For European sunscreen users: Ganier ambre solaire also has a spray sunscreen that is specifically for applying over makeup. It's called "over makeup super uv"
The Garnier ambre solaire is like the only sunscreen i have found that looks amazing on the face. I mean seriously, i used to skip wearing sunscreen because nothing looked great on me, now i wear everyday with pleasure! I will try what you recommended! Also, if you have a Lidl around try the Cien 50 SPF sunscreen for kids, they reformulated the product and it kind of looks liquidy like the serum she used in the video. I have to test this!
I live in an extremely hot and humid climate, it's almost impossible for me to reapply sunscreen on sweaty, dirty face, so I go for physical shades. Firstly, I apply my sunscreen and always wear hat and sunglasses, if I have to go out after 2-3 hours of applying sunscreen then I put on a upf protected scarf, hat and my sunglasses. I know that's not possible for many people but just an option, if your lifestyle supports it.
It's miserable in Florida as well. Anything you've done literally melts as soon as you're outside... And sometimes inside IT'S SO HUMID. But you can always try to wear a hat and 😎. And for sunscreens, the only one that stays on my face but doesn't bother my skin for a long time outdoors is Neutragena sport face sunscreen. I've been wearing The One That's Got it All by Hello Sunday brand under makeup and it is a primer too. Not suffocating to wear and doesn't destroy your makeup.
I live in a hot and humid climate too, and I also tend to sweat from my face a lot, so the thought of reapplying sunscreen is kind of horrifying to me lol. You also end up saving money when you get things that can be used over and over again indefinitely after spending money once.
I've been using powdered sunscreen after applying my sunscreen for over 8 years, maybe longer, I put it in a loose powder compact container. Makes it easy to carry around.😉
I also love the supergoop brand. I too put it in a different container for easier application. The new supergoop brush is not removable now it use to be but alot of people we’re having issues with the brushes falling off. So now it is not removable and they also renamed it “re setting powder” instead of the invincible powder. They have 4 shades different from translucent, light, medium and Deep.
@@brierobinson194 I started with other brands, didn't need to pick it up at my dermatologist office, it's just easier to find or order online. Yes, I've noticed the brush isn't removable anymore. Lol, I too had issues with the brush popping off & had problems with the amount that came out. That's why I'd rather use my own loose powder compact container, faster & more control when applying the sunscreen powder.😉🌺
My solution: not wearing makeup Pros: less product to own/buy, less complications, and less likely to flare my eczema Cons: some people think I am being lazy and unkept because I don't wear makeup (then proceed to get surprised at the variety of skincare products I own)
I stopped wearing foundation like 2 years ago (and you would never see me without it because i used to have acne and scars when i was younger). Nobody ever told me I am lazy for not wearing it, on contrary people now are complimenting my skin. But on that note, wearing sunscreen is easy peasy when not wearing makeup, especially as a person with oiler skin.
@@hot_salsa_dipping_sauce Honestly sometimes i think it's the expectations we set. If you always wear a full face of makeup with smokey eyes and full lips, contour etc. The moment when you go makeup free people will think you look sick or weird. It's just that comparison. But for the fellow friends i have that have never wore makeup i just can't imagine them with it, they look perfect the way they are. (And we all do for that matter) On contrary i once went out with no makeup (which i wasn't used to) and felt completely stressed about it and i had 3 guys in my group of friends tell me (without me asking) that i look so much better without makeup. But never in my life have i heard someone tell a girl that they look lazy for not wearing makeup.

I stopped wearing foundation all together and just wear tinted sunscreen and a bit of concealer! My life has been changed. 😂 I use the Garnier mineral tinted face sunscreen, it's tinted enough that it gives me a nice glowly tan but also coverage !
I've had this question for years. I live in India and the sun is pretty bad and SPF is super important. But there's also pollution and sweaty-ness so the combination of factors makes it terrible for reapplication. I had started washing my face at work at lunch and then applying sunscreen from scratch all over again. A couple of issues to this approach - I have made a mess of my work clothes by splashing water. And I can never wear make up in the day time. This was ok when I was younger, but as I'm aging, I like some coverage, just to look a little more awake and feel a little more confident at work. I'm going to try the powder sunscreen for reapplication next time I go into the office. Thank you so much for addressing this!! ❤️❤️😭
I'm really concerned with "dirty" reapplication. Reapplying over "the day" of oil or dirt or pollution or germs. My thoughts is to wipe down with a toner in between ( to degrease and kills some germs). But also wondering if that consistency could damage the skin as well. Likely over thinking this but I really would love some opinions on this!
