Cat Stevens/Yusuf Interview - 2000 - ABC - first American interview since leaving music

Found this on a tape in my recent gigantic VHS lot. This is a special report on Cat Stevens that also includes an interview.
This is Yusuf's first American network interview since he left "Cat Stevens" behind and became Yusuf Islam. Elizabeth Vargas hosts. Yusuf discusses why he stopped playing, whether he will again, and the Salmon Rushdie fatwa controversy. This interview was done years before he returned to music, so it's a bit of a time capsule of his outlook, in that way.

Amazing!
This was at the same time as his episode of VH1's "Behind The Music" and his Best Of Cat Stevens album as well as several radio interviews, so this was the start of his public reemergence.
Although it would be a few years before he was fully back as it were, this is one of the first steps of Yusuf "reconciling" with Cat Stevens
