebRome shorts from Sezane maybe my all time favorite style of shorts, something not easy to find, but a WOW piece that I love everytime I wear it. Its shape seem to make me legs appear thinner, its so stylish on just about everyone. Great video, as usual!!
My favourite video you did was when you styled that one dress in about 50 different ways. Would you be able to create an autumn/winter multiple outfit inspiration video? Love your channel and how you encourage people to focus on how to style outfits over just shopping for more clothes.

Alyssa, love this video and your outfits!! I am also dying to know the brand of your black trousers. I have a similar pair that is not holding up well, and would love to find a more sustainable option that can be a part of my closet for years!!! Thank you!
This was a fun video to watch. I don’t understand the difference between “tension”, “interest”, “contrast” and not working! Sometimes you would put things together and say these words and other times you would say it doesn’t work. I would love a video on the little nuances that you are vibing with that make you think something works (in regards to tension, contrast or interest) or not. Well done!!
Tension and contrast are similar and overlap, but contrast can refer to actual, visual contrast, and slightly leans that way, whereas tension is a little more the end result of putting together pieces that have different vibes, i.e. different styles or levels of formality.
Both are ways of creating interest, which can be anything that makes an outfit seem less flat and one dimensional. Whether something 'works' or not though is largely in the eye of the beholder and a matter of personal preference/taste (which is often easier to see through consistency than anything else, since so much of it will be subconscious.)
Just an observation, you seem to keep forgetting that your dark hair gives you an automatic tie-in to any dark accessories. 🥰
Such great variety! I'm off on several trips this fall and will follow your lead with carry-on only. In reality, few people are noticing every detail of what you wear. They're enjoying your company and your smile. No need for an entirely new outfit each day. I recall your friend loaned you the navy dress for the trip. Would you please tell us the brand of the dress and also where she got it, if that's known? At least the brand would help those of us interested keep an eye out for that or something similar. It really great that you make it look so easy to pack light and still be able to dress for all basic occasions and look chic. I do have the shapeless long black dress that I got from H&M years ago but looking here it about the vibe of how you wear it because otherwise it could look frumpy. When you travel it almost like a retreat or something because you stay so long. Thanks for sharing and ta ta for now.

Love the creative inspiration. The one piece I’m having trouble with is the navy handbag but maybe it’s black? Just wonder if straw or cream could have brought more versatility. Love the pops of pink in the capsule.
totally. I have straw bags at home but they took up too much space ... i'm saving for a lighter puzzle bag as well. :)

We went this summer to San Felipe @ the Baja, and also wade some tricks to ware awesome changes in our 8 days of trip. And just between us, I hate summer, us my torture with my medical problems. Thank God fall is just in the corner. And my creativity mind will wake up. Besides I hate wearing small Topps and bottoms😓

Love it and your thinking out aloud for us to hear how you made outfit decisions…Even though we are not even near similar body types ( I am a size 22 ) - I see many ways to amp my wardrobe separates into cool outfits…LOVE those trousers..and am gonna look for a good pair that will not be a fortune..but in a fabric that is not polyester ( harder for us curvy girls..)…Thanks for the design ideas…

I am seeing this just after I got to Israel for 3 months 😂. I think I underpacked. There are clothes I originally packed that I removed just before leaving. I need to practice 😂

Love this! It is coming back to spring/ summer in australia and i hate all my summer dresses from last yr (and im a dress person!) 😢 ive had the urge to just go out and buy new but I also want to do it slowly to so i find the right pieces

I love how the maxi dresses look on you, and I wonder wether a maxi skirt with splits instead of the black pants would have been just as chic - but cooler - in the summer heat in Italy. I generally liked how you put looks together, and the brighter addition of red and pink, even the taupe shorts, really suit you.

Super Alyssa as always! Merino wool is seasonless, unlike cashmere. It is a fabric that can be worn in summer too. Frankly, yr too old to wear mini skirts, those are for teenagers, despite having great legs, like you do, a knee length is better. Wish yd shown all the 16 pieces you packed. The only outfit I liked from this video was at 17.30

I am packing for a 5-week trip that involves 2200-mile cross country driving, 10-day cruise to Nova Scotia, 2 flights, and 2 weeks in 2 big cities. Because it straddles end of summer and early autumn from US south to Province of Quebec, it is hard to pack.
Love the outfit but isn’t it difficult to walk in public restrooms when the pants are so long. I’ve done it and it’s bothersome

you video of the pink mini skirt outfit was at the start of your trip..my Question.....when you actually wore it, did you find it limiting in activities you could participate in ? It seems it's not practical if you want to do any kind of exploring on a whim, Like taking a boat ride ,exploring a cemetery, some churches wouldn't allow you. In retrospect....would you still recommend a mini skirt to visit a foreign city you want to explore?
