My husband has the most obvious lying signs of anyone I’ve ever known. His voice gets high pitched and he gets angry…most likely because he knows he’s not good at lying and I’ve caught him in the act.

Another sign that someone is lying is when they're asked a straight question, but they don't answer straightly. Usually, they begin talking about something else expecting you to believe them, or to lose interest in what you wish to know.

A lot of these are signs of anxiety which doesn't mean someone is lying. It's a bit unfair to assume that anxiety necessarily equates to lying.

The idea is you talk to them a little bit first and look for changes in body language, if someone is already seeming anxious when you are talking to then about unimportant things, then when you ask them something important they are still equally anxious, it is likely they are telling the truth

To be honest my friend, you shall trust someone in some part of your life. If you go buy your groceries at the supermarket; you have to trust the cashier had scanned the right prices on each item as well as to trust that he got the right amount of money while he swept your credit card. At the same time, you gotta trust each driver is following the traffic rules while you drive back home as well as you need to trust the police doing their job while leaving your car parked in some spot. In addition, if you go have a meal at some restaurant; you have to trust the server has got your order correctly as well as to trust the cook had prepared your meal deliciously. The same principle applies in business matters; we shall trust our partners are willing to fulfill their part of the contract.
We, human beings are interdependent; we need each other to survive and to get prospered. If it would be just like you describe; we would be big fishes swimming in our little pond. In other words, we shall never reach any success.

This use to be the case but now people are becoming smarter at lying to the point you can't even know kinda of like sociopaths. With sociopath it's hard to tell if they are manipulating you so Mr. Brainy your video is the old ways of how to tell when someone is lying to you. You might be able to see those signs in children or young teens but as they get older they become more aware of how to lie to people to get what they want.

I used to get calls and they would hang up when I answered. (old land line) When my wife at the time answered, she would say hello, hello, who is this? Then hang up. But her reaction seemed like acting and the fact she couldn't look me in the eye gave her away. She always did the bills so one day after she threw the phone bill in the trash, I took it out and saw she had called her X. Later, I asked her why she was talking to her X and she yelled that she didn't talk to her X. I showed her the phone bill and she still claimed she didn't talk to him. She said she talked to his mother, that he wasn't there, and was only charged for 1 minute. I then told her she called talk to him, and not his mother. No explanation as to why, just turned and walked out of the room. Later I found them in bed with each other so that was enough for me. I divorced her and moved to Texas to start living again. Chalked it up to experience.

I want to get y'all's opinion about something. I think a manager at my job lied to me about not trying to scold me. The context is a long story, so I'm gonna start with this first. Okay. I made some mistakes, and she and my boss had me in the office, and the first manager lectured me. There was no dignity, respect, or patience; she made me feel like an idiot. She even said to my boss, "Is there anything you want to add." And then the next day, she said "How are you?" Patronizing, I know. Well, I gave her an apology letter for my mistakes, revealing I had ASD and wanted to "redeem" myself, and looking back, I realize that was unnecessary and self-degrading.
We talked, and I think she sugarcoated her side. She said she wasn't trying "to give it to you" while wagging her finger and expressing an angry face. I don't know. The evidence in the office contradicts her claim. She also said she was just trying to help me be successful. Oh, so in other words, I'm a failure without her help? She claimed she was trying to make sure I understood...what was right? I can't finish her sentence, because I'm already forgetting her words. All I know is it included helping me understand. She sounded patient and understanding about my challenge in life, but where was this in the office? You can't just talk to someone firmly and without dignity and then act wary the next day. Now, despite not writing the context of my mistakes and the lecture, do you guys see lies and patronization on her side? I'll explain my secret side later, but let me say first, I own my mistakes. I don't want anyone thinking I'm making her the one and only bad guy.

My husband is great at deflection. Changing the subject, pointing a finger at someone else, etc. Anything that will buy him time or throw me off track from the questions I’m presently asking. Then there’s anger, defensiveness and stonewalling. Not speaking to me for days until he can construct an answer he thinks I’ll accept. Or he’ll say something to piss me off or hurt my feelings so that I’ll not speak to him for days, again buying him time to come up with an answer. But when he does, then he gets to be magnanimous by apologizing for his behavior first, then coat his lie with good intentions of wanting to “own” his bad behavior! He also does all of the 12 mentioned here.

Tina Gould: It can mean that they’re uncomfortable with the conversation that could expose their lie(s) and they’re looking for a way to escape! @@tinagould4942 You’re welcome. Glad I could help. The examples I gave were in reference to identifying lying.
However, if you are a visual learner, like me, my eyes will look up as if I’m reading when I’m trying to recall something I’ve read, seen or thought. If I’m looking inside to recall a feeling, my eyes look downward and search inwardly. But that introspection is usually much slower. So, eyes can go back and forth for different scenarios. But if it’s abnormally rapid (not their normal behavior) then it’s probably a discomfort and escape behavior.

People with bad teeth will cover their mouths when speaking at all. They aren’t lying!! Just ashamed.
Some people are so used to lying they will say anything at all and don’t care how you react of perceive them. I have known many many people, men and woman, who spout stuff and when later we try to hold them to what they said (how did the funeral go? Is your son’s cut arm OK?) they will look astonished and deny even telling you that stupid lie. “I said THAT???” They exclaim. “We talked last week???? I don’t remember (our two hour phone conversation). They even have the nerve to shake their heads, laugh and say they can’t believe they told me that, it was bull. These videos aren’t helpful at all. Most chronic liars are indifferent to how they wound.
