- Опубликовано: 2 апр 2022
- Resident Evil, known in Japan as Biohazard, is a Japanese horror video game series and media franchise created by Capcom. It consists of survival horror, third-person shooter, and first-person shooter games. The franchise has expanded into a live-action film series, animated films, television series, comic books, novels, audio dramas, and other media and merchandise.
The first Resident Evil was created by Shinji Mikami and Tokuro Fujiwara and released for the PlayStation in 1996. It is credited for defining the survival horror genre and returning zombies to popular culture. With Resident Evil 4 (2005), the franchise shifted to more dynamic shooting action; it influenced the evolution of the survival horror and third-person genres, popularizing the "over-the-shoulder" third-person view. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (2017) moved the series to a first-person perspective.

I don't care what people say, I love Re5.
The mods?
@@youtubestudiosucks978 the mods are fire like night terror
Give Sheva the m9 and put her onto attack mode, she actually usefull
Me too! I would even argue that it’s my favorite one.
I feel like it faced the same problem as MGS 5. If it was a separate game that wasn't part of the series or a spin-off people wouldn't complain that much. But because of the name people expect a certain style of gameplay and when it doesn't fit that style it gets bashed.
I just finished 5 a few days ago, and maybe this is a hot take opinion, but I loved it. Its essentially an 80s action movie with horror elements. It's off off wall but that's why I enjoyed it. You punch a Boulder for goodness sake!
Nah re5 out sold any other re game so far
I get Broken Arrow vibes from RE5.
I thought RE 5 was decent RE 4 is Still better though
RE5 is my favorite. And I grew up with the old school REs. I've beaten this game at least 25 times and it never gets old.
The best place to farm money for weapon upgrades is the licker hallway, in 5 3 I think it was not when you first encounter them after walking through all of the cages with the goats
Love 5. Still playable till this day and the graphics blow me away for 2009 standards. One thing I wished Village included was the combat for the mercenaries mode - it adds tons of replayability. This is one game I wouldn’t mind for a remake lol
Well it's coming to RE8 now! + Third Person 😁
The first RE game I've ever played, so this one has a special place in my heart ♥
same i played it for hours on end and beat it prob more then 5 times
i got platinum on this game back on ps3. Absolute legendary Resident evil game
Yeah bro, literally it's one of the legendary game we won't be seeing in future anymore due to rise of online fps fast pace games, they stopped even making co-op mode games to increase sales of console and games per person.
This seems to be the case for many ppl lol. Think is due to the action -esque theme.
One of my all time favorite RE games. And one of the reasons it's up there is the simple fact I played it in couch co op mode with my best friend.
I really wish Sheva Alomar return, part 9 or Revelation 3
me too, but it's probably not going to happen, capcom has abandoned a lot of important characters and plots
For those wondering where the F 💣 is, it's in chapter 2 - 1. It plays after a 'semi' cutscene of Kipepeo are trying to take down a helicopter and Kirk yells this:
"What the *fuck* are those!? Mathison to HQ! I'm under attack by flying B.O.W.s!
I'm losing engine power!
Oh shit! I'm out of control!
I'm going down!
Mayday! Mayday!"
Chris: "Kirk!! What's going on!?"
I’ve played this game so many times that I heard their voice actors in my mind while reading lol
The F 💣 is also dropped by Doug in Desperate Escape
Was that line in the playable demo too? I recall you see Kirk going down, but I can't remember if he drops the f bomb in the demo.
@@Gruntvc I'm pretty sure it does
I was wondering, why didn't he show it in the video? It'd take seconds and it's what the video is about xD
RE5 grew on me.
Same
Same tbh
I’ve finished RE4 hundreds of times, and I thoroughly enjoyed RE5 back on the 360, I remember all the modded weapons a bunch of people had.
I found myself playing more RE5, than any other Resident Evil game.
Once you get used to the menu system, it is very easy to use. It is even faster to load with the menu, than with the animation.
It's what makes it so good in mercenary. Veteran who memorize the location of items can reload gun during climbing or jumping animations. Save much valuable time.
