I recently found your channel and have absolutely been binging your videos -- yours are some of the best out there, and I have learned so much based on how you talk about different techniques to apply makeup. The majority of beauty channels I find are from younger influencers who only do makeup on their own face, and it's tough to get a good, objective review from someone who only puts product on themselves. I love your content because you clearly work with a variety of different ages & skin types, and your reviews and feedback hold a much higher place in my mind because you use these products on people other than yourself. I also got the shade 12 O and it really is the perfect olive shade.. I am combination skin, but I lean more dry in winter and I love how this looks and feels on my skin. Excited to keep using it ♥️
I am a 51 year old, with combination skin and sometimes acne prone. The shade 8 N was perfect but I didn’t like the feel of it. I really wanted to like it! Love Mario! I love lighter feeling tinted moisturizers and foundations! Thank you for the review 😊
I ❤ how you show us your skin prep!
I’ve always noticed when I’m trying new foundation if I use SPF I end up having issues! So I tend to stay away from spf on those days until I find a good match. I’ve also been trying the foundation and noticed my regular moisturizer does a good enough job to keep it on all day the day I used a pore filling primer it didn’t wear as good. Your shade 12 Olive, I'm so glad I got my perfect shade 9W! I got mine at Kohl's when they were setting up the display lol! I'm 61 combo dryish and this is so beautiful on the skin, love this! It's running neck n neck with my Haus Labs foundation!
I LOVE this foundation! I have very dry skin, and am in the process of clearing up my acne with help from my dermatologist. This foundation sits BEAUTIFULLY on my skin all day long. It covers all my blemishes without looking cakey whatsoever. It's so lightweight that I truly don't feel like I'm wearing foundation. I do add the tiniest bit of the hourglass powder all over afterwards to avoid the "tackiness" but it doesn't bother me at all! This is 100% my every day foundation from now on.
Have you noticed it breaking you out? I’m scared to try bc of the coconut oil in there.
Does it cling to any dry patches?
What primer do you use with it?

Hi Nikki! Thankyou for the detailed review. For me I really don't mind the tacky feeling especially during the winter months as my skin gets dehydrated with the cold and indoor heating. I think I will give this a go and then put it away during the warmer weather here in Boston. Happy New Year!
This is my new fav foundation. I have every foundation. I love love love this. It’s dewy. It’s skin like. It stays. It’s perfection
I have oily combo skin and always set everywhere with a little bit of powder and loved the way this foundation looked on my skin ! Even through 9-10 hour work days I thought it was beautiful

Awesome review. I have the shade 7C ,I'd say it's more neutral than cool. I really like it. I have normal to combo skin and it works great on me. It does last a bit longer with a primer but looked just as nice without a primer bit I used a primer for NYE and so it lasted a bit longer. It works really well on my over 50 skin. I also set my entire face as per usual. I use a RCMA loose powder with a brush and press into my skin with a puff as well. My skin looked smooth and perfect.

It looks pretty on you! Unfortunately, it did not work for me as it accentuated my mature skin texture. I think it works best for people that don't have too many issues. Happy New Year Nikki girl!

Hi Nikki, what would you suggest I try if my skin tends to soak up my foundation especially on my cheeks? By the end of the day it looks like I don’t have any makeup on. I cannot find a foundation that works for me. I have combination skin. Please help. Thank you
Hi Oily skin gal here, this foundation works for me. I used the Missha Soft finish SPF then waited 20 mins to let that set. Then for primer I used the Huda beauty blur jam, applied foundation. Then set my T-zone with MUFE ultra hd matte powder. Lasted 10 hours! Also I would agree less is more with this foundation.
Perfect !! That sounds like a great combo for oily skin!! That MUFE powder is the best for oil control!!!
Would you consider testing the fairly new Maybelline Superstay 24’hour skin tint? I’ve heard some say it’s similar to the Makeup by Mario foundation which I haven’t tried. I personally love the Maybelline 🙂

I do not like wearing foundation but was heavily influenced😅 and something about the description told me it would work for my skin type. I’m dry and have some texture. I prep with a heavy moisturizer and milk hydrogrip and it leaves me with such a smooth perfectly soft base. I’m obsessed. This is the only foundation I’ve kept aside from the Armani luminous silk.

