When installing a jigsaw into this box configuration, it becomes closest to what's known as a scroll saw. It could be a low-cost substitute for a band saw. The hinged blade guide is a brilliant reuse, very well done!

Very good design. However there is not much clearance in the thickness of the board to be cut. Perhaps you can upgrade it with new modifications?? Just a suggestion. Thank you.

@@dekayscrafts When I built my workshop a few years ago dust collection was a major concern to me and it took me three iterations to built my dust collector MK III that is in service for two years now. It has an internal diameter of 120mm although I only use 100mm pipes. Air goes through a cyclone and leaves 99% of the dust in a 0,3 m³ box. Then it goes through the 2,2 kW radial fan and then through a 1 micron folded filter that can actually hold about 10-20 liters of superfine dust and still work. It has to be cleaned after emptying the big box several times. Most of my machines are homebuilt or modified to allow for really good dust collection and I have to say: If you build the dust collection properly, on many machines you can really catch 99,9% of it. Pretty amazing. One the table saw drives me mad but I will probabaly replace it in the near future with a table/arm saw. So it will basically be a track saw on steroids which is a lot better in dust collection is you ask me. In general if there is any dust I use a P3 filter mask. Oh yeah and I have an air filter that circulates the air, too ^^ But it is not only about the lungs and cancer. It is also about overall cleanness of the workshop. I don't like dust everywhere.
Good idea, but the title should be "under table jigsaw" and not "circular saw at table", in french "Scie sauteuse sous table".