@CORKY I own every single one except umbrella corp. Re5 is still up there in terms of fun. For me its No.1. But I understand why it isn't other peoples
@@chandlerdrey6624 It's my #1 too and for very good reasons
RE5 is probably my favorite Resident Evil game. Playing it once a year with my best friend is simply tradition at this point.
that sound awesome
I can remember when the NAACP actually tried to get this game scrapped entirely because it took place in Africa, with Chris being white and the villagers being African; Capcom argued stating that it actually made sense since many viruses did come from Africa and with the diseases and stuff there already that it only made sense to send Umbrella to Africa.
I also remember the Executioner being as strong if not stronger than the Tyrant.
It was also the first time we truly got to throw in legit melees during a fight too.
That's cap
I’m black and that’s fkn stupid. Love this game tho
A truly worthwhile cause for the community
lol
Yeah but any group of people would complain about a white American character going to their country killing the natives. Looks like Capcom changed RE5 up a bit cos not all the villagers were black in the final game.
As for remaking RE4, the gameplay has come full circle and I'm really hoping for a return to third person camera angles. What I'd like to see in RE9 is a return to past and look into Umbrella's beginnings and early experiments. It would be cool to use old weapons too. A game like REmake with todays graphics would look incredible. More hidden labs I say!
personally id prefer to stay first person but with a actually good story un like everything after RE5
First person is so lame ...and ppl say re cameback to thier roots??? And all i see a silent hill game called re.. there no more zombies
@@rainingstorm4526 there are a lot of games i with had a first person option suck as ghost recon, the division, for example 3rd person shooters are "lame" to me
Same here, man. I hope RE9 goes back to the roots of actual zombies and not weird fungus monsters or vampires and werewolves n shit. And is actually suspenseful and scary w good puzzles etc. That being said I think the RE4 remake is going to be fantastic just like the RE2 remake and it may be a couple 2 or 4 years until RE9 but yeah I really hope they go back to '97-'98 and do something w Umbrella. Cannot agree more
@@rainingstorm4526 first person is awful in RE games.. I'm glad they made a change in RE8 where you can switch to 3rd person.
I wish Capcom made more coop games. RE5 and 6 were great games and they really have an eye for them, even they weren't the most accurate representation of the RE formula. Played hundreds of hours of it.
couldn't agree more. There's something sp satisfying about playing RE coop, especially split screen. thank god at least revations 2 is playable in coop too
Have you played revelations 2? RE5 is my baby but damn, Rev2 was just as fun. I was the second player as well, so I know the different gameplay styles given may leave a bad taste but that game is amazing.
They can keep their single player games in the main story if they want, just give us amazing Co-op experiences like Re5-6-Rev2 in the revelations series and I would be so happy.
@@chandlerdrey6624 I didn't find rev2 to be as fun. Played the entire game only as player 2, you are a very valuable support character but it's very simple and straightforward that it gets boring later on. Just pointing fingers/flashlights, backhits or throwing rocks(though it's really fun to do 3-pointer rock throws with natalia).
But Raid Mode is the most fun I've ever had in that game. Dare I say it, I had more fun in Rev2's raid mode than any of Re mercenaries(and I love mercenaries!)
The problem is that they are not made for COD/Overwatch/Tiktok fans
Rev2 co op is trash. Idk who thought it would be a good idea to just not let the other player have a combat option. Nobody just wants to follow you around and point a flashlight while you do all the work
#20, it was supposed to be Sherry but was later scrapped and made into Ashley. Which is why they have similarities
It's stupid how critical people were and still are of RE5 despite RE4 literally doing everything it did first to massive praise.
RE5 is a great game that pushes what RE4 started to a new level. I understand the shift to co-op being controversial, but that doesn't diminish how excellently they transitioned RE4's formula to co-op. It is still one of the best co-op experiences til this very day.
RE4 changed the direction of the series and RE5 followed suit. Yes, it's still a bad Resident Evil game with a dumb story that feels disconnected from the rest of the series, but so was RE4 and that didn't hold it back.
fact!!