Is it oil based? Will it not work well with water based concealers?

There are no shimmery particles in the foundation. The bottle itself is shimmery so people think the shimmer is inside.
Hi would you say the 12 o is comparable more to the Haus labs 260 or 230?
I always find it funny what is recommended for oily skin vs dry skin. I have oily skin and matte, full coverage foundation looks TERRIBLE on me. It always accentuates my pores and oil breakthrough in the grossest way. The dewier the better for me as it seems to mix with my natural oils and become one with my skin. Does it last very long? No of course not, but I'd rather touch up a flexible dewy base than a crusty, chunky, broken up one. But maybe that's just me!
Hi Nikki, was wondering. .. I got the same color 12-0 and it is a olive undertone. this is the match they gave me for Armani luminous in 5.5 w peach undertone. Are they close in color? I mean its okay on me. But can you tell me how those two are "close" kinda confused. Thanks soo much. Love you ❤️🙏💋💄
Hmmm that’s an interesting one I wouldn’t say this is a close match to the 5.5 at all to be honest. I know that shade in particular like the back of my hand because I use it so regularly in my kit! This is much closer to armani 6. Same exact undertone. Hope this helps!

That’s what I’ve heard too- and I’ve heard Rose @roseandben say that the cool undertone shades aren’t cool at all.. that all the shades run very warm! I’m neutral/cool depending on which foundation it is so I’m also gonna have to go in store to try a few shades before I buy it!! I was gonna purchase it online until I heard that. 🤷🏼♀️

Was really saddened to see Mario add shimmer/glitter to this formula, it really does enhance texture and isn’t the best for male clients. #hardpass. 😢

I did not like this at all. I have dry skin and it looked incredibly dry on me. I also could not get over the shimmer. And if you try to powder down the shimmer you get drier. Not a fan!!
Sammmmmeee!!! It was a no from me as well- (dry skin 50+. ). I should probably not have even tried bc my skin hates anything with coconut and I believe this is one of the top ingredients- I tried so many this year and nothing has touched Nars light reflecting or the Chanel for me. I actually like my wet n wild dewy finish more than the Mario ❤️. Glad to hear it’s working so well for others. Ps- I have never liked any of the IT cosmetics cc creams. I legit look like the crypt keeper with them!😂😂😂.
Why why why did they put glitter in the foundation?! There are so many products on the market that can give you that dewy glowy look but only in the right areas of your face. The shimmer is definitely noticeable when you wear this product. It applies well but the shimmer is a big no no- it’s like a kids makeup. I returned this back to Sephora.

@@kristaaal1387 the shimmer particles are visible and when you apply the foundation the whole face sparkles. It’s really unflattering to have this effect. And I think it downgrades the quality of the product…I wouldn’t recommend this product.

@@kristaaal1387 this foundation reminds me of a MAC foundation from back in the day. I used to use MAC and they had a foundation with a lot of shimmer in it. I don’t know if they still have it as I don’t use MAC anymore. I was 18 at that time so I didn’t care. But now I think that is too much.

I saw Rose Siard @roseandben try this foundation out on her IG stories the other day and she said this foundation runs very warm, like all the shades are warm even one of the shades that she got which was supposed to have a cool undertone she said had a very warm/yellow undertone. She didn’t seem too thrilled about that and it kinda scares me bc my skin is neutral/cool.
I’m just hesitant to try it now and then have it be so drastically warm on me that it makes me not like it even if I love the formula! I’ll have to go into a Sephora and try a few shades in store to see if any of the shades will work on me. It looks beautiful on you though!! I was so excited to see that you uploaded this today 😊🫶🏻
