I’m curious, what are your thoughts on creating a 9.1.6 internal bussing for pro tools, then outputting to a 7.1 bed with the Front Walls and Tops being bussing to static panned objects? Workflow-wise, there’s less fiddling with dragging to object tracks or opening sends to object busses and instead you just pan freely. Sonically, I can’t the different between a bed that is 7.1.2 and an object bed that’s 7.1.2, so it almost negates to use for objects. Have you tried this?
That's basically what I've been doing. I have a 9.1.6 mix "bed/bus" that feeds the bed for the 7.1 and then feeds objects for the height channels. Then I use objects for anything that moves or when I want to place it in a non-speaker location.
Great as always, dave! thx!
