I hope DC can succeed with their own ultimate universe they've already tried this twice with the all star line and the earth one books!

Ok so absolute dc is an ultimate universe i thought it was going to be another normal reboot
The looks of new 52 was not too bad , the new costumes of characters was cool , I hope in this relunch .
I would like to see Hal’s Earth One origin story carry over to his “ultimate” universe counterpart. Make his an astronaut and have him the pilot of the mission they are on.
I love the idea of an ultimate DC universe.
Maybe I’m overthinking things, but does anyone think they’ll not only start at zero, but also set it up like pre-crisis, only focusing on the core DC stuff and removing any charlton/fawcett/windstorm/etc?
In terms of books, at least to start they’ll have to get the tent poles of Batman, superman, Wonder Woman, justice league. After that the sky’s the limit. Personally I’d like to see “Absolute JSA” miniseries or something like that. Just a quick way to establish this worlds history.
So, no Shazam, Peacemaker, Blue Beetle (the Ted Kord one) or Stormwatch?
I do get the term 'less is more' but okay...
You know, there are ideas I thought of on how an 'Absolute DC' could go ahead based on this video. It's just ideas, and I doubt anyone would read these and get inpired, but here we go.
Superman:
Not really sure just how would something that's the equilvalent of an 'Ultimate Superman' would work.
If anything, My Adventures With Superman is somewhat an Ultimate Superman in quite a few ways.
Like a different take on Lois and Jimmy, and ones that know Clark is Superman very early on, Sam and Waller trying to take on Superman and a Lex Luthor with glasses and so far still has hair.
However, given how Gail's Superman has the 40's logo, I have this idea:
What if Superman existed since the 40's and given how Kryptonians have a long lifespan, been around for a long time until he remeraged in modern times after being convinced by Lois (if she's around in modern times) to be Superman again?
Might be something different WITHOUT being too different.
Plus, it'll be amsuing for someone that looks like a man in his 20's or 30's to act like a cheerful grandfather!
Now, if there was an 'Absolute Doomsday' hypothtically, maybe the one thing that could be different was that Superman died...and never came back to life. That, or Doomsday reforms and becomes totally cool with Superman and co.
Batman:
Now Batman might be a challenge to help make different and to compete with OTHER Batman titles, and would be a lot of work to attrach readers into picking up copies of Absolute Batman. But it can work, potentially.
Maybe his origin take is that he did kill someone, like Joe Chill, but found no fulfillment, and bring a new meaning to his 'no kill rule', is because what he did to Chill for revenge scared him and forced him to be more merciful towards people and it was the final tipping point to become Batman...to redeem himself and make sure no one else suffred like he did.
For supporting cast, keep Dick Grayson Robin around, even when he becomes Nightwing maybe, and keep Barbara Gordon Batgirl, but that's it. Keep it a 'Gotham trinity' with allies like Jim or Alfred or Lucius.
If you want Jason Todd, just have him become Red Hood right away and be a rival vigilante that has no problems murdering bad guys while the Bat family try and steer him from killing people.
Wonder Woman:
A take on Absolute WW is that Themyscara is a pocket dimention and treat it like an 'isekai anime meets Greek myth meets Superheroines'.
Wonder Woman goes off to 'Men's world', our world and protects both Earth and Themyscara from threats both magical, gods and dieties that are bad and even from humans that want to exploit it.
And even have Steve and Etta be her newfound friends ehen coming to Earth awhen she gets to become 'Wonder Woman' as the media calls her.
Plus, you can easily have magical things from corners of the DC universe added to the book.
The Flash:
Now this I think will be a fun take on the Flash for Absolute DC!
This Flash...is a teenage superhero!
I know, I know...but I have a gut feeling the Teen Titans will take ages to form in AD or just won't even be a thing.
Barry Allen might be cool, with a teenage Iris West...but then, it'll just be Peter Parker. (Shy guy that is also a quippy hero)
So my ideal AD Flash is Wally West. No Kid Flash...stright up Flash in his teen years.
Cast I think would be Iris West (aunt, sister like the CW or maybe a single mother of Wally in this take), Linda Park (girlfriend as it goes on) and maybe characters we could have as students, teachers or others like David Singh (being Wally's best friend that knows his secret)
Plus villains that are younger (not all) to face off too.
Green lantern:
Hard to try and pitch this since Earth One is the BEST 'ultimate take' for Green Lantern. So, here's some pitch takes:
-He was abducted and finds himself or herself a bounty hunter with a power ring in space. (Like The Mandalorian)
-He/she is chosen as the last of an extinct order of space knights called 'Green Lanterns'. (medieval meets sci-fi)
-This GL is acually more magical and Earth bound than sci-fi.
Don't care which GL is the AD GL, not going into that debate.
That's all I can pitch here.
There's other ideas like a more 'fishman' or a lot more 'half-fish/human' Aquaman, a Cyborg that works for the military (and Waller) to a Zatanna that's like Sabrina the Teenage Witch meets Wednesday or Stranger Things (not sure on that) to even a more 'Greek Hero' like Shazam, but this comment will take LONG to read for everyone here.
I am curious as to why they didn’t do this idea before

Okay, I like the idea, but when I saw the title, I thought of one immediate negative. Say they want to make an Absolute edition of the first 12 issues of Absolute Superman. Do they call it Absolute Absolute Superman? Absolute Superman Absolute Edition? Absolute^2 Superman? I get wanting to evoke parallels to their premium line, but putting these books IN the premium line gets tricky.
Im interested. This is perhaps what the Earth One universe should have been like. Definitely reading Absolute Superman, hopefully Clark starts off with his orginal golden age powerset.

If that theory of Amanda Waller wanting a universe where there’s no heroes would be parallel to the new ultimate universe with the maker altering things would be an interesting story premise

Will this have anything to do with the “Dawn of DC” event? Or is it just a completely different thing?

That's what I initially thought, but no not really. Even though it was a shared universe all the stories were standalone and never crossed over/affected each other.

All star, Earth One and now this.
I doubt it will work. And Snyder is probably the worst choice for this.
I hope this is worth reading because I have been in & out of reading DC lately on the DC infinite app . I have been avoiding the Batman books because I feel like he's over exposed. I have been trying to read World's Finest and I have been mostly busy reading as Many Older comics .
This Absolute DC sounds interesting, I really want to wash the memory of the new 52 out of my mind . I just hope they don't do dark & edgy DC I'm so tired of Dark Depressing & edgy injustice style DC.

@@FortressofSolitude1138 I haven't read them yet .I got out of reading Batman because it was so dark & depressing from the new 52 era , and from what I heard about the Tom King stuff didn't appeal to me . + BvS was my breaking point with Batman
I'm slowly dipping my toe back into Batman with world's finest.
But I have been Away from the main continuity stuff for a long long time.
Last Batman run I truly enjoyed was Grant Morrison's run

DC Black Label is akin to Marvel’s MAX Series.
Absolute DC is akin to Ultimate Universe.
Therefore, not the same thing.

If they don't have Superman & Wonder Woman in a relationship I'm not interested. I've still been pissed off at how they went out of their way to destroy it when it was so great for the characters and the company.
Pairing Superman and Wonder Woman together is so boring.

@@FortressofSolitude1138 No thats not remotely true. Anyone whose paid attention to their entire history knows their relationship has always been far deeper than that. And they've been shipped together long before the New 52. Comments like that always seem so disingenuous. I mean can you honestly look me in the eye and tell me that Clark values Diana solely for her strength? or vice versa? Like c'mon. You KNOW thats not true. To say they don't have chemistry is to deny their entire history.
