Why not actually film the wear test instead of posting a first impression and making a text post? With/out primer, powder, etc. It's much more helpful when it's thorough. Actually the most helpful is how Magdalene Janet does a multiple day wear test.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I'd be happy to stick with the channel... I've been subbed for a long time! You do helpful and comprehensive comparisons, swatches etc! IMO that's what sets you apart. I just never quite understood the point of "here's the bottle and here's how it looks when I put it on my face" lol. I mean that's going to rule out maybe 1% of foundations. It's not really a review; at best it will show us the initial finish + shade match. With eyeshadow, blush, it makes sense. But reading the other comments, it seems that ppl really just want a landing page to express their excitement that they, too, bought it at launch or want it. I can see the value in that.
@@notimportant123 you’re so lovely! And I’m super happy that you expressed your concern and your opinion. Like I always say, this is what makes us a community. It is one of those funny things. Ideally, in the days of Magazines this is what we did, we would take a week and wear the foundation every day and then publish a review when everything was perfect and decided. But as a content creator in a fast moving world, and I’ve had to adjust to this myself since I come from the magazine world, in four or five days you can make the most eloquent perfect video and everyone’s made their decision already on whether or not they should buy it and the video gets no views and generates no interest. Sad, isn’t it? So the only way I find to bridge the gap is to do a first impression and then follow up with how it’s doing along the way. I also, as you know, make sure to answer all my comments so that when someone asks me how it’s wearing now, they can get that personalized service. To be totally honest, I agree with your point of view. And also just a sad is the fact that the channel would not survive. Crazy isn’t it? But super happy to have you here and always happy to hear any opinion that you have!

I just walked into Sephora for my new Sol de Janeiro body oil and they had just put out this foundation! I hadn’t even heard of it! Needless to say, I picked it up, and can’t wait to test it tonight! I purchased 10C in store but would have never chosen it online. It looks super light online but it’s dark enough in person. I would have chosen the next cool shade online which was super dark in person. Neutral was super olive toned!

This foundation looks great on you! Wow, didn’t know he came out with one. The Haus Labs one did not work on me, too matte. Glad it was a sample. I’ll have to check this one out in Sephora.

I agree completely on the shades being not what one would suspect. The warms lean very warm IMO, The Sephora beauty insider matched me to 12WO so I hope it does not end up looking green but we shall see. For reference in CT beautiful skin I am a 7W. In Estee Lauder Futurist I am 3W Tawny. I suggest as well that one goes in store to shade match. I have hyperpigmentation to cover so let's see how it does. Thanks for the prompt review!
I have one little spot of hyperpigmentation, Donna and I built it up on that spot and it seemed to do really well. I hope it works for you as well. But, yes, it takes more time to go in store but I think, in the long run, with a foundation like this, going in store first actually saves time.

So far i am liking how it feels. Super similar to haus labs IMO but not as tacky feeling. Finding a shade was tough though!
Same I couldn’t find a right shade for me at Sephora !! I love his makeup it’s my favorite brand but it’s too glittery for my liking I’m more of a matte girl lol

Absolutely agree on the fact that it feels very much like the gaga product but, yes, gaga is a little bit more tacky and a little bit more Matte. This has definite luminosity to the natural finish
Looks lovely on you. I was going to order the 2N but will now probably go for 1C after seeing this. I held off as shipping to the UK used to be free over a certain amount but is now £17 even on a large order.
Hello Amanda! Oh I’m so glad that this was helpful in figuring out the way the undertones run. I think it’s kind of along the lines of Charlotte so see if you are cool in Charlotte as well. Going from free to 17 is no fair. I’m sorry.

Oh Shannon, with your slight olive undertone you might really be perfect for the neutral shade. Because this is neutral kind of liens almost orange which would kind of be nice on an olive complexion. Now I really have to give this some thought
I was looking at this foundation and according to my experience I wanted to take 8N or 11N but I checked on the virtual webcam on Mario's website and it turned out that my color is 9W. I was shocked because, like you, I always wear foundations in N colors 😊

Haus Labs is my current favorite. How do you think that these compare? Especially in the finish. My skin is super dry in the winter, so I appreciate the help from a little glow in my foundation!

You think they could have held this until 2023, lol. This looks great on you. I was worried when you first applied it that it looked a little yellow, but with all your makeup done it looks like its quite a flattering shade on you.

