    Love the shell tuck for the quilting idea, I have a quilt to bind and now many thoughts on how to make it look different, let’s hope it doesn’t take me too long to decide! Thank you such lovely ideas every month.

    Thank you once again for a brilliant demo. Loving the shell tuck ideas it's got me thinking to make a blouse with a peter pan collar! Haven't made one of those since my daughter was little,so here goes!

    😅Hi Julia: Love your videos. You are so concise and explain every step so clear, so easy to understand.
    Wonder if you can tell me how to adjust tension on my Janome 15000. Whenever I use a double needle on a stretch fabric, like to do a hem, I get a tunneling effect.
    How can I change it so tunneling effect won't happen?

      Hiya thank you 😊
      If you bring up the stitch setting screen(tap the grey bar above the stitch width it's the 5th one down ..usually on 3.4) take the tension down to stop the tunneling xx

    Hello, just bought my first Janome a 780 DC SS I’m in love with it. I’m still quite new to sewing. I have a question. Could I do this shell tuck on a sleeve and bottom hem of a top? I know you said it’s mainly used on the bias.

      Hiya some lightweight fabrics will work just test out first on a scrap piece. There are lots of nice ways to hem and you have a few stitches on the 780 so maybe take a look at this video too (I'm making hair accessories but same principles apply for hems and sleeves!)

    How about a surge hem on fine fabric without a fold?

    • @janomestitchclubuk
      @janomestitchclubuk  8 месяцев назад

      Yes I would use my overlocker (surger) to finish the raw edge before doing the blind hem finish or just a single turn under if just using a sewing machine. Xx

    I need help deciding what machine to buy for a beginner who wants to learn to make clothes, curtains and hopefully do free hand embroidery too. I heard Janome is the most reliable. I just don’t know what model to get. I’ve searched and compared but it’s baffling! I thought John Lewis would be a good option but do they call the machines different names?!?!
    I can’t spend more than £400 can anyone advise please? 🙏 Thank you 🙏

      Hiya take a look at the Sewist 725s it's a mechanical so no speed control but the body is good and heavy so great for curtains and also free motion. If there is somewhere nearby you can get to to try a couple out that would be really useful. On the Janome UK website there is a guide to buying a sewing machine which tells you what all the different things actually mean (easier then to know if you need them or not!) I'll put the link here
