Excellent unbiased review. I've seen some reviews from guys that are married to name brands that are so far from unbiased, it's crazy. If you are married to another brand, why even bother to review a product like this. God bless, stay well.
First project would be to fab a new bracket for the air separator! Looks like a nice little plasma cutter for all us home shop welders. Thank you for the useful information.
You don't have to worry about the bracket the company move the power cord to the top right it's not under the regulator anymore.. Wonder what Einstein came up with that idea to have it drip on the power cord..
Good video. I'm thinking of buying this even though his is a few years old, the unit is newer now. A few things though. The reason you don't have that standoff for the torch is because those are drag tips, meant to make contact. Also for people watching, don't hit your work with the torch, that's bad. And the excess leftover isn't slag, it's actually called dross. I'm totally buying the newer version of this.
I'm looking to order one of these now that they're down around $320 and I was wondering if you did a follow-up review. I know you said you were going to do a follow-up but I looked through your videos and I couldn't find one. Is the machine still working, did it break down, did you have any issues with it that needed repair, would you still recommend it?
Looks like the cut50 machines with a few added features. Had mine for a few years. Its not bad for the price. Paid under 200 shipped. I modified mine for a 50a plug so i could use my ext cords for my welder in the shop. Its not as nice of a cut as a 2k machine but it does work
Very good review and I'm still considering it. For the life of me I can't understand why any company would make white, the primary color for the front and the handle on a plasma cutter. I like my stuff looking good and have no desire to clean this thing every time I use it.
got one today i needed it to cut 1/2" steel plate thanks for explaining 2t and 4t the manual was useless it even says 50hz i called they said manual is wrong it does not cut 1/2' shipping it back tomorow
Awesome review! Small tip. You can use a small hammer and tap the surface you cut and the slag should fall off. Like tap the cut surface. If that makes sense
when i turn on YesWelder CUT-55DS plasma cutter dose it save the amps or dose it go back to 55 amps my goes back to 55 amp all the time with power cord plug in can you check Thank You
The Yeswelder 55DS is one I am considering, but do you know if I can connect a PT-31 style torch? I know I will loose the pilot arc, but the PT-31 style works better for me when tracing around wood stencils on sheet metal. And for other work, I can always use the AG60 torch and have pilot arc. If this is not possible, I will get the Yeswelder 45DS. What are your thought? Thanks
I have the plasma cutter 55 the knob on the amps when you turn to get to 55 amp can you still turn it around or dose it stop, and if you set the amps and when you turn it off and back on dose it save the amps or dose it go back to 55 amps? Just checking.
I have a 21 gallon air compressor and have to cut some floor pans out of a donor car and i feel like this should work does anyone know if a 21gallon air compressor will sufice and work for my application
Yeah, the user manual is not impressive...pretty much useless. When the bottom light (next to the bottom 'arrow' button) is on and there is NO air hissing out of the torch, this is mesh cutting mode. When the top light is on and the air is constantly hissing from the torch, this is constant cutting mode. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@Shoptoolreviews Any idea why the constant cutting mode keeps the air on all the time? Due to that, some people think that button is an "air flow" test mode.
Not to be a downer but it didn't perform as stated. But I believe that unit is a non-contact pilot arc unit. " Non-Touch Pilot Arc Plasma Cutter / Dual Voltage 110/220V / IGBT Inverter Portable Cutting Machine" The performance might and likely would improve with the stand off bracket so it's not grounding out.
I've never had a plasma cutter but I see a lot of them say they can run on gas. My question is if it can run on gas can I hook a gas line into the regulator and have it feed in with the airline since the regulator has 3 ports? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I just wanted to ask.
I'm sure you can use argon or co2 but it would be a waste of gas. Air compressed turned into plasma is much less expensive than gas. You just need a medium sized air compressor. Someone commented the size doesmt matter but I think a pancake compressor is not enough, I tried a pancake compressor on a 30 amp hypertherm an it wasnt enough, a 21 gallon harbor freight was enough for the 30 amp.
@@dangthisstupidpasswo i thought so. Thanks very much, i just got one and haven't used it yet. Can't wait to put all my new toys to use and create. Thanks friend
Could not cut through 12" thick bank vault like in the movies. Do not recommend. 1 out of 5 stars. JK. Awesome review! I have a YesWelder MIG/TIG welder and this video makes me want to get their plasma cutter.
Yeah I just bought mine directly thru YesWelder. $340 free shipping no tax. Pilot arc is a great feature. Great reviews and cheaper and more powerful than the Lotos
I would say go for this over Eastwood. I bet its same quality at 1/2 price. You want a nice combo machine go with everlast, plasma and tig AC at $800 or so or cheap plasma and tig DC.

Mine came with a bad pressure gage, right out of the box. Mine was different than the one in this video. The back was completely different. It seemed to cut OK, sometimes good, just sparatic. I had to send it back. I only had it for 1 week and used Amazon's return procedures. Even dropped it off at the UPS as instructed with Amazon Label. I have heard nothing from Amazon. My money may have been lost. I don't recommend this machine.
Nice review. I only wish mine worked. Pure chinese junk. Mine was no good out of the box. Pressure gauge only reads 30psi. I don’t know whether I have to much or to little air pressure. Arc goes out after a few seconds. Yeswelder is putting unreasonable demands on me to fix it.
Hi Tim, your review is definitely the "missing manual". You did a great job explaining set up and function.
That thing you keep calling the "metal mesh mode" is the gas test button. That's why it was letting air pass - so you could test the air pressure.

It’s a great product for the homeowner.

Also i found 80-90psi works well on thicker metal
Great point! Thanks for watching.
So it works with just air from a compressor? No co2 gas tanks for it?
@@Mroswaldo16 Yes, regular air compressor. It uses the air as the plasma.
@@Tom-hz9oc nice thanks. I have to get one to cut a ½ in 6061 i have, instead of using a grinder

Are you sure that was 1/4" metal there at the end? Looked much thicker, like 3/8".
It was definitely 1/4". Thanks for watching.
Im willing to bet it was 3/8
@@RalphGrey-bc8kt I just watched it again. Maybe the slag on the end made it look thicker?

Hello. Its been 2 years since this video was released. I was wondering how well it is working before I purchase one. Thankyou.
Can the air regulator be eliminated because i have an air line that regulated and dried???
They say you need 12 cfm of air
Can not find a shop compressor with that air flow only large rotary one.
What cfm are you using for this demo
Have you try the 45 or 65? Looking to compare those 3 yeswelders units. Thanks
I JUST BOUGHT 1 OF THESE UNIT'S AND IT ALSO HAD A BLACK SPOT ON A TIP THINGY
I SUPPOSE IT WAS FROM TEST CUT PRIOR TO PACKAGING WHICH MAKE'S SENSE

What air compressor (model# please) did you use for this demonstration? I would need to buy one and am looking for a recommendation. Thanks
We're using an Ingersoll Rand Rotary Compressor with a drier. You don't have to have a compressor this big. Thanks for watching.
Bro it doesn't matter that thing doesn't go above 35 PSI
That is a 3/8”plate you’re having trouble cutting through not a 1/4”.
You should review some of the Hitbox unitweld welders. I have the 200 mulitiprocess and it’s awesome. Mig stick tig flux core and it’s $350 on amazon.

What size circuit is required for 220 usage?
50-Amp I believe. Thanks for watching.
By the size of the cord 20 amps would be max draw. The plug is for a standard 50 amp welder receptacle however