I don’t think that is a good idea to use a makeup sponge , especially the beauty blenders . They suck up a lot of sunscreen and our skin wouldn’t be getting any. On top it’s a waste of a lot of product.
I personally use the cushion technique. Basically using an empty cushion foundation I put sunscreen inside to reapply. It solves the water issue. As for adequate coverage, yeah regardless of what method you pick if you aren't doing the full application then yeah it won't be adequate. If you want full then you have to sacrifice makeup. Personally I just sacrifice that bit of protection for it. Lab muffin beauty science does an excellent video about it even breaking down powder sunscreens and contacting the colorscience company for more info. (Spoiler: they probably don't give enough protection either) really good video if you want to know more!

7:58 wouldn’t a solution for not getting it in your eyes be to spray it in your hand then pat on face lightly? So you don’t need extra tools and such. I think dr dray recommends applying sprays this way too
@@KyleeFleekMakeup i don’t think so...if your tapping/lightly pressing in, that’s no different than tapping more makeup on...in fact spraying too much/having excess sprayed on could cause more of an issue with dripping/wetting certain areas too much..even with the alcohol component.

But, I just don't think it is wise for me to spend my money on this at this time. Again thank you for trying to help.
I only reapply sunscreen when I go outside which is 2x a day for an hour with my students. It works out for me. So I apply sunscreen 3x a day (morning, first time out and afternoon time out). I’m also vitamin D deficient so I do soak some sun here and there
The Pacifica Set & C Protect SPF 45 Matte Sheer Setting Mist is my go to for reapplication! I also use their Sea & C Sheer Face Serum SPF 55 under my makeup and it’s never done me wrong ❤️
It wasn't until this year that I really started reapplying sunscreen even indoors, 26 years and NO ONE told me to do this. I always heard that I'm crazy for using that much sunscreen. It's great that you make videos like that. My solution for makeup and sunscreen existing together is to use light formulas and layer them. I use sunscreen lotion, then literal pink sunscreen as a blush (my is from SeventyOne Percent, really recommend it to my European folks, they have fun stuff) and eye makeup. Later in the day I apply spf powder, and it's all good
also, be sure to rub a non stinging sunscreen around your eyes (avoiding your tear duct area) where the skin is the thinnest and shows signs of aging the fastest.
Great video! I always take the brush applicators apart so I can use the amount of powder I need. My problem with the brush applicators was that most of the time, I couldn't tell if the powder was coming out or not. So taking the bottom part apart and dipping the brush into the powder makes it much easier! ♥️🙏
Hi Cassandra, The sponge technique first taught by Ms Hannah, an Australian instagrammer. It is best advised to use on a dry sponge to not absorb the sunscreen. It works very well on me. Ms Hanna recommends a microfibre velvet sponge like Juno & Co. Best regards!!! Xo
I have literally search for this video a few weeks ago. So happy to got it from you that I trust 🤩 You teach me how important sunprotection is important, at any moment (which also taught me I need a new dermatologist)
This video is SO helpful. I have been so confused on how to reapply when wearing makeup so I really appreciate these tips and will definitely be buying these products.
I love the Vichy Capital Soleil UV Age Daily SPF 50 and it is so good base for make up and I use their Vichy Derma Blend compact powder foundation SPF 30 for reapplication. Took me forever and a lot of money finding the right ones and finally found the perfect one for me 🥰
I literally started looking this up today! Please do a full review of the powder, liquid, and spray sunscreens you like for reapplying over makeup, we need your expertise! 😄
Definitely upvoting the full video review request on Sunny Side Up SPF 30 Mist 🌞🍳 (shameless plug: It's ultra lightweight on the skin, it's non-oily/greasy, and doesn't leave a white cast!) Check it out here > yours.sg/sunscreen
I would like to know if there's a liquid/runny sunscreen serum that is mineral/reef-safe. Reapplying during outdoor swimming is obviously important but I would also like to be considerate of wildlife.
