It blew off coolant as he did not have radiator vents set proper and temperature got hot enough to pop the pressure valve. He panicked and forced it down in an unnecessary emergency. He received quite a negative review of his pilot ability for damaging the rare airplane. Somewhat of an entitled spoiled brat attitude was credited to him

@@captainaxle438 Sir John Allison was allowed to fly this Bf109 - God knows why! This aeroplane had taken 20 years to restore to flying condition by a dedicated team led by Russ Snadden. Allison flew the plane correctly until he was on the downwind leg. The Messerschmitt vented some coolant as it was designed to do. At this point Allison panicked and called an emergency landing. He then proceeded to fuck the whole thing up by landing too fast, overshooting the runway, leaping over the M11 and ending up inverted in a field. As if that wasn't bad enough, the complete arsehole then had the temerity to criticise the hood (which had saved his useless neck) and to claim that he was the last RAF Pilot to "down a Bf 109". What a useless prick!

@@arrowman37 Agreed,.. also that he used his wealthy connections to be allowed to fly it