Putting these two games in the same basket, while one of them is way more mechanically and atmospherically better then the other is a bad take. Re 4 had plenty of of horror set pieces, from the dusky village to the chants of the cultists and even to the regenerators. Re 4 is the most praised re games and considered one of the best games in general for a reason. Re 5 is a good a game don’t get me wrong but it’s filled with so many gameplay flaws and it took the series in a terrible direction due to it’s success at the time. Re 4 doesn’t deserve any of the blame it gets for the shift in the franchise because in its own merits, it’s one of the best game’s of all time, and the blame lies solely on capcom but hey at least they turned it around with re 7.
@@arman_llc624 Acting like these 2 games aren't exactly the same thing but praising one for its atmosphere and critical success while dismissing the other for absolutely no reason and placing all the blame on it is a pretty terrible take. A darker atmosphere and chants don't make Resident Evil 4 anymore of a horror game than RE5.
@@Turo602 sure bud, I guess this is where we defer in terms of our opinions because I along with the majority of others don't agree with any of your statements at all. it very much seems like you're not looking at both games from a critical perspective and are completely brushing of all the aspects that make these two games feel and play completely differently. but hey I guess it all comes down to opinions and I can't argue about that
@@arman_llc624 Who the fuck are these others you speak of? Claiming a fake majority doesn't bolster your misguided and uninformed views about the series and these 2 games specifically which you have failed to speak in-depth about to back up your false blanket statements. You also just come off like such a tool trying to use herd mentality to disregard someone else's opinion, which only exposes how insecure you are about your own opinions.
I remember when we first bought a ps3 with my brother, this is one of our first game. Sadly this is also the last game we play on ps4., days before my brother passed away we were playing re5 and we manage to defeat the first boss. Everytime I play this game since he passed away can't prevent myself from being sad a lot of memories on this game.

Technically, if you wanna include spin offs, Resident Evil Outbreak (2003) also showed your character equip weapons and the inventory did not pause the game either. But Resident Evil 5 is the first main title game to do so.
also the journalist from outbreak is a cannon character
@@badgirls1954 From what I can tell, they’re all canon characters, Alyssa is just currently the only one that was ever mentioned again.
@@Spiritx1992 this might be unpopular opinion but the outbreak series was imo the best off branch re game to date
The outbreak series is cannon. so i say they count as well.. Outbreak in my 2nd fav RE game. My 1st is RE3, the original, not the garbage remake
@@doughunter4498 I agree the original RE3 was my favorite too. I have mixed feelings about the remake. It’s a good game if you look at it as it’s own thing. It passes the vibe check for a resident evil game, but as a remake it doesn’t do the original justice. Especially if you compare it to the RE2 remake which was almost perfection.
Interesting video, RE5 is one of my favourites
Ikr? All of those facts actually surprised me. I didn’t know that las plaga hated the sun.
Same here
@@eissaaldhaheri7702 I didnt know that last plaga couldn't survive in the sun either
@@Carlos-np7du yeah very fun In co op
I wish Capcom could’ve added more enemies like zombies (disposed body), monkeys, chimpanzee, gorillas, tigers, lions, the Tribe King, anaconda and other enemies.
Also, it would be cool and challenging as hell if they could added a brand new highest difficulty level, “Uroboros”, which you basically play the story mode with hundreds of enemies coming towards you, like No Mercy from the mercenaries mode feels into it.
Resident Evil 5 is one of my favorites in the series. Awesome graphics, gunplay, finding treasures, co-op, mercenaries, music, etc. It's still fun today. I absolutely love it :)
Same, RE4, RE5, RE7, RE8, RE2 & RE3 remakes are my favourites.
On the Switch version they have a auto feature for all QTE which makes the game very easy instead of mashing buttons. This also makes it easy to play as Sheva throughout the entire game without using co op to help her during the magma level
with #14 you are wrong, the first game with real time inventory was re outbreak
Resident Evil 5 was the first MAIN entry to have this feature. Outbreak was a side game.
Mercenaries, Desperate Escape & Lost in Nightmares was really cool. Thanks for finding out what the tattoo means,. always wondered. Loved all the characters 👍
It's cool that Resident Evil 5 has a few secrets i didn't even know about, you did a nice job here RapidCrafter ✊
A buddy and me played Re5 together the entire way through. We had an absolute blast knocking enemies back and forth, trying to see how many times we could do it before one of us missed lol. Good times.