I show horses out in the hot sun, and have very fair skin. I use the highest SPF I can when getting ready, but never re-apply because I get sweaty (even salty--I can feel the gritty salt on my face, probably combined with arena dirt). Thanks for making this video, it's given me some ideas.
Thank you for these tips! I have been using a powder from Tarte but feel like it isn’t enough so I’m off to buy spray. Also, thank you for the reminder to talk to our dermatologist. I see one annually to check for skin cancers because I’m high risk growing up at a high elevation. I never really thought to ask about other skin issues. Last week I asked about these annoying spots that are not acne. Turns out they were sebaceous hyperplasia and a little time with a laser (ouch) hopefully got rid of them. Not necessary but they bothered me so it was my choice to do that for me.
Hy, i saw this hack i think it was from Lab muffin, she did it with sponge. its the only way ya, at least for me couse i have dry skin and powders dries me out crazy. tnx for the advice, it is great...
The issue with using a serum/ chemical sunscreen is it takes 20 minutes to work. When I am leaving work I do not have time to reapply until after I have clocked out. Using a mineral sunscreen is quick and works instantly.
I hate that I'm commenting twice in a row, but now that I've watches the whole video ... what about your eye lids? I work at an optometrist office and you would be surprised how many people don't know that sun damage can also cause cancer on the eye lids and even you actual eyeballs. Sunglasses with a uv protective filter on them would be the best option, but (again surprisingly) there's a good amount of people who don't go for that option. Is there a non stinging option for the eyelid area?
I wish some brands come up with a pressed compact sunscreen powder, kinda like powder but pressed and with sponge as an applicator. No mess and very convenient. Or is there already one in the market???
I have a Korean sunscreen in a compact you apply like cushion foundation. Dabbing it over well sealed makeup works, though I don’t do full coverage foundation or anything like that.

Hey Emma! Thought we'd jump in here - we ship to US, Canada and a couple more countries! Check us out at lovefromyours.com and hit the chat button for an offer code 🙌
@@lovefromyours Thank you for trying to help. But I am looking for an adorable product to use. Your kit doesn't even come with a cleanser i would have to buy that separately. I also have no way of knowing if this is just a scam or if these products even work. Maybe in the future I will try it. But, I just don't think it is wise for me to spend my money on this at this time. Again thank you for trying to help.
I meant adorable not adorable.
I only reapply sunscreen when I go outside which is 2x a day for an hour with my students. It works out for me. So I apply sunscreen 3x a day (morning, first time out and afternoon time out). I’m also vitamin D deficient so I do soak some sun here and there
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about sprays. Now I know it’s ok to use over makeup.
I've been using Coola's Makeup Serting Spray with SPF 30 for years. It's my favorite!
Literally the video I've been waiting for
We all came for the SPF but stayed for her beauty
Oh my gosh thank you so much for this video!!!! 💗💗💗😍😍😍
The Pacifica Set & C Protect SPF 45 Matte Sheer Setting Mist is my go to for reapplication! I also use their Sea & C Sheer Face Serum SPF 55 under my makeup and it’s never done me wrong ❤️
I already do the serum application. Works really well
It wasn't until this year that I really started reapplying sunscreen even indoors, 26 years and NO ONE told me to do this.
Later in the day I apply spf powder, and it's all good
Any tinted lip spf you recommend?
A video about sunscreen serums ???? YES PLEASE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR MONTHSS!❣❣❣🙏🙏🙏 Do that Cassandra, explain that to us!~~
Yes please
A popular one is Ilia. Dr Alexis Stephens, Penn Smith Skincare and The Style and Beauty Doctor have covered this in their videos.

If you have an empty sanitized cushion compact, you can put the sunscreen serum in there:)!
I purchased an empty cushion compact from Amazon it is like 9$
Can you make an updated video with the best products for general Reapplication? Many more sprays plz?! xoxo
also, be sure to rub a non stinging sunscreen around your eyes (avoiding your tear duct area) where the skin is the thinnest and shows signs of aging the fastest.
