• 9mm Vs 30 Super Carry ...
Big Shied Plus and 30 Super Carry fan here. I own 4 of them and 3 are 30 SC. So glad you discuss this pistol/caliber. I've subscribed and I'll keep watching as long as you keep the vids coming.
Thanks man. I am a big fan of 30 SC too. Stay tuned I have a review of the Shield EZ in 30 SC coming soon. 🤠
I picked up a Shield Plus 10 months ago, in 9mm. It feels great, much better trigger and great texture. It has replaced my G26 and standard Shield as my carry gun. Nice review.
I love the Shield regardless of caliber. I think it is a great little gun.
The Shield Plus is one fine pistol. And 30 rounds is nothing to sneeze at, either. This is definitely a win win combo. 👍👍
The 9mm comes with a 10 & 13 round mag, and do have 15 round mags available.
Nice
Great video, WGP. I used to own a Shield Plus, and it was a very good carry gun. The 30 Super Carry reminds me of the time I almost bought a S&W snubby in 9mm Federal. Luckily, I dodged that boolit.
It’s a snappy firearm but for $299 ($229) when on special it’s a good deal to have. I have a red dot on mine and it’s been reliably flawless. Thanks for posting
Nice video! 30 SC is a great self-defense round (especially the HSTs), and the Shield Plus is a great carry piece. I've been able to find range ammo for about the same price as 380 ACP range ammo online.
Sorry about the S&W customer service. I'm sure I will need them at some point given how many S&Ws I own, so I hope it improves before then!
I don’t own a shield. I want one. Been looking at the shield plus that has the porting…but in 9mm. I do worry about the longevity of 30 super carry. Hard to argue with 17 vs 13 rounds though.
I think high capacity mags are more useful for the range than the .000001% chance of having to use your handgun in a defensive situation. And WAY less of a chance than that even of having to reload in said altercation. I carry a KAHR K40 Elite most days, with 7+1 and one 6 round backup mag, without ever worrying about not having enough ammo. Just my thoughts though. 🤘
I can fit 14 rounds in the 13 round mag and 17 in the 16 rounder ! Works 💯
I gotta try that 🤠
I am not looking, but I would grab this Shield Plus/30sc if the right price came along. A local store has five different types of ammo, not saying that’s a good, only that it was surprising to me.
I think you’re right, the Shield line are tough, all around reliable pistols. I like the feel of a bit extra grip of the plus, over my current 2.0s. The new gen bladed trigger is nice. The hinged trigger is fine, but not really, lol. Those night sights are good, too. Nice package.
I have the first Gen Shield in 9mm it’s pretty good but I quit buying polymer pistols. I have plenty. Even though I still want the Caik TTI , last few years I been buying Old Smiths revolvers Colt revolvers and 1911s , tax return time I want a Colt National Match 1911 in .45 made in my birth year 1965 , u should see the bluing on those pistols
The target always blowing back and forth on the accuracy test drives me nuts.
Thats the Wyoming Wind man. 🤠
@wyominggunproject i know about that. I've got some property out there. Windy days are no fun when I get out there for some prairie dog shooting. Thumb tack that sucker to the ties!
Would say if you are going to review guns and ammo get a chronograph
Is 45 GAP out there in any amount or do you need to reload it?
It’s still out there but it helps if you reload it.
Thanks!
I live in a State with a 10 round magazine limit, so any capacity advantage is moot. Regardless, I think the 30 SC has the same curse as the 327 Magnum had. It sounded great and seemed like a great concept. But nobody bought it.
Yep 👍🏻
