Is it possible to spread this without a polisher tool? Would one simply have to cope with their arm falling off at some point, or is the approach entirely useless if one doesn’t have a polisher?
Awesome!! I have a new mustang Mach e and it has these piano black areas. Piano black looks sweet but it scratches SO easy. Plus there is a key pad and the button to open the door behind the pillar. So it is a super high touch area! I literally went to the garage and followed your tutorial and it fixed all the swarls it's amazing! Thank you! Now I just have to wait for the fresh ceramic coating to cure. Also I'm using Avalon King ceramic coating that I picked up after watching your channel. It's awesome. Great video my bru. These piano gloss sections are always the roughest to look at because the owners see them every single time they get in the vehicle. I haven't tried the Rupes pads. Will have to give it a go. Epic tips as always sir.
I found the perfect Chemical: Flitz Polish for metal, plastic and fiberglass, it is kind of expensive @ $13.50 for 7 Oz, but the liquid form only takes 1-2 drops per pillar. It is a polish and claims nonabrasive, but it must have some very, very fine abrasives in it. It made my pillars look like clear mirrors after just a very light circular application with microfiber towel and a quick buff before it dries with a second microfiber towel. They do make cream that will probably work on deeper scratches, but for everyday swirls marks it works great. did all the pillars and mirrors on a Lincoln SUV in 20 minutes start to finish with a spray wet ceramic protectant. Just have plenty of clean microfiber cloths and a spray bottle of water to wet before applying wet spray ceramic protectant. I used Turtle Hybrid as it is good on any non-porous surface. Remember this plastic is soft and, in most case, has little to none clear coat, the less pressure the better the results, no real pressure while rubbing needed.

Very useful video as always, Pan. These piano black panels are on so many cars, and most look awful after just a couple of years. Even with the safest of washing/drying methods, they still get beat up over time. My Challenger's trunk panel has this, and need to be sooo careful with it. I'll hit it with Novus #1 on occasion to give it a fighting chance.

I have a new Denali Ultimate with the Vador Chrome and its got some scratches of the chrome grill (but its really a plastic chrome). Would you suggest this method on that material as well? Thanks and great channel by the way! Lots of really good info!
Great video Pan! Just one quick follow up. I have a BMW x5 with m sport pro pack and the black window gloss is gone grayish (looks to be discoloured from UV). I was considering getting those parts wrapped for permanent black gloss but would this method also restore the colour as well as remove scratches? Big hello from Ireland 🇮🇪
Great information & video. Liking that flex polisher, You can tell by the motor there's very little if any bog on that. "German quality" ✅ Merry Christmas and have a good New Year pan! 🎄👍🇨🇦
Great demo, is there any point in using a more aggressive pad and/or polish? Or would this just be overkill on the black plastics like this? Tried with an all in one combo polish/compound product and still had some swirls left at the end.. take it I just need to step it down to a lighter pad and finishing polish? Thanks.
It always depends on your level of defects removal desires, and condition of the trim... Always use the less aggressive method to achieve the desired results, all while keeping in mind you don't want to overpolish and run the risk of removing all the clear coat. Clear coat preservation is important, as you want it to last for years. We don't usually aim 100% paint correction or perfection on daily driven vehicles. You'd be removing too much material. 85-90% is the sweet spot. If you can't see the scratches from a few feet away, it's more than enough. Nobody in the real world goes up to a vehicle with a bright inspection light and fine tooth comb. Question of common sense.
Thank you for the tutorial.👍🏻 id love to see a trim coating video. I always have a hard time with getting dressings on paint. I’m not sure of the order of application. Paint then trims or vise-versa. Thanks again.
You can coat the trim at the same time as you’re coating the paint, assuming the specific coating you are using goes on paint and trim. You can do all the paintwork, and then go around the car and do all the plastic trim.

