Excellent excellent review, love the way you did this from beginning to end. Love that you wore it for a week before sharing your thoughts, and that you showed us the wear test throughout the day nice and close, good lighting,…and love the comparisons to other foundations at the end. Probably one of the best foundation reviews I’ve watched. Thank you so much!
What an in-depth review! Love the fact that you wore it for a week before the review. That’s what we need, we need to know whether a foundation is good for real but not just first impression. First impression can change anytime after a day😅 I was very intrigued by this foundation, but I didn’t dare to purchase it before seeing your review 😅 Now, you’ve helped me making my mind, I think I’ll just stick to my HAUS Lab 😊 Thank you, this is a fantastic review and extremely helpful.
I'm so glad it was helpful! I told myself I won't do any first impressions for foundation or concealer. I feel like it's not fair to the brand or the person who is stopping by to see my one review
I have combo/oily skin and I love how this wears on me (shout out from a fellow New Englander). I also wear the shade 2N. I prep my skin with the Elf Putty pore-filling primer around my nose and cheeks, and then my Skindinavia oil control primer spray. One pump with a makeup sponge is all I need to cover my whole face and blend down my neck. This wears really nicely throughout my work day in a non-air conditioned building. I'm impressed with how it does on my nose, which is also my problem area. So for my fellow combo/oily folks, try it out with the right skin prep, because it looks beautiful on us!
I’ve had this about a week and I actually LOVE it! We’ve had crazy weather here, from 34° to 83° within a few days and it held up in all temps! When the humidity hit I used a blurring primer and that helped it stick! I use a brush to apply and then go over it with a sponge lightly. I set it with a light powder and it literally lasts 6 plus hours. I am so surprised by this foundation. It has eclipsed my No1 Chanel, Nars Light Reflecting and Haus Labs. I got 5N and do not see any shimmer or visible mica when on my skin. I keep waiting for it to do something that I don’t like and so far, nothing. Maybe I’m not the norm compared to others who’ve tried it. I agree lighter layers work best after skin care sets in. I’m 49 and it doesn’t bunch up, doesn’t highlight texture or fine lines on me.
Thanks for the review Sofia! I’ve been binge watching review videos on this foundation because every single person has a different opinion about it. I love the chantecaille foundation so I’ll just stick with it!
I love this foundation. It is dewy but not too dewy which mimics a more natural skin look. Also I am biracial and have mature skin and I use Chantecaille Future Skin, Tom Ford and Chanel Sublimage and this color, look and feel works perfectly for me. I think as we age less is more in general and is just more appealing and this fits the bill for an every day look.
I love love love this foundation!!! I’m a 54 year old grandmother with extremely dry skin and it’s working for me beautifully. I do have to give it a little attention after 6 to 8 hours but I live on the Mississippi gulf coast and we deal with high humidity year around.
I had the same experience as you! I ended up returning it because it came off my nose so fast which drives me crazy because my nose is naturally red so it sticks out lol I will stick with my Haus labs that lasts all day!
This is the first of your videos I've seen, and while we do not share skin types, skin tones, ages or climates....I will for sure keep watching as your personality and your review was great!
I received a sample of Mario foundation and i love it! I am thrilled it has no alcohol or hyaluronic acid!! The Haus labs does contain those two ingredients and they ultimately really dry out my dry skin, but the Mario foundation is perfect for me! Thank you for your in depth review! ❤️
I loved your review! It’s so thorough. I will say I loved this in the video I did but the more I wear it…I don’t. It makes me feel dry and at a point in the day greasy. And I’m very dry. It also makes me splotchy and my skin isn’t loving it at all. I’ve wore it a few days and I don’t get any compliments on my skin either. Which usually I do with most foundations. I’m glad I just got samples. I’m not a fan unfortunately. I love hearing others thoughts on it though. So glad it worked for you, in ways😘💕love you my sweet friend🤗
Phew I am glad you got the samples! That is probs what I will do next time also. I like it as an everyday foundation but not going to wear it for long days on the weekends
I used to buy so many foundations, since the pandemic I realized that concealer was a better choice for me because I wear a mask at work all day, most of my face is covered and it was all rubbing off and feeling sticky/greasy. Also because I am so fair I get a better match with concealers since they run lighter. I prefer higher coverage and concealers give me that instead, smaller packages and less money in the long run because I actually go through bottles. My go-to concealer is the rare beauty. The last foundation release that I got was the nars light reflecting, since then I've gone off foundation. I still appreciate the review of course!