Awesome video thanks dude!😎👍👍👍👍👍
RE5 was my first RE game and will always be my favorite too. I'm not the type of person to re-play games once i finished them but i've played 5 so much
Jill was not based on Haunting Ground, it is Julia Voth, the same model used for REmake which released years before Haunting Ground and looks nothing like her aside blonde hair.
Outbreak 1+2 had real time inventory before RE5.
Other games had subtitles. Every release in Japan for one, but Umbrella Chronicles as one example two years before RE5. It also had a History segment in it.
UC as English subtitle example*
Nice vid! I've actually missed a few references there and never heard about the scrapped desert level.
Also that very same "Fog" scrapped version featured Leon becoming a member of anti-Umbrella or anti-bioweapon special military group. much like Chris joining BSAA.
Strike team attacked and wiped out by the black fog monster in the beginning, seems to have moved to RE5 as well, tho black fog monster was changed to black tentacly goo monster. Japan and their tentacle fetish...
With the Model 500 fully maxed out combined with the infinite ammo, when Wesker is about to do a full energy burst you have barely a second to fire the handcannon and stun lock him for a serious beat down. Its great but it takes time to practice this
it's kinda boring playing with infinite ammo, you don't have any reason to use the melee combos, which are like half of the game's mechanics.
I rarely play 5 anymore because I’ve played it too many times that it got to the point that there’s no challenge anymore. I could do professional solo with no infinite ammo and the game is still a cakewalk
I remember playing this back in the day on 360. It was Re4 with coop and I liked it. Good game. Good memories. Got the Xbox one version and loving it.
that
voice crack tho lol love your videos dude
I remember playing this game on my old laptop after finishing all of my paperwork in college. That menu screen was fun and different from RE4, having to actually run away from the enemy and heal myself constantly on professional mode, it was scary for me. I died in the game a couple of times when there's a horde of zombies ganging up on me. RE 1-6 will always be my favorite RE games of all time.
yeah 7 and 8 just don't hit the same
You guy's are crazy to not even acknowledge 7 which essentially brought the series back up on it's feet.
The co-op was a genius way of leaning into the campy action that Code Veronica and RE4 established, that being said it did make the single player mode kinda annoying for having to deal with Sheva. And I know some people like to ignore this aspect, but it was quite uncomfortable when all the zombies started becoming tribal warriors that threw spears, because the in game lore explained it as them "reverting back to their old ways". Not explicitly racist, more so just hilariously, ignorantly, innocently, insensitive in a way only a Japanese developed game in the 2000's could be.
I played RE5 to death back in the day and I finished it with many friends. Probably one of the best co-op games at the time.
And still one of the best couch co-op games still out there
Resident Evil 5 still rocks even after years which I have completed the mission from end to end. The creators really did a great job
Thanks to your thumbnail image i now know that there was a co-op character. I never knew this playing through the entire game.
“This was later changed”. “This was later scrapped”
If you would have never said that, I would have never realized.
Easily my favorite re game. I've probably beat this game somewhere around 5-7 times. I think the reason this game doesn't get as much love as it deserves, is because some people may not have had somebody to co-op with. The number one complaint, I hear about this game is "tHE BaD PArtner AI." which is something I wouldn't know about. Every time I beat it, it was couch co-op with my bro.
Nice work Buddy
Honestly, I had a blast playing this. Co-op campaign online or local was so much fun. It isn't the best game ever but it had a lot of replay value and playing with different people time and time again was great. I always thought the graphics on this game were great too.
If they remake RE5, which I don’t thinking they will, I hope they will make it more like the original idea with Chris being solo and making all those awesome moves it did in the previews.