Yes you can polish the gloss black trim on the interior, same methods and products. You can even hand polish if you want. There not much protection that will prevent scratching unfortunately. You have to be careful with that gloss black trim. I like adding Bead Maker to gloss black trim, as it makes it slick to the touch, and easier to clean with less potential marring on the surface if you use a plush microfiber towel. Here's a link to Bead Maker: amzn.to/3AOISZg You can see me use it on one of my previous BMW M550i gloss black trim in this video: ruclips.net/video/TV1_qdOCy-w/видео.htmlsi=STWvukubCesqozUg

Annnnnd I’m a subscriber. Great work! I’ve always wondered how to approach these scratches.

How did you discover my channel by the way?
I have a few vehicles with the gloss black pillars and my most recent addition has some noticeable swirls and scratches. I was searching “how to remove scratches from gloss black plastic” and I ended up here. Keep up the good work! You explaining exactly what you use and showing the products- it helps me wade through all the detailing offerings and take the best approach to get it done👍🏻👍🏻 thank you for sharing the knowledge
Thank You for a thorough demo of this process! It's the same way that I do it!
Merry Christmas, Pan 🎄😃
Same to you!
Pan coming in clutch again! Happy Holidays good sir.
Happy holidays!
Thanks for the feedback Ken!
TOP MARKS PAN 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
Thanks Harlem! Hope you had a merry Christmas!
@@PanTheOrganizer THANX PAN. I HOPE THAT YOU HAD A SAFE, HEALTHY & HAPPY HOLIDAY WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TOO BROTHER 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you Pan, definitely one of my to do jobs in spring.
There you go! :)
These quick how to videos are excellent. Maybe a quick on on engine cleaning...lots to think about! Thanks and Merry Christmas!

hi pan, wishing you and your family a merry Christmas and a happy new year, and hope to see and meet you at some point in the UK 👍
Thanks Steve! Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones as well!
I have a new Denali Ultimate with the Vador Chrome and its got some scratches of the chrome grill (but its really a plastic chrome). Would you suggest this method on that material as well? Thanks and great channel by the way! Lots of really good info!
Thanks for the video pan sonex products are really good I use them all the time
Thanks for watching Dave!
Pan your the man
Love all your video very helpful tip and advice 👍
Thanks Masum!
Great information & video. Liking that flex polisher, You can tell by the motor there's very little if any bog on that. "German quality" ✅ Merry Christmas and have a good New Year pan! 🎄👍🇨🇦
All my Flex polishers are beasts for sure! Built like tanks.
I want to love to Canada so Pan and take care of my cars.
:)
Pan, can I do this by hand? I was looking to use McGuire's ultimate polish, so you think that will work by hand?
You can try but you’ll need a lot of elbow grease to polish by hand. Never as effective as with a machine polisher.
Merry Christmas 🎄 Pan, another awesome video 🤩😎
Thanks Raymond! Merry Christmas!
Really good job done! Thanks for sharing! By the way; you're VERY handsome, and you look SO good in all black! 🙂
Thanks. How did you discover my channel by the way?

@@PanTheOrganizer It was by chance; I do a bit of surfing on RUclips just before I go to bed - love informative videos like this one. It was really interesting to watch. I’m not surprised you have such a huge fan-base! 🙂
Mr. Organizer, does the same procedure apply to plastic chrome?
Another great video pan! Is their anyway you could make a video on the best steamers for car detailers & another on how to clean and protect hard & soft truck bed covers for us guys with trucks.
Thanks Quentin!
Is it possible to polish the piano black trim on the interiors? Also Pan, if there is a way to get rid of those scratches on the piano black, what is the best protectant for that plastic? Thanks for great videos as always.
Here's a link to Bead Maker: amzn.to/3AOISZg
You can see me use it on one of my previous BMW M550i gloss black trim in this video: ruclips.net/video/TV1_qdOCy-w/видео.htmlsi=STWvukubCesqozUg
Oh yes, long time fan/watcher, ai have the bead maker! Thanks so much Pan
Great Video Pan!!💪👍
Thanks Pat!
Superb tutorial. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Pan
Good tip
Is it good to use polish on the gloss black trims around a cars windows to remove what appears to be a type of water staining effect. Mine appear to be a similar material to the point black pillars

