Sono di Palermo del capo.... E guardare il vostro video mi ha fatto emozionare... Sono felice che vi siete trovati bene nella mia Palermo ❤ una bella famiglia
The most amazing thing is how Willa is so open and interested to everything around her and will try all the foods without even flinching. Digging into lemons! A truly remarkable girl! The world really is her oyster! And yes, Sicilian street food is essentially poor people's food. It's the real deal if you want to experience what ordinary families eat. It needs to be hearty for hardworking people!
Wow, what an interesting view on Italian street food. It seems very different from what you can find in the central and northern parts of Italy, lots of fat and calories, of course mainly seafood. I admire your open mindedness when it comes to unknown ingredients and by Willa's appetite you can see you are good role models ( my grandchildren are much pickier !). I love your videos , thank you for sharing !
Thanks for the kind comment! Always love hearing from you ❤️. Willa can be picky at times, but will give most foods a try. It’s been fun seeing her grow and try all sorts of foods!
oh yes well Sicily, never been there but very high on my travellist.... just like Iceland. So your videos are very cool to watch and see what i might not be missing out on trying ! Thanks for sharing. Ciao ragazzi...

You are three great food experts❗️But it's already a little mean us in the morning, where actually still breakfast time is, these delicious things before to eat. 😂 Your star food blogger looks very pretty again, with her hair bow. She reminds me a little of Pebbles. 😂😂 😇 Thank you for your beautiful video. 🙏 🙋♂️
Thanks for the upload. I enjoyed your video a lot. Haven't been to Palermo but several times to Sicily's east coast between Messina and Syracus. I especially like Taormina (I spent several hours sitting on the steps of the Greco-Roman theatre which offers an amazing view on the Etna and the ocean) and Ortygia, the wonderful historic centre of Syracus.
Hello, Great video, great family I just came back from Sicily, we stayed 2 nights in Palermo and 2 nights in Cefalu, we alsou visited Trapani and Erice, i strongly recomend to visit Cefalu, it is beautiful, and alsou visit România Keep up the good videos 😁
We were planning on Cefalu but Willa got a bit sick and we didn’t want to put her through a busy travel day in case! So sad about the timing! 😭 Happy to hear you loved it though! 💕
Way jealous and homesick (again). Love Palermo. Lived there 9 months of the mission there. Y'all gotta try some Carne di Cavallo sandwiches. Love Arancine, cannoli, etc.
Hi Guys, I am very happy to see your video. I am happy that you have had the opportunity to taste and appreciate some of the specialties of my city; and I’m also happy that you have enjoyed yourself. Come back to Palermo soon, and also recommend your friends to come and visit us, we will be happy to welcome you with open arms! 💚
9:33 These are looking very delicious. I would definitely like to try some. I only know sardines as drenched in oil out of tin cans (but I like even those 😊), but fresh made, they must be outstanding.
Great video about one of my favorite islands in Europe! I went to the same market in Palermo a few years ago and also tried the panino with spleen... Not too impressed I have to admit.... the cannoli were much more my thing 😂
I would love it, if you guys tried some Georgian food (a lot of German cities: Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne, Hamburg, Aachen etc and most capitals have some Georgian restaurants)... Nice Episode! I love how adventurous and open you are about trying new food. Personally, I don't I would have tried the liver-lung combo or the sardines but I love a good Canolli. I've had the best one in Prague actually...
A beautiful family and I love that you went to Palermo (my family’s hometown). On a side note, cat in Italian is gatto with double t (it’s very close to Spanish which is what you put with the one t).
Yall are so adventurous with the food! I'm not a liver fan, so the lung and spleen would not be on my list to try.... but love yall do try so many new foods. Willa is learning to be very outgoing and what a great eater!
Italy has a wonderful restaurant culture ,but streetfood is hard to find. I only knew the arancini . The sandwiches seemed to be very special, traditional "cucina povera",with the chicken peas maybe arabian heritage. Interesting,
Medetarian food is always good. I would dive into any kind of seafood, I love it. Couldnt watch it without a watering mouth. I really envy you. Risa, when do you publish all the recipes. I am sure you already banned the bath room scale. Poor Willa, just get lemon and a dry bread looks like prison dishes with bread and water only(in the former days) and still smiling, laughing, giigling. I already asked in a former vid: when does Willa get her own cat ? It seems she loves animals and its nice when kids grow up with animals to find respect to them. My mum always said: Quäle nie ein Tier zum Scherz, denn es fühlt wie du den Schmerz. Does your landlord already has a feeding station or birds nest in your garden ? Wathing them for Willa better than tv.