RE5 was the second best co-op game i ever played behind Halo. Love this game
Yes it's different from other RE games but I love it. It's one of my favorite games. I've completed it 100% many times and still comeback to it every so many months
I wonder if sheva will come back
One day
prob not, capcom likes to introduce and forget about important characters, such as jake, parker, jessica and carlos.
edit: I forgot Natalia from Revelations 2, which is prob as important as jake
@@AndreVBr natalia was gonna be in revelations 3. but that was turned into re8. so natalia might come back..... if capcom dose not cancel revelations 3 like they did rebbeca chambers game
Wish there wasn't so many small random things like "Sheva's tattoo meaning" or "switching guns is visible now". Seems like it's just to fill the video. Still a great vid and a great game
RE 5 is still one of my favorite resident evils, just because of the co-op. i love playing with my friends. my top 3 are RE3 (original), RE Outbreak and RE5
One of the most underrated soundtracks of all time thats for sure
Mmmm No. I'm 100 percent sure the Mansion was supposed to be a "return to Spencer mansion" type deal and had nothing to do with the castle section from RE4.
The RE5 music takes me back... I feel to replay on my Xbox Series X
Sheva's tattoo actually means "Brave "
There's a second Dead Rising reference: In the building you obtain the Dragonov SVD from is a table with a newspaper from the "Williamette Times" reporting the first game's outbreak.
Me who platinumed RE5 twice, once back on the PS3 like 12 years ago, then here recently playing the PS4 version on my PS5, RE5 is my all time favorite RE so I really hope it gets a Remake like RE2,3, and 4!
I Finish this game a week ago and it is very fun. I Admit the mecanics were hard to accept at first, but soon as I get use to them I start loving the game. Replayng now with Sheba
RE5 menu music is so nostalgic.
Campaign is only good for laughs but mercenaries is really good once you learn the mechanics (constant melee combos and inventory reloading)
Gonna push up my metaphorical taped glasses and say Outbreak File 1 and 2 both had real time inventory systems years before RE5, great video still 👍
Is it also the first RE where you can play through campaign with two players ? idk but it was really fun !
I wis they would keep doing it for the newer REs.
You mean 19 facts. There isn't anyone who's played this that did not know Sheva was left handed.
The currency in RE5 is called naira, based on the currency of Nigeria just as pesetas in RE4 are based on Spain's obsolete currency and Lei (singular Leu) from Village are based on Romania's currency. I mention this because the game only uses the symbol for naira and doesn't spell it out, so I often see people just refer to the currency as "gold"
the first RE game where the inventory didnt pause is actually resident evil outbreak
Number 15 is gonna make me hook up re5 to a surround sound set
Used to play this game co-op constantly - always played Chris as didn’t like playing Sheva for some reason I couldn’t put my finger on. It makes so much more sense now seeing that they stand on opposite sides of the screen 🤣
yeah sheva has a different set of attacks from chris, with different timings and damage
I don’t play a lot of shooter games, but re5 is my fav co op I’ve played. Played it a dozen times probably. Currently playing it with my 11 year old nephew on the switch and he loves it too. And eleven year olds don’t like to admit they like stuff unless they really like it. Lol
Resident evil 5 was the first game played in the franchise, and ever since then I’ve played resident evil 2 & 3. Really enjoy those games so much especially 5 with coop
was it RE3 remake?
@@PIXEL-yt3fu yeah
@@KidCigano oooo, I'd play the original if I were you - the Remake is awful compared to the original
@@PIXEL-yt3fu I’ve heard that the remake was terrible. And since you’re saying it’s better, I’m sure I’ll enjoy much more
@@KidCigano just be warned the Nemesis is more active than Mr.X in the remake and original combined
Nemesis is with you basically 80% of the game and is way more terrifying
Say what you want about RE5 but, i love it and have replayed it a lot of times. Super fun to play with someone else.
Re5 is my favorite resident evil game and always has been. I think it's the best co op action game ever made
agreed, most coop games, like borderlands for example, are actually just you and other people, not much interation and mechanics around cooperation.
Outbreak's inventory was also real time, so we can say RE5 was the first main title to have it. Just helping, video is amazing! haha
OMG! thats why jill looked so familiar. haunting ground was one of those games i rented and it just wasnt for me. i can appreciate it for what it is but as a kid i had 0 fun with that tile lmao
I want to point out something that tiger uppercut from Street fighter is not a special move. It is a regular move that you can easily do at will.
Where my Lefty at? The attention to detail in Sheva wow. 😍
I plan to replay RE5 again on my Switch OLED in handheld mode once I finish RE0.
The Resident evil outbreak games also had an inventory that didn't pause the game.