I just got a sample of this product today to test it out with my combination skin …. I honestly love the formula just from testing it on my hand but for me the real test is when I wear it to work for 9 hours and see how it holds up then….. thank you for this video !
If your schedule allows, I would love to hear how it holds up on combination skin for nine hours. That is definitely the true test. I agree

One thing I’ve noticed at home that I didn’t see in the store is that this product has mica particles in it that make the foundation shine a little. I’m not big on light-reflecting things since my skin gets bit shiny on its own throughout the day. But let’s see what happens.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty hi there ! So I tried the foundation for the whole day and my opinion is this product is a no go. While it initially applies so seamlessly and blends well, at the end of the day my face is so shiny and the coverage disappears. I don’t have very oily skin only slightly but I think those light reflecting particles are not a good idea. I think there are so many products now that will give you the “glow” but in the right places and not all over the face. Foundation should be just that- foundation for the makeup. With that said, it’s not a great product for combination and especially oily skin. And the coverage disappears like you didn’t put anything on your skin. So yeah.
I tried it today, was drying on my mature, dry skin, N2 very white, and gray

Maude, brilliant suggestion. Ok. I just used my phone and walked throughout my house into quite a few different lighting areas, from bathroom "true daylight" to bright kitchen, etc. ALL matched me as 5N...which, interestingly enough, is the shade that I would have ordered if I'd ordered blindly online but, in store, the sales associate matched me with, as you know, 6 warm.

Interesting you are shade 11 in the PML foundation as that’s a cool/pink undertone !! I’m a cool undertone and it matched me to shade 10C in this MUM foundation using the shade 11 in the PML in the shade finder, you wearing shade 11 and matching to a warm shade is really interesting
AGREED Danielle!!!! I am NEVER a warm shade. The only time I have been matched to warm other than this is with the Charlotte Beautiiful. I ordered, from her, my usual neutral but, in store, they moved me to warm. The Pat foundation is PERFECT on me and, in Chanel, I even go cool...again, matched in store. It's SUCH a mystery. And I avoid the sun like a vampire so it's not some weird tan either.
When will we be finished with foundations! I have so many foundations I’ll probably pass on this one. That doesn’t mean I didn’t love watching. Like you, I find Charlotte Tilbury tends to go orange. Not a look I go for. Thank you for your, very quick review.❤

I was wonder how you think this would be with someone with combined skin? I get oily around my T-Zone.
My other question (it’s a little strange), but some foundations have a sparkle to them when a light is held up for the luminous part. Does this have any sparkle to it with light?
Hello Amy! Not a strange question at all. Many are saying that this has a bit of a sparkle to it. I haven’t really seen it. I think it’s in shades that are a bit lighter than the shade I chose. We saw this also with the new Charlotte concealer, if you recall. The lighter shade had a bit of almost glitter effect to them and I am hearing that about this foundation. However, on combination skin, it would be lovely.

They kept this under wraps pretty well. And then all of a sudden, it was everywhere and released the next day. So it was a kind of a whirlwind promotion.
I ordered on line a 5 n went into store and they only had like 5 or 6 shades out none matched me no 5 out the lady that helped me must be new because she really didn’t know what to look for , 🤞
Oh I GET SO FRUSTRATED. Did you see the 5N to see if it worked or was that one not out? You were on your own, darn it.

Yes. The Sephora foundation guide is a mess. I am in San Antonio for a brief trip and went to see them for myself. The app says I am an 11N, but that was way off. I went with my gut and I got the 5n and I was happy to get it right!

I went in store they didn’t have 6C the colors were so off. They had 7c she said I could use it for summer shade . So I went and ordered online same day we will see

Do you notice any shimmer in this ? I’ve seen on tik tok that it contains shimmer ?
Great question. So mica is an ingredient in is it’s gonna have a little bit of glimmer or shimmer to it. You’ll notice it more in some shades than others. It can have a slightly reflective quality to it, I admit, but it is not disco or anything like that.

I'm olive and orange/warm isn't my undertone. I'm neutral, with a green-grey undertone! 😎✌🏼
They do have olive tones in this collection! There should be something for you but with olive it’s such a tough match it might just have to be done in store

Hello Bella! I wouldn’t say it oxidizes and yet, as it sits, it kind of mellows is the only way I can describe it. If you notice, in the video, when I apply it, it’s almost too yellow and then it sits for a moment and it’s absolutely fine. So you would think oxidation would make it get darker but it more than that kind of just settles in a good way

Lauren! I don’t think it’ll go orange in a two. It started going orange on me as I moved up to the eight. The five N didn’t quite work but it wasn’t as orange. So I think it’s gonna be fine. At least I hope!

Same I was in between two shades bc I have an olive 🫒 undertone so I went with the first one I had in mind and I also used on the Makeup by Mario that virtual try on. Both looked great so I just bought it off Sephora and if it’s not my shade I’ll exchange it.
I will be super interested to hear if the shade works out off of the virtual try on. I think that could be helpful for so many people if it works.