Nice! I haven't tried the rare beauty one yet. My family members work in medicine and have the same situation. My sister just does her eyes and skips the foundation
I tried this foundation for the first time and I am a 230 and I love it and I didn't see the mica that people are talking about. So far I like it and I decluttered my Pat Mcgrath foundation because I like the feel of this foundation better. Also I really didn't care for her foundation because it's a soft matte. Great video btw.
So far it sounds good. I don't have oily, dry, or combo skin. It's pretty normal. Plus I live in Florida. Nothing really textured either. So far my love is Bobbi Brown Long wear
Hi Sofia! All the best for 2023. Thank you for reviewing this new foundation. Thanks as well for the recommendation to try a sample prior to purchasing it. I found it quite interesting that you recommend the Chantecaille Future skin foundation for dry skin because it’s oil-free (and also contains mica). Please let us know, with an update video, if your ranking of this foundation moves up or down.
I have oily, textured aging skin with rosacea and this was a really fussy foundation for me. I got shade 12 Olive, which is a tad too light. I have to really prep my skin beforehand with Tatcha silk canvas primer plus Sisley blurring powder, for it to work really well. Otherwise, it slides off my face, and looks terrible like an orange peel emphasizing my texture and rosacea bumps. It really is pretty when I get it to work, but it's a lot of effort for me compared to other holy grail foundations. Unfortunately, I tried sheering it out, and it looked bad with my texture. 😞 I think its a foundation people should try to see if it works for them! Great review Sofia!
Hi lovely, happy that you did this review thank you so much for the comparisons it’s wonderful to hear your thoughts. Regarding to mica the shade and illuminate from tomford was my least happy purchased from 2022 because how glittery looks on my skin tone looks worse when I set it . But Giorgio Armani nera nude tinted moisturiser had mica and was fine . So far the reviews I seen in woman with my skin tone and deeper, the shimmer is not noticeable at all. Happy new year dear 🎉
Hi ❤ could you tell me any other foundations that don't contain sodium hyaluronate- hyaluronate acid? That ingredient is drying my skin terribly. Love your videos ❤
I got a sample and thought it was just ok. I have normal to dry and live in a dry climate and I found it to be just ok. I didn’t really break down but it just wasn’t very perfecting after a few hours of wear. I tried a sample of the Haus Labs and it looked much better later on in the day, even if it was less luminous.
Great review ! Very informative 😊 Since I try to limit my purchases it’s a pass for me.. I just perched the Sisley cushion foundation that I wanted to try ( so no need for another foundation.. )
I have normal to oily over 60 skin and this foundation did absolutely nothing for me. I did have trouble finding - shade and honestly I don’t think the one I ended up with was good. All seemed too neutral for me. I still l prefer the Haus Labs for my skin. Great review. Xoxo 😘
Great review on this foundation. Idk, for myself, as I have dry skin, and the Haus Labs, and NARS Reflecting, went on nicely, but then I felt dry an hr or so in. Same with Pat McGrath. The only foundation that doesn’t dry my out, so far is Chanel Sublimage (liquid) and Sephora Best Skin Ever foundation. 2 very different price points! Even the Armani Luminous is just so so on me. Sometimes it’s great, sometimes it drys me out. The CT Beautiful skin was really awful on me. Yep, must have been the hyaluronic acid in it. The Chantecaille future skin says oil free. I don’t think that will work either for me. I will try a sample of this anyway, next time I go to Sephora. Good thing we live in S. Fla now, 😊. Living up north would kill my skin now.
So, I don't own or use any foundations. I just use a tinted SPF, but some days it would be nice to have a little more coverage. I might try to get a sample of Haus labs or the Nars light reflecting foundation. I appreciate your in depth reviews. I was curious about this one.💜
@@SofiaSeesBeauty I wouldn't mix the two products together. I have melasma so I don't want the protection from my SPF to be compromised, but If I can find a natural looking formula in a good shade match, I am hoping I can apply and blend just in certain areas (my redness prone cheeks) and hopefully it won't look funny 🤷🏼♀️. That's the theory anyway😊. Hope your Thursdays going great!!
I have tried the Mario and Haus. I love the Mario color match, but it transfers too much and I just wasn't impressed...I think its OK. Unfortunately I didn't find a match for the Haus...I went to sephora several times and kept trying shades, but none were great. I did try the samples and liked it a bit more than the aforementioned, but did not last long. I do have oily combo skin that gets a bit drier on the perimeters of my during the winter I'm 49
