Welcome to the Alter Bridge world! These guys are a band formed by three former members of Creed (Mark Tremonti, Scott Phillips and Brian Marshall) along with Myles Kennedy on vocals. They genuinely don't have a bad song. They've been together since 2004 and this song is off their first album. They just dropped their 7th studio album Pawns & Kings on October 14th of this year. Some other songs to check out would be Blackbird, Cry of Achilles, Words Darker Than Their Wings (Live at Royal Albert Hall) and literally anything else you can find. Killer band.
Lead singer is Myles Kennedy. The guy is an absolute legend. One of the best singers in rock. Do some more Alter Bridge reactions. I recommend Pawns and Kings. They just came out with it.

They have so many great songs it's not even funny: try Rise today, Blackbird, Watch over you, Cry of Achilles, Before tomorrow comes, Lover, Fortress, Words darker than their wings, etc. Any of these are good and there's tons more. Also Myles Kennedy is one of the best rock singers of all time
The song Down to my Last has one of the coolest guitar solos ever. Great album
YES it is imo Mark’s best written solo even over Blackbird bc Blackbird was a dual solo between Mark and Myles. Just a beautifully written solo
Imagine if you will a vocalist who is so underrated yet also a banging guitarist with another banging guitarist and drummer and bassist who can make songs with 4/4 beats that can sound like 6/9 beats. My next suggestions, if you will allow this humble man to suggest foe you to be entertained from this band would be Blackbird (live in Amsterdam), Cry of Achilles, Fortress, Words Darker than their Wings (live at Albert Hall), and Fable of the Silent Son. All epic songs! It will blow you away! I've seen them 4 times and met them twice. Very talented but underrated.

PS - Myles Kennedy is the lead vocalist. Killer vocal range - still just as great today into his early 50’s now. Sings lead for Slash’s current band also.
They just dropped a new album in October - The majority of the songs on the record are killer, but This is War or Fable of the Silent Son would be worth checking out to see how their sound has evolved.

I had the same reaction when I discovered Alter Bridge, only about 4 or so years ago. I'd heard Metallingus from the WWE, but didn't really put two-and-two together about who they were until much later. Myles Kennedy has been such a revelation to me - his solo acoustic work is unbelievably good, as well as his collaboration with Slash. That four-octave voice puts him on another level. Then you team him up with Tremonti going beast-mode on guitar, and they're absolute powerhouses. You're in for quite a ride if you go down this rabbit hole xD

Glad you're getting into Alter Bridge, Metalingus is one of their most well-known songs, you probably might I've heard of it, and it was the entrance song to The Edge (the wrestler), and not only that lead vocalist Miles Kennedy and and guitarist Mark Tremonti makes better use in this song from the same debut album as this.
Mark Tremonti and Scott Phillips are perfect together. Marks guitar style and Scott’s style on the drums pair well. They’ve been together in Creed, AB and Tremonti. The vocals of Myles 👌. He does great work with Slash also!
One of those voices in rock that you recognize immediately! Lovely song as well haven't heard it in ages. Their song 'Come to life' used to be my favorite back in like 2008 or something 😄

I'd recommend Words Darker Than Their Wings (Live at the Royal Albert Hall) for a showcase of how good Myles (and Mark's) vocals are.
Some of my other favourites are Rise Today, Find the Real, Before Tomorrow Comes, White Knuckles, Isolation, Make It Right, Coeur d'Alene, Never Born to Follow, Cry of Achilles, Waters Rising, Silver Tongue, Fable of the Silent Son and Last Man Standing.

Check out Metalingus... such an awesome song..Alot of ppl thing that rock and metal are songs about sex and drugs, but its so much more... I couldnt count the time a metal or Rock song has brought me to tears... either way check out the song is listed.

Man.....and I thought I was late on the scene (5 years ago). I'm 66 and have been into heavy bands since the early 70s, but Alter Bridge is just about all I listen to these days. Kurtis B. I am jealous of you, because you have such an awakening ahead of you...I would suggest that you start with their first album 'One Day Remains' and react to every song they ever did (Seven albums in all)......You will not regret it my friend. I only knew it as Edge’s theme song for the first little while. I had heard Open Your Eyes but never made the connection. Great band and a bit of a Super Group in retrospect

Man Myles can sing
You need to do something off of the new album Pawns and Kings, it's an amazing album full of riff driven and vocal melodies. If you like this you'll love the new album. Myles Kennedy's vocals are top notch and Mark Tremonti is one of this ages best guitarist, and you don't have to take my word cause he's been voted that by guitar world as well as other entities. Myles also sings for Slash and Mark has his own band called Tremonti with 5 albums under them which are all awesome as well as now 7 Alter Bridge albums! Please do yourself a favor and do something like the title track Pawns and Kings, you won't be disappointed.
You can tell that Mark Tremonti is a big Metallica fan.

Alter Bridge are incredible. This is not even close to one of their best songs...and it's still a good song.
I recommend listening to Backbird next, start with the studio version and then watch the live at Amsterdam version. I also love the live at Wembley version of Blackbird because it's so emotional but bear in mind that Myles was sick at that show even though he still sounds amazing.
This band don't make bad songs and they are one of the best hard rock
Myles Kennedy is for my money, the best rock vocalist alive today, he legit belongs at a table with Chris Cornell, Jeff Buckley, Layne Staley and Robert Plant.
Myles vocals have evolved over the years, he sings with less power and grit now which is partly due to age but he is a really technical singer too and has purposefully adopted a technique that will allow him to sustain his career for longer. He still has crazy pipes at 53 so it's obviously working which is astonishing given that that man probably tours more than any rock star I know of (he's also been touring with Slash for a decade and has a solo project.)
You don't hear it on their first album but Myles is also an incredible guitarist, as in so good that both Mark Tremonti (lead guitarist) and Slash have said the Myles is a better technical guitarist than both of them.
I seriously can't say enough great things about Alter Bridge, you just have to dive in!
dont beat yourself up. alter bridge is the broken peices of creed. creed is in tact, except for scott stapp. miles kennedy stepped in and became the new singer for creed in a sense. a far superior singer to stapp, who was no slouch on his own.