Merci Alex! Comment as-tu découvert ma chaîne?
Very nice. I learn so much from your channel!
Thanks! I appreciate it. What’s your favourite video on my channel so far?
@@PanTheOrganizer So far your detailing 101 paint polishing because that is the part I’m very nervous to begin working on.
Pan, do u have tips on winter car washing? For us in Toronto winter, we shut off the water hose outside to prevent the water pipe cracking.
So no water to use outdoor. And u had advise not to go automatic car wash, then what option do we have?
Great job. How would you go about doing a matte black pillers.
Thank you
You never polish matte black surfaces. That would make them glossy.
Pan! Not related to this video but, Do you recommend getting ceramic coating for the newly leased black car?? I got my first ever new car and I want to keep this clean and shine look while I’m riding it. I got a quote from local guy at 600, but I couldn’t decide if it is worth. Should spray coating type products and hand wash be enough for leased car?
Good one. Merry Christmas!
Thanks Kim! Happy holidays!
Hello Pan! I'm back my friend...Been down for a spell, But doing much better...Love the video, I do this by hand & I get almost the results you did with the polisher...Your videos are so informative!👍🏾🚘🚗 Unfortunately, I may be getting out of the detail business after 27 years...I have a really bad back & my knees are going as well...My L4 L5 is shot, So now there's searing pain everytime I try to climb a ladder... I really don't want to get out of this, because I've been detailing since I was 16 years old... the D.r. wants me to stop, But it's my way of living...But I have to do what he says my friend...I love all your videos man! Take care, God bless! OH YEAH, OF COURSE I'LL REMAIN A #PANFAN!👍🏾💯💯🚘🚗
Good luck!

Another valuable video, thank you. Please let us know which black nitrile gloves you’re using, a link for the US would be appreciated.
Nitrile gloves are super hard to source (like many items during covid) but the ones I usually want are these ones: amzn.to/32rfkzM
will this technique work with refrigerator plastic liners?
Great video. I see white lines on the piano glossy pillar, is it really deep and is it possible to repair with this method?
Hard to say without seeing the issue in person. Perhaps the scratches are too deep and you reached the primer. If that's the case, there's nothing that can be done other than have the pillars repainted.
I have plastic roof panels on a Mercedes panoramic roof. They used to match the glass. They are fading. Looks a little grayish. Will this work for that? Suggestions?
Awesome video as always! Any suggestions on how to detail your black window trim on the bottom of the window which tends to look bad and spotty after a few years? Could be because of degreaser when I've been lazy and took the car to the automated carwasher :) any way to solve or need to get new ones?
Any tire shine or trim restorer will make it brand new
Always great information. thank you!
Thanks for watching!
Can I use a regular sized Torq dual action polisher I got from Chem guys if I can find a 3 inch pad for it. Thanks for your help. Great channel.
I knew if I needed to know how to repair the piano black trunk panel on the wife's Mustang GT, Pan would be the man. One question sir. Would a product like Meguiars Ultimate Polish work? I've got shelves full of car care products, and if I can use that it'll save a little money. Thanks for all your great tips sir.
Yeah pretty much any light polish should do on piano black plastics.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks Pan.
Pan, was that polisher a dual action or constant rotation?
It can do both by using different supplied adaptors. Random orbit (DA) and rotary. Just like the Rupes iBrid Nano polisher can do.
Great result!
Thanks!
Awsome love your work from 🇦🇺
Thanks Arthur! Cheers from Canada mate!
Great tips as always extremely helpful. Do you have any videos for cleaning /protecting vinyl tonneau covers ?from all videos I’ve watched of yours haven’t seen any trucks. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
I don't have a video on that, but it's quite a simple process if you have the proper products and tools. Here's what I recommend:
