Thanks for the yeswelder plasma cutter. As a result I ordered that same unit directly from Yeswelder as they had a promo code giving a 30% off an already lower price, plus free shipping. I am new to the metal works, having been an accomplished woodcrafter for over 30 years. Thought it time to do something I’ve always wanted to learn. Being 78 your never to,old to learn. Thanks again I am a huge fan of your channel. Signed The Old Student!

@Bruce Pugsley thanks for your support man I appreciate it! AWESEOME score on your plasma cutter! You are going to have a ton of fun! I'm 51 and I still learn new things every day. It would be boring if we didn't. I worked with wood for a liitle while and I have to say you are going to love the transition - Hardly no dust equals a clean workshop. If you make a mistake, just add metal. Much easier than wood in my opinion. Enjoy your new purchase and thanks again for your support! 🙏👍

Im a newbi here with my first plasma cutter, one comment when cutting out a shape or shortening a piece of metal, use the guide clamped to the part you want to keep. The guide will protect the piece from any wobbles like the demo cutting angle iron, the guide was on the wrong side and his vertical cut took out metal from where it was needed.
2nd tip. Want to cut a perfect round hole. Get a thick washer and center it over the place for the hole. Just weld it through the center to the base metal, then using the plasma cutter, go around the washer keeping gentle pressure against the washer and down on the job.
The hole will be perfect if you keep the tip vertical. The washed dia plus the tip diameter equals the hole size. Its that simple.

Great video tutorial. I just bought a Vevor Cut50P because I had a lot of 1/4" plate to cut for a project. My pancake compressor ran all the time so I added a 5-gal portable tank and now my compressor usually remains off until I'm finished with the cut. I really appreciate your table of amps, air and material thickness. Nothing like it in my owners so it's a big help.

Great video Brandon! To help with the consumable tip wear and easy straight lines I picked up a guide that slips over the gun tip and has 2 little wheels that lift the tip slightly away from the surface you’re cutting. Also comes with an attachable rod that you can cut perfect circles with. I am NOT in any way associated with this company but I purchased mine from Eastwood tools.

Thanks! Bought s cheap plasma cutter off Amazon because I am drilling out some stainless metal boxes and was tired of burning out bits and how long it was taking. Getting the hang of it but the amp chart will be handy!

Great video! I have a PrimeWeld Cut60 (great machine) and I'm new to plasma cutting. I have learned that I really suck at freehand cutting. I've been tempted to get a CNC table.

Brandon, just a follow up on my plasma cutter. It was interesting. I have a CUT 50P that I got about three years ago. I took your ideas from you video and I found two problems. 1. The electrode was nice and tight but the electrode cover was a little loose. 2. Where the plasma cutter torch connects with the actual machine was quite loose. I tightened it up. After that, my plasma cutter works great. I haven't had any problems getting the plasma part starting up after the high frequency starts and I'm close enough to the material I'm cutting the plasma comes on and I'm cutting. So thank you very much. Watching you welding and plasma videos have been a great help in learning to fabricate metal.

    Yet another great video.
I was worried you had stopped riding your motorcycle.
Glad to see you are just specializing.
I wasn't aware you could gouge with a "consumer level" plasma cutter.
Hyperthem has a setup with special tips for gouging.
Glad to see it can be done with a normal machine.
I was looking at magnetic torch guides earlier today.
They appear to be one of those things they charge more for just becase they can.
$100 for 2 or 3 magnets and 18" of angle iron seems high to me.
I think I will slap some magnets on a free after rebates Menards aluminum yard stick and try that out.