I really enjoy every video of you so much - and with a smile on my face, I think I should add the typical german reaction to them because I haven‘t seen it yet: I hope Willa will be fine in some years with being in all the videos- children are often very rude to each other and I hope there won‘t be any „mobbing“ when she will be about 14 years old…. Just the absolut typical german comment, i enjoy the video very much!
oh what a wonderful video of awesome Palermo! I have never been there, but I tasted original arancini and loved them! And Willa...... okay let me give you my debut as a fortune teller: Willa will study and become a veterinarian. As a gourmet she will open up a five star restaurant for cats and doves, because seeing "happy tummy animals" is the most satisfying pleasure for her. Pet owners will love this restaurant and trust Willa's recipes, because they know she is a vet. People will come from far away just to spend some time in the next door hotel, which is owned by Willa's husband. (A Dogwhisperer) and watch their happy pets. 😉 Edit: Oh my magic sphere shows something additional: After the pet owners see their beloved pets satisfied, they head down the road, aiming to "Risa's & Tanner's", a restaurant with the subtitle "21 Treasures From 7 Continents"!
Oh my gosh this is the best fortunate we have ever received!! 😂😂 Love how personalized and in sync it is with all the things we love. Thanks for giving us a smile!
Wow this is uncommon for children, Willa really likes sour stuff. Bitten right into a lemon, like a champion :D and no problem with the pomegranate-juice either. I just love it that you guys are such foodies. Now I am hungry for italian food too :D
Enjoy your stay! If you are still there. Can you tell me, which camera you are using for filming and are you using a dedicated microphone or just the one of the camera?
@@OurStorytoTell Thanks for your response. Wow, I hoped you had something more compact and cheap, but in that case I could also use my reflex camera for making some videos at vacation. ;)
Eek the thought of spleen & Lung 🤢 have had liver / hart don’t like it brrr The sweet treat looked alot lot beter 😂. Awww Willa looking for Cats thats just so so cute 🥰
I was amazed and awed at the food you guys were eating. I just ate breakfast but watching this made me hungry....that was until the spleen lung sandwich 🤢. I'm telling you, Willa is the star of the show, such an angel. God bless and take care.
😂 that’s what we thought at first about the spleen and lung sandwich. Honestly, you put enough lard and salt and lemon on it and it’s tasty 😋’. Hope that didn’t spoil your appetite for the rest of the day!
You guys are REALLY adventurous foodies! I wouldn't expect your openness, having experienced some USA visitors in Europe. However, don't worry about too much "grease" and "fat"; the secret is to eat all sorts of food in moderation and you will have a balanced diet.
Exactly! Balance and moderation are key. That can look different for everyone, but that’s why it’s great, because not everyone is the same or has the same tastes and that’s ok :).
The ingredient that gives the arancina that yellow/orange color, is actually saffron. I was in that same place just a few weeks ago: I did go back home for my birthday and, when I go back to Palermo, no matter what time of the year, one of the first thing i do, is going and get some pane e panelle, o panino ca meusa, long story short: I guess I am glad that finally, Palermo is Not famous for the Mafia but for its beautiful places, its good people and its wonderful food.
@@OurStorytoTell Hi guys, yes I am, from Palermo. I remember when all those little shops at "O Capu" (that is what we call the Capo Market in dialect in Palermo) used to be small dismissed warehouses, until the end of the 90s when young entrepreneurs started to transform them one by one into what you have seen. In the beginning, they were visited mainly by us uni students but a few years later they became more mainstream. Now I live in London. Good luck guys, have always safe travel. Ciao.
Well, little correction! Arancine in Palermo don't have cheese. Also in the panelle we put parsley and in the crocché (fried potatoes thingy) both parsley and mint (only the OGs have mint)
The beauty of Italy is that it is completely different, if you are only in Sicily you will only see the Sicilian culture, I recommend that you also go to central and northern Italy to get a more complete view. Italy has always been divided until the 1861, so the cultures in each reagion are very different
Just FYI that is not ceviche you are eating. You keep calling it that but ceviche is a historic dish from Latin America and has nothing to do with Italian cuisine. What you are eating is an Italian sea food salad “Insalata Di Mare”.
This was a very sweet video! But guys, please don't put Panelle and crocchè directly on the table in the market. Unless you want cholera, or stomachache which is basically cholera
Idk in this particular case but in Italy we don't use cilantro nearly as often as in the US (or Mexico). It's much more likely that you find that kind of "sea salad" with parsley instead.
It's a genetic predisposition to cilantro. 15-20% of the world has a gene that makes it taste like soap or detergent. It's offensive to my tongue. And I eat EVERYTHING. Hahahaha
Dispiace per voi ,ma dovevate visitare tutta l'Italia ,certo per assaggiare tutto ci vogliono 15 anni, almeno una settimana per città, e qualche giorno nei piccoli centri e paesini
