The Sako is a purpose built weapon from the ground up as a sniper rifle to enable conscript soldiers to well very quickly. It is not a sporterrised hunting rifle like your country’s M40 / M24 series rifles. Here in Scandinavia we also use the 6mm family of cartridges and the 338 Lapua Magnum for military use as it is superior against all other cartridges up until to 50BMG There is another rifle out there called the Accuracy International which is another purpose built system same as the Sako. I believe the AI and Sako competed in you Army’s next gen sniper rifle comp but lost out to the outdated Remington 700. This is as you may know is Remington reminding your country’s military contractual obligations not because then M700 is superior, although once upon a time it was.
I wonder how much actual firearms you see if the most traditional 2 way safety is something you havent come across yet. Forward is fire, rearward is safe which locks the bolt and blocks the trigger. Reason being that when you carry the rifle on safe on your back, the bolt wont snag on something and open causing you to lose a cartridge. A growing trend is having a 3 way safety or a button with a 2 way safety system which pressed overrides the bolt lock so you can remove or chamber a cartridge with the trigger mechanism still blocked. Looks like the front end of your stock isnt bolted in correctly since it is warped from the front. Also, saying the trg trigger is "like a 2 stage trigger". Yes, in fact it IS a 2 stage trigger, not only being like one. And it is one of the best military/target 2 stage triggers in factory rifles period. What do you want to know? The TRG 22 and mostly 42 in 33lm is used by roughly 34 different militaries around the world including russian spec ops teams. You can get a folding stock for the original trg which honestly is a bit over priced for what it is. The trg is one of the most cost effective military sniper rifles out there (yes TRG stands for TARGET and it was originally made for target shooting competitions such as 300m UIT standard rifle), and very easy to shoot. Pretty much any one can shoot it sub 0.5moa at 100 meters with minimal practice. More mechanical details: The action is bolted on to a aluminum back bone, and the fore-end and rear stock bolt to the back bone, so basically torque settings on your "stock" doesnt affect rifle performance. Barrels are chromoly steel, bolt is 3 lug with 60 degree throw. And the new trg a1 versions have the same basic bolt, action and barrel than the older traditional stock trgs have, only difference being that it uses the same type of chassis system as the trg m10 does and has the same basic folding stock, and the trigger mechanism has been upgraded to deal with salt water better than the old design. My trg with 175 grain scenar-l and vihtavuori n150 powder in lapua brass easily prints 0.3moa 5 shot groups or less at 100 meters.
@@Dayattherange Haha! I was hoping you hadn't noticed. That's a sweet combo. My barrel seems to prefer Sierra to Lapua. Maybe something to do with the ogive.
Either the 155 Berger (was it a flat base?) Was a better bullet or it favored the slower 1-11 twist. I am surprised they did not go with the proven 1-10 rate? 1-11 definitely favors the slower twist. PS.... I was glad to see you did not call one of them:. "oh man, I pulled that one!". To make your video's believable, you have to be up front with you comments.
There's not space here to tell you what I know about the rifle. I have two right now (42/338 and a 22/.260). I've had 5 over the course of the last ten years two .338s, a .308, 6.5 and .260. I've taken the entire thing apart (including the trigger . . . I don't recommend it). What I will tell you is that it's not pronounced SAY-COE. It's "SAH-COE".
@@meidamx Oh man when my buddy bought this one they had twins this one and the 300winmag. I just didn't want another caliber to reload for so I did not get it.
YOU ARE PAYING IN EUROS, THAT'S WHY, IT'S A 1/2 MOA OR LESS ALL DAY. IT DEPENDS ON THE SHOOTER, PUT THAT THING INTO AN EXPERIENCE HANDS THEN YOU WILL SEE THAT THERE'S NOTHING MEDIOCRE ABOUT IT.
Haha! You know not what you say, sir. Put that rifle on a rail and it will throw lead through a single .308 diameter hole in the paper, all day long. The chap in the video seems like a nice bloke, but he isn't getting the best out of the TRG. Not even close.
I'm pretty sure it shoots better than shown in this video. I have a Tikka that shoots 0.4 MOA groups average at 100m, so a TRG can do better. I dont know any factory that shoots that well consistently from factory. With other brands maybe you can be lucky or not depending on the model but it's the lottery.

Mine chews out 175 SMKs, with 43gr RL15, very nicely, indeed.
Have you some how gone thru my reloading book LOL LOL - that is a very goo load there you have for sure use it all the time many rifles love it.
@@Dayattherange Haha! I was hoping you hadn't noticed. That's a sweet combo. My barrel seems to prefer Sierra to Lapua. Maybe something to do with the ogive.
@@afroliciouspresents3603 This one has only seen Hornady and Sierra so far -- Though The 155's were Berger's. This one just doesn't seem to care.
Gotta burn the cold bore shot with my lr308. 2" high Every Time. Then .750 groups @ 100yds. Ready to stretch it's legs..home loads of course
42 gr. Bench mark with 175gr. Sierra Match kings. .75 group is mostly vertical over
Lapping holes
WOW looks very heavy
Good man💪💪💪😊
Good shooting
That's a drummer's throne.
I like the Sako triace
Either the 155 Berger (was it a flat base?) Was a better bullet or it favored the slower 1-11 twist. I am surprised they did not go with the proven 1-10 rate? 1-11 definitely favors the slower twist.
PS.... I was glad to see you did not call one of them:. "oh man, I pulled that one!". To make your video's believable, you have to be up front with you comments.
The first thing I would tell you is the pronunciation. The A is short not long it's "socko".
One of my rifles...
I will never sell!!!
14 min...cone on now wheres that 20 min vid I need something in my ear at the reloading bench 🤠
There's something wrong with the front stock.
Its sako not saeko :)
That’s hot
/Paris
"Sako", not "Seikou" as you say. :) test the pronounciation with google translate, select Finnish language, write sako and press play.
Get some.
OOH-Rah
@@Dayattherange Looking to get a TRG in .300
@@meidamx Oh man when my buddy bought this one they had twins this one and the 300winmag. I just didn't want another caliber to reload for so I did not get it.
Pronounced SOCK-O
overpriced for mediocre accuracy ...... nothing special!
You need to look into this fn special police .308…very similar to that Sako as it has mod70 claw action and 24” 1:12 monster barrel…im pressin in the 110varmageddons over imr4198 and man they are screamin…my hit loads are over 3490fps all I know as crono won’t pick em up …no recoil..all touch and explosively violent..Macmillan stock..the factory fn trigger is unbelievable…action and badger base bedded from factory and will stack 168s..110s…125 ballistic tips..under .5”…hates 150bt…🫡…sherif matt Dillion in Ky..