Oh my god thankyou!! I’ve just ordered some sunscreen serum ❤️
Great video! I always take the brush applicators apart so I can use the amount of powder I need. My problem with the brush applicators was that most of the time, I couldn't tell if the powder was coming out or not. So taking the bottom part apart and dipping the brush into the powder makes it much easier! ♥️🙏
I love you for this, seriously.
You can also reapply makeup with a sun pact. It’s like a sunscreen in a compact with puff pad.
Your makeup is absolutely gorgeous in this video 😍
Love watching your videos
Can you review ingredients POMIFERA products
I'm using a sunscreen spray from Garnier that you can just spray on your face. I Pat it in a little bit. It's SPF 50
How do you know these powder sunscreens are effective?
Hi Cassandra,
The sponge technique first taught by Ms Hannah, an Australian instagrammer.
Hi cassandra. How. do u get ur high cheek bones mine r low n I want high cheekbones n to get rid of ok laugh lines n getting my neck toned n tight
Over make up throughout the day I just use Mineral Compact sunscreen spf 50 from Avène or Bioderma,
Can you please make an updated videos about toners?☺️☺️If you really need them, some good ones and so on? ❤️ Would be much appreciated!
Spray and sport glasses is best imo. Wipe off the spray that ended up on the lenses and carefully dap it on the undereye and underbrow.
What about spraying the spf on a makeup sponge? Or on hands and press it into the skin?
This video is SO helpful. I have been so confused on how to reapply when wearing makeup so I really appreciate these tips and will definitely be buying these products.
👋
I love the Vichy Capital Soleil UV Age Daily SPF 50 and it is so good base for make up and I use their Vichy Derma Blend compact powder foundation SPF 30 for reapplication. Took me forever and a lot of money finding the right ones and finally found the perfect one for me 🥰
Do the powdered sunscreens mentioned work on darker skin tones?
I literally started looking this up today! Please do a full review of the powder, liquid, and spray sunscreens you like for reapplying over makeup, we need your expertise! 😄
Dr Dray, Dr Alexis Stephens and Lab Muffin also have videos re: sunscreen over makeup and product recommendations.
I need help is the following products any good?
Simple moisturising facial wash
Garnier skin active pure active sensitive
Simple soothing facial toner
I wish someone would make a good Spf setting spray.
So how do the powders work? Do they leave a white caste? 90% of sunscreens leave me looking like a zombie.
Salme! I was on my own and I totally use setting spray spf with a pair if throwaway sunglasses. You can get so much more product than the powders!
I would like to know if there's a liquid/runny sunscreen serum that is mineral/reef-safe. Reapplying during outdoor swimming is obviously important but I would also like to be considerate of wildlife.
You look good with glasses! 🤍🤓
im so glad you uploaded this video
What a useful video!thanks Cassandra
Omg the thumbnail kinda looks like a fake aliexpress ad and I’m all here for it it’s iconic
Yes!! Finally my questions are answered. 😁 Great video. ❤
Thank You!! I've been asking this question all summer!!! I rarely wear make-up but when I do, I need to know this!!
Hy, i saw this hack i think it was from Lab muffin, she did it with sponge. its the only way ya, at least for me couse i have dry skin and powders dries me out crazy. tnx for the advice, it is great...
Cassandra, you are such a adorable person!
Thank you so much for your content.
The issue with using a serum/ chemical sunscreen is it takes 20 minutes to work. When I am leaving work I do not have time to reapply until after I have clocked out. Using a mineral sunscreen is quick and works instantly.
I just gave myself a pat in the back lol
You look so pretty without any makeup 👉🏼👈🏻🥺
You can use the Cosmedix reflect spf 30 spray over the top of makeup too.
Please tell me the the jane iredale Powder is translucent … because there are only 4 shades………..
I use a silicone drop (which I don’t like for my makeup at all) instead of the beauty blender, as ii feel I’m not wasting my sunscreen.
Please can you also review naturium products :)
I wish some brands come up with a pressed compact sunscreen powder, kinda like powder but pressed and with sponge as an applicator. No mess and very convenient. Or is there already one in the market???
I always had this question.
I have a Korean sunscreen in a compact you apply like cushion foundation. Dabbing it over well sealed makeup works, though I don’t do full coverage foundation or anything like that.
It's miserable in Florida.
Can we get Cassandra Bankson videos everyday?! I honestly can't get enough.. haha