4:14 that voice crack got me laughing a lot I swear
Regarding Sheva's tattoo, it is an Arabic word, meaning "Brave," with a feminine inflection. The word is (shuja'a), and the masculine countepart is (shuja').
Great video!
Tbh Great and imo all Facts especially Sheva Being left handed n Chris being Right Handed
Commentator: RE5 was the first RE to introduce the f bomb.
Me: RE5 was the first RE to introduce punching a boulder.
fact no. 14 is wrong. Resident Evil Outbreak was the first game that introduced this feature.
I've finished this game like 4-5 times , this resident evil version not scary at all , but its still fun.
Yeah it's one of my most played games, I am not sure how many times i've beaten it but I have 400 hours on steam alone, actually if you have it on steam I would def enjoy replaying it again
@@AndreVBr that must be more than 20 times re-playing story mode , never bored
Good show make a part 2
I'm surprised you didn't mention the special physical attacks you get in co-op mercanieres if you pick two specific characters and that Chris gets 2 special attacks while the other 5 characters only get 1
Chris with Barry or Rebecca
Barry with Chris or Josh
Josh with Barry or Sheva
Sheva with Josh or Excella
Excella with Sheva or Rebecca
Rebecca with Chris or Excella
Wait, what??? I never knew that. Can you give me more info on how to do it?
@@xchvnge2.071 I'll use Chris as an example but every playable character in RE5 has 6 physical atracks for basic enemies (1. an enemy on the ground he can stomp, 2. a head shot stunned enemy he can straight punch, 3. an enemy on their knees he can break their neck from the back or, 4. from the front he can uppercut them, 5. a shoulder shot stunned enemy he can kick from the back or, 6. from the front he can hook punch them. But when Chris is partnered with Barry or Rebecca his uppercut gets replaced with Rising Uppercut and his neck breaker gets replaced with Hammer Elbow. Every other character (besides Jill and Wesker, they don't have any special moves) gets only 1 special move when partnered with any 1 of 2 of their "partners".
I just finished the game a few days ago and I just found out that there is a list of failed deceased experiments. The last person on the list is Ethan W.. Is it the same Ethan Winters from RE7 and 8?
The fact they was going to give chris back jill but changed their minds. It would have been better if they didnt have to wait to revelations to meet
Another thing about RE4, although this is more known: the original build of RE4 actually ended up becoming the first Devil May Cry.
Love it
I just went through this game again.
Resident Evil 5 Remake could be a possibility since the announcement of Resident Evil 4 Remake.
Oh man that inventory in RE4 was to hectic for me…lol maybe that’s just ocd 😂
Great game I love how U can change the pov to classic mode.
Useless but cool♥️
First one is incorrect. Outbreak had f bombs, & more than one. I don’t remember 5 having any.
RE5 was the first MAIN entry to have it. Also, Kirk says it when he's in the helicopter being attacked by the flying parasites
First RE game where the inventory screen runs in real time was Outbreak.
This is my favorite game of all time. Not just RE game
Number 14 is wrong if you remember correctly resident evil outbreak didn’t pause in the inventory screen.
All these years of playing RE5 and I don't remember the F bomb.
Where was it?
I don't remember it myself too but I do remember Leon saying shit at the beginning of RE4 if that counts as something.
Kirk says it when he's in the helicopter being attacked by the flying parasites
@@RapidCrafter RIP Kirk!
The Outbreak series had inventory screens running in real-time before RE5 did?
Sand zombies would of BEen awesome if it was a short quiet lvl where the characters became a little delusional due to the heat and lack of water, no music and the players encountering mirages
Even though Resident Evil 5 has a fair share of criticism, I think one positive we can all agree on is that it looks amazing for it’s time as a ps3 Xbox 360 game.
If you play the game on Professional difficulty online, people will quit immediately when they find out the infinite ammo mode isn't on.
i can see why alot of people hate on re5 but i think they made it more fun especially since u can play with someone, it never felt boring and i think i have above 200 hours on it, the game is amazing and its first on my RE list second is 4 and 5 is first cuz u can have more fun playing with someone unlike playing alone in 4 but its still a legendary title
I agree! RE5 is a really fun game, especially in co-op
