This is my fave foundation ever, I truly don't think people know how to use it. It reminds me of a softer version of charlotte tilbury flawless filter but with coverage. For context, I have dry skin, like my skin will flake off my nose, and chin, but will also be oily and red around my nose. You gotta use a little amount of it, Mario says you can layer it but I think it truly looks the best in a thin layer, I also use a damp beauty blender and it looks perfect, my skin looks moisturized and glowy, without flaking or anything. I think using this for medium to full coverage is why it doesn't work on many, like in my eyes I can't imagine using it for a full beat....He uses it for his clients who obviously have perfect skin, and they just need to be dewy and perfect for the red carpet, and if you watch him use it, he never uses too much. I try to copy his style of application and it works on me. Another foundation that works for my skin type (dry, flaky, irritated) is the mac radiance sheer face & body, it's truly perfect and doesn't have sparkles but is still dewy enough for a natural look.
Thank you …thank you for being so authentic. It’s refreshing to see what a real life face with pores and texture can look so beautiful. Love your lighting. Most influencers use so much faux lighting it camouflages how their skin really looks. Very deceiving. I so elated to have found you. Looking forward to see more of your videos ❤.
Hahaha omg you are SO welcome! I am so tired of the filters, and the lies myselfIt is a big part of why I am no longer friends with a lot of people in the beauty community...and why I have a hard time watching beauty content. I am, and always have been, HONEST. I don't want my viewers and besties to spend their money on crap....PERIOD.
I ended up returning this foundation after trying it for a couple weeks. I’m a little dry and it made my skin look horrible. It was such a bummer because I was very excited 😢
I think this is the direction I’m headed to be honest…I’ll be giving you guys an update tomorrow in the info box after trying it with my setting spray and powdering it down!
Great review Mallory!!! I am happy to see your channel is growing!!! I think there are many women out there who believe they have oily or normal skin but they really have dry skin and they are missing out on all your content! Keep up the excellent work! I'm so proud of you for accomplishing the many goals you've set for yourself over the years. The last few years haven't been the easiest on you, watching you be honest and vulnerable makes you relatable, neither are the social media norm. Thank you for being you! I can tell when you're struggling, but try to not let on ...we all do it, it's human nature! Hang in there and keep smiling!!!
I’m returning it tomorrow. I’ve never been so disappointed in a foundation before, I started laughing when I saw my face in the mirror halfway through my day. Not for meeeeee! But thankful that Sephora takes returns. Love seeing your face, my friend! Hugs to the crew! ❤
Omg that is terrible😂😂😂 I’m giving it one more go, and if I dont like it after prepping my skin differently…it’s got to go. My pores look like they have awoken from a 1,000 year slumber😩
@@ImMalloryBrooke Good Lord no we can’t have that! It’s weird, I’ve never seen a foundation get such wildly swinging reviews. People seem to either love it or hate it. I was SO EXCITED about it and holy crap. I should have taken a photo to show you what my nose and chin looked like. Terrifying. 😂

I’m so on the fence with this one. However I always agree with you bc same skin type! So when you decide I’ll decide😉 BTW after 178 tests I have my follow up appt w my Rheumatologist for a diagnosis this Thursday.
I’m going to try it one more time and update you guys! I want to give it the best try possible💪 Oh gosh girlie, I’m so sorry youve been going through this. Please keep me updated💕
I was hoping you would do a review on this foundation! I have very dry textured sensitive skin and a lot of the reviews I seen said it showed texture and dryness and I knew you would be the best bet for me to know if I should pick it up or not!
I have sensitive, normal to dry skin…that’s been more normal these days. I ended up really liking this foundation. I think it looks better throughout the day too. I do use it with the Tatcha primer which maybe helps though. I’m a prime stan. Lol. What impressed me the most was the undertones. Foundations tend to not be neutral enough for me, but I feel like this foundation is undetectable on me, and feels super comfortable on my skin.🎉
It does look drug store-y! Speaking of packaging, I will say I really love the packaging of the Wet and Wild Photofocus (I think it's that one...one with the spatula). So much easier for whatever application method you prefer (BB, brushes, fingers). Pumps tend to be the holy grail, esp for high-end, but I like being able to know much is left so I can plan my next foundation (rather than just realizing one day the pump is being stingy).
Thanks for the try on and review. I meant to get a sample of this on my way out of Sephora the other day. My two local Sephora's are back to giving out samples. Foundation brushes can be tricky. I've been using the Bare Minerals smoothing face brush since it's inception. lol I've tried so many. My beloved Cover Girl sponges are all gone. I used those since highschool then they changed their formula when beauty blender texture got popular. I like the old formula sponge. I have dry skin, too. It's always interesting when you try both. Thanks.
hi if you don't mind me asking, do you have skin texture? i'm on the hunt for good brushes that can get into my rolling scars, pores, and overall texture:)
@@duhneez2068 no, I don’t have texture. I just have really dry skin. I’m thinking maybe if you used a good primer it might fill in some of those bumpy areas. I’m always on the hunt for a good primer and I test out many. I don’t like a super dense brush and I also don’t like a soft brush. That’s why I like the bareMinerals brush. I popped into Ulta other day and it looked like the brushhead had changed so I’ll have to do some research. Good luck on your hunt. I know it can be tricky.

I wanted this foundation to work for me but unfortunately it didn’t. I also have dry skin and by the end of the day it broke up so bad and made my skin look incredibly dry and around my mouth was actually peeling off 😞. I tried it twice with different moisturizers but I got the same result. Sucks because everything else for complexion he’s come out with have been excellent and I loveeee them!
I’m gonna try this today without a primer. I think the primer has been blocking the foundation from sinking in my skin and not showing the luminosity Of the foundation.

DONT AGREE wit the primer thing lol ima makeup artist have been for 10 + years and NO matter what foundation i have or put on my clients ive 90% of the time used a primer bc it helps with ALOT not just with making the foundation STAY on esp if u have oily skin which i do or dry skin, BUT u should ALWAYS prep and PRIME ur skin before makeup!! ALWAYS!! PLUS texture and all the other stuff primer helps with!!! NOT only that but the ONLY time i dont use a primer is if i want a more glowy look, BUT in that case ill use the BOBBI BROWN vitamin enriched face base, along with FAB ultra repair cream or some other type of hydrating moisterizer. BUT EVEN THEN i HAVE to use a blurring primer for my pores!!!! SOOO IDK everyone has their own opinions SOOO YEAH !!
Thanks for that info. I find primer is so daunting for me BC I never know if it will be compatible with my foundation (I finally found a holy grail)..considering water and silicone based issues. I also find primer dries me out and makes my minor eczema patches stand out worse. I always moisturise my skin 30mins before makeup application so I will look into the two skin products you mentioned and see if those work. Cheers!
Oh I absolutely “spot treat” with primers on my clients, but prefer to rely mostly on skincare to prep the skin because the foundations I use are catered to skin type. It also depends on the weather and the event I’m working 🤘 Love how we all find ways that work best for us and our clients.
