While I personally like the 2019 version of the Clocktower better as a set, I definitely think that the Hospital Wing interior on the newer set is a lot better than the older one. While the older Clocktower set does have two privacy curtains instead of one, the newer Hospital Wing has more to offer when it comes to hospital stuff. It has more space, an extra bed and table, and the clock mechanism does not get in the way like in the older Clocktower set. I understand why they placed the clock gear on the Hospital Wing floor on the older set, but I like the fact that the clock mechanism is in its own section on the newer set. The inclusion of Madam Pomfrey as a minifigure is a big bonus. While it would’ve been better if she had a red dress piece with apron printing at the front to make her more accurate to their film appearance, I still appreciate that she has both printing at the front and at the back, even if the dress piece is a reuse from Princess Leia. I also love that they gave new torso pieces for the main trio rather than lazily reusing the exact same figures from 2019, which would’ve been inaccurate to the scene this set is set in. It’s likely that at least one of the golden trio figures will be reused in a future set, but it’s great to get newer versions of them instead of the ones we got in 2019. Another thing I have to applaud the designers for is the fact that you can angle the Hospital Wing section, meaning that the Hogwarts lineup from 2021 no longer has to look like a large wall of Hogwarts sections. Overall, I’m satisfied with this set, even though the main reason I will get it is because of Madam Pomfrey.
I honestly like the old 2019 set better.I also think they should have put a golden minfig in the box like all the other sets since it that same anniversary look and they already included the chocolate frog cards
That would’ve been great, but the 20th anniversary trend already expired, even though they are still using green roofs for the newer Hogwarts sets. As for the chocolate frog cards, they come in the Hermione’s Study Desk polybag, the promotional Gryffindor dorms set, the 2021 Advent Calendar, the 2022 Hospital Wing set, and this year’s Hogwarts Trunk set, which none of those sets are labeled as 20th Anniversary sets.
This is my favorite set of the new line also. It looks really great and the accessories are fantastic.
